The experience was great, I loved to stay in the land in the middle of the nature and I had a great connection with Daniel. He is a good man with a lot of experience and interesting stories and is very open to teach you all the kind of stuff. I also appreciate that trought him and Amy I could knew a lot of local people and enter in the community of Zipolite. Special mention also to the dog Coco!

This place is a true paradise with a super wise host on the top. The accomodation is out of this world, it feels stright away that somebody spent months thinking how to build before touched anthing. Outstanding communication, I shall be back !

We were very much relying on this couple showing up and felt very let down especially as it was supposedly our first Workaway help with our harvest. I expressed my sincere worry not to have heard from them and still received no reply.

Timea was truly a joy to have with us. Our students connected with her right away and they always looked forward to her classes. You could tell they felt comfortable around her , they laughed, learned, and had a really good time. We’re really grateful for the time she shared with us and the memories she left behind.Timea had such a great vibe from day one. She fit in so easily that it felt like she’d been part of the team for much longer. Something we appreciated a lot is how much she genuinely loves Mexico and our culture. Anyone who gets to work with her will feel the same. We hope she keeps enjoying Mexico… and we genuinely hope to see her back again soon.

Mateo has been a perfect helper, accepting and executing each task perfectly. He has a sense of precision and exactitude that has been very precious when we started to build some shelves in wood. He is a reliable person with a great commitment to the work and he has been doing often more time than he owes. I highly recommend Mateo for anyone who needs real help.

I write my positive feedback with Javi in English as my writing iSpanish language is bad. my two weeks in Javi property was good for me as for my cat friend bibin , Javi Cat Ace was i good friend for my cat, this is an important point for me as travelling with à cat not alwayes easy. I did whot for Javi was a priority for he s house since he contact me this summer the neew batrhoom ,small one but functional . i used some recycled material as some neew ,in the end this small empty space in 10 days bécame à Nice batrhoom . me Jave and Ari he s soon wee do not spent many time togheter as for Javy joob and Ace school i spent all day time alone to do this job , but for me was ok as we already know that since he contact me this summer.and also in november night came earlier and this area of Spain is cold in winter.I enjoed the lovely Sunday spent with Jave ans he s friend , we visited à romantich old village after à Nice walk on the Mountain around. javy place for me was ok and as we talk the perfect time to stay more weeks is around April / May ,days longer and température more agréable to do more things and spent more time tofheter, mayebe i ll back to him next year when ill back to Asturias to find my land to buy, this summer was à disaster cause à engine motorhome dommage.I happy to helped Javi in this project and I hope i can easly end the rest of the job to be able to use this local for live in.I wish to Javy that all he s dream became reality and wee stay in contact for springer time. We are so grateful to had Sophie in our team. She was energetic, easy going and always willing to learn and help. We made lots of memories together. Sophie is a good English teacher and she was very friendly among all people around. Also we did cooking together most of the days and the food was delicious. She helped on our project a lot. Daisy and her friend Florian reached out to me as they were in my area, and I feel so blessed they did. The both have a depth of presence, openness and gentleness which feels healing and nurturing to the soul. They are living their lives through their hearts, with a sense of connection to what feels true in the moment, which is so uplifting and heart warming to be around. They listen openly and talk from a connected and intuitive place, being attentive to their experience in the moment. It is a joy to be around such wise and receptive people, who also carry a lightless and a true sense of adventure and exploration, both outwardly and inwardly. They helped with so many different ways, including caring and tending for some trees, and placing posts to support them (digging in difficult conditions and cementing the posts in), cleaning windows and the terraces, weeding, helping tidy and organise things, cooking meals, caring for the pool and the list goes on. They embraced each task with enthusiasm, attention to detail, independence and a sense of fun. It was so easy to delegate tasks and trust all was in good hands. Their communication is superb, and plans unfolded between us smoothly. What started as what I thought might be a short stay, effortlessly turned into two weeks. Florian had his dog Lucky with him, who made himself at home in a relaxed and easy way. He added to the joy and love in the house. I feel that I have been deeply enriched by the experiencing of being with Daisy and Florian. Their presence, care, generosity of spirit, sense of gratitude, emotional intelligence and wisdom flowed into me over their stay, and I feel I have learnt much from their outlooks and way of being. Their desire to be helpful and contribute is very special. They have kindness and love flowing out of them in abundance. Thank you so much for the special experience of your stay.

I spent one month here and had a great time. The staff and other workawayers were very warm and welcoming, genuinely great people. The meals were true highlights of my stay in Ireland and the work in the garden was interesting and very pleasant. Overall it was a fascinating new experience with plenty of opportunities to learn more about Buddhism and meditation in a calming and peaceful environment.

