Jara and Giovanni were very respectful visitors. They listened and followed instructions well. They completed tasks to a high standard, and tidied and cleaned up after themselves. They were able to work independently once shown the work, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other hosts. Their demeanor is friendly and quiet and I enjoyed their company. Thank you again.

We had the pleasure of hosting Lena for two weeks, and she was a fantastic addition to our team! From day one, she brought a positive attitude, great energy, and a willingness to help wherever needed. She was friendly and proactive with guests, got along well with everyone, and fit right into the team dynamic effortlessly. She took her responsibilities seriously, asked questions when unsure, and was reliable during her shifts. Beyond that, she contributed to the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere we value so much here at the hostel. We’re truly grateful for her time with us, and we’d happily recommend her to any future host. All the best on your journey, and you’re always welcome back anytime — our doors are open!

It was an absolute pleasure hosting Pamela, it was a shame she couldn't stay longer. She was keen to work, often taking the initiative, as well as using and sharing her skills. She cooked, cleaned, gardened and did some quite heavy manual work burning tree branches and attacking brambles under the hot Portuguese sun. She has an optimistic positive outlook on everything and it was a joy working with her. I highly recommend her as a Workaway, she will be always welcome here.

I spent 3 months with Parissa and Steve, they were very kind to me and always ready to give me a lift or advice for the rest of my trip. The work is very interesting and varied. Thanks again Parissa and Steve for your warm welcome !

Staying at this