Ciaran was with us for 3 weeks and it were 3 fantastic weeks, we had nice meals together and the evenings were great with a beer and good conversations ( we now know a lot about Ireland and he about the Netherlands) and a lot of laughs. If you want a really nice, friendly and hardworking guy, Ciaran is the best. Thanks a lot Ciaran for all that you did for us and we hope to see you next year. Marly & vincent

Wir waren als 4-köpfige Familie für 3 Wochen im Oktober bei Cori & Joel und wurden super herzlich und warm in der Community willkommen geheißen. Wir hatten viele sehr schöne und interessante Gespräche mit den beiden. Etwas abgelegen (ein Auto ist u.E.n. absolut notwendig um flexibel zu sein) und wunderschön, hatten wir eine tolle Wohnung mitten in den Olivenhainen. Dort teilten wir uns die Gemeinschaftsräume mit einer anderen tollen Familie. Auf dem großen Grundstück gibt es immer etwas zu tun. So konnten meine Tochter und ich die beiden dabei unterstützen, den Garten aufzuräumen und teilweise neu zu gestalten sowie die Garage und den Gemeinschaftsraum für die Kids auszumisten, neu zu sortieren und für die kommenden Familien einladend zu gestalten. Highlight unseres Aufenthaltes war der Bau und die Gestaltung eines neuen Outdoorbereichs für die Kids, den mein Mann und unsere Tochter umsetzten: Bau eines Baumhauses mit diversen Kletter-, Schaukel- und Wohlfühlmöglichkeiten. Hierbei hatten wir in der Umsetzung weitestgehend freie Hand nachdem Cori ihre grundsätzlichen Ideen als Basis gab. Außerdem konnten wir uns die Arbeitszeit frei einteilen, sodass wir auch genügend Zeit mit anderen Familien verbringen und die Umgebung erkunden konnten. Für uns entsprach dieses Workaway absolut dem, was wir uns darunter vorgestellt haben und wir können uns vorstellen jederzeit wieder nach Sheperd's Rest zurückzukommen :)

Todo lo que hice en San Gregorio fue una experiencia de primera vez para mí! Me quedé acá por 3 semanas y ayudé a Danilo y Ercira en la “vida de campo.” Ellos viven con la naturaleza, así que todos los días toqué árboles, flores, tierra, agua, y animales. Cortar maderas, plantar árboles, sacar huevos frescos y tocar gallinas y caballos… no puedo contar cuántas cosas hice por primera vez! Además construimos “Puente de Arcoíris” que tiene el mismo nombre que el puente en Tokio. Es el puente de la amistad de Chile y Japón! Y las comidas diarias que Ercira hizo estuvieron súper ricas. Comí zapallo italiano, cutitín y sopa de lentejas por primera vez también. Aprendí que hay muchas felicidades en la vida diaria a través de esta estadía. Comida, sol, aire, flor, árbol y conversación…ellos siempre se disfrutan y crear muchas felicidades. Creo que fue difícil de darme cuenta eso en la vida de ciudad. Quiero vivir encontrando felicidades pequeñas como ellos. Muchísimas gracias por todo, Danilo y Ercira!! Everything I did in San Gregorio was an experience for the first time! I stayed here for 3 weeks and helped Danilo and Ercira with the “life of the country.” They live with the nature, so I touched trees, flowers, soil, water, and animals every day. Cutting woods, planting trees, collect fresh eggs and touching horses and chickens…I can’t count how many things I did for the first time! Additionally, we make “Rainbow bridge” which has the same name as the bridge in Tokyo. It’s a bridge of friendship of Chile and Japan! And daily foods which Ercira cocked were so delicious. I ate zapallo italiano, cutitín y soup de lentejas for the first time as well. I learned that there are many happinesses in ordinary days through this stay. Food, sun, air, flower, tree and conversation…they always enjoy and create many happinesses. I think it was difficult to realise it in the city life. I want to love finding small happinesses like them. Thank you so much for all, Danilo and Ercira! サングレゴリオでは、全てが初めての経験でした。私はここに3週間滞在し、ダニロとエルシラの「田舎暮らし」をお手伝いしました。二人は自然のそばに暮らしているので、毎日木や花、水、土、そして動物たちに触りました。木を切ったり、木を植えたり、産みたての鶏の卵を集めたり、馬や鶏に触ったり…いくつ初めてのことをやったか数えきれません。 さらに、私たちはレインボーブリッジという橋を作りました。東京のレインボーブリッジと同じ名前の、チリと日本の友情の橋です。 また、エルシラが作る日々の料理はとてもおいしかったです！サパージョイタリアーノ、クティティン、レンズ豆のスープなど、初めて食べるチリ料理ばかりでした。 私がここで学んだのは、日々の暮らしの中にたくさんの幸せがあるということです。食事、太陽、空気、花、木、会話など、二人はいつもたくさんの幸せを楽しみ、作り出しています。このことに都会で気づくのはきっと難しかったと思います。彼らのように、小さな幸せを見つけながら生きていきたいです。 ダニロとエルシラ、本当にありがとう！！！

Nuestra experiencia fue realmente excelente! Desde el primer momento nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y cómodos. El lugar es tal como se muestra en las fotos, amplio y cómodo. Y se encuentra en una zona muy linda de la candelaria, cerca de todo! En cuanto a tareas estuvimos en recepción y tanto Nancy como Samuel, Angélica y Dylan fueron muy pacientes y amables para explicarnos lo que teníamos que hacer. Realmente nos hicieron sentir parte de su familia, y eso es algo que no se encuentra en todos los voluntariados. Muchas gracias chicos, ya los extrañamos! Nosotros tuvimos un gran inconveniente en Bogotá y todos ellos estuvieron muy presentes y nos ayudaron en todo lo que pudieron. La verdad recomendamos mucho ir aquí, tanto el lugar cómo la gente que está allí es hermosa!

Sebastián estuvo una semana en casa. Es un hombre honesto y trabajador. Tiene muchas habilidades específicas y hizo muy bien los trabajó que le pedí. Me ayudó en la electricidad, en el montaje de una estufa de lecha, en la gestión de las aguas grises, con el cortacesped... Se iba a quedar mucho más tiempo pero no lo pasó bien con el frío. También es músico y le gusta compartir su música en cualquier momento. Le dejó manosear las guitarras a mi hijo, lo cual agradezco mucho. También le gusta estar con gente y hablar sobre muchos temas diferentes, tiene mucha información sobre salud, política... Es un muy buen perfil para que te ayude en casa, muy cuidadoso con los trabajos. Muchas gracias Sebastián, te deseo mucha suerte en tu camino.

Working with Jhon and Javier was a really beautiful experience! They were really nice with me and if I needed something they would always help me. I worked at the reception for four hours per day, sleeping in a tent, with breakfast included and access to the kitchen and all of the hotel. I was able to explore and relax on beautiful beaches; I suggest coming here to sleep with the sound of the ocean and to see amazing nature and unique animals! People with me were all amazing and always smiling, and I felt welcomed the entire time. Definitely recommend:)

Carolina was such a helpful volunteer to have around. She is a open minded individual and can get along with everyone; her most helpuful skill was her knowledge in English, since she stayed at the reception and could communicate with every guest we had. She can also communicate in Spanish pretty well. Also, if you need a creative and artistic person, she could help you with so many things (painting, decorating..). She is a very calm person, and she likes to stay with people as much as she likes being with herself, reading a lot (if you like to read you will be able to share your interests with her). if you arer looking for a volunteer, you should consider choosing her!

Sakura stayed with us for about three weeks, and we are very grateful to her because she helped us so much. She is a very independent person and had no problem working alone almost all the time. She was always in a good mood and told us about her country and culture. She also cooked very well, especially her curry ;) She was very willing to do all the tasks even she didn't know how, and she put a lot of effort into them, although she is a bit forgetful about putting away her tools. But otherwise, we highly recommend having her at home. She is super creative and she paint very good. Sakura, even though I had to collect a lot of snails, now the plants are very healthy and growing well!! Thank you so much. You are always welcome. And we wish you an amazing year of travel!

I had a very positive experience! Laura was an outgoing, accommodating host, always providing us with advice on the best places to visit in and around Tunja, the best foods to try... she even took me out for coffee and lunch one day. The city itself was also quite pleasant- calm, safe, and beautiful, it felt like I was getting a view of Colombia that very few tourists get to enjoy. I also appreciated it on a professional level- working about 16 hours a week, I got to cover all sorts of English topics, from advanced grammar to basic conversation to business. Having taken the TEFL certificate a few years ago, it allowed me to hone my skills and build a stronger CV for the future, far more than certain other places I worked. It certainly helped that the students (mainly teenagers and young adults) were delightful- so much cultural exchange arose naturally from the lesson topics, and I made a few actual friends outside of the classroom. I'm glad to recommend them to both aspiring teachers and anyone interested in going off the beaten path in Colombia.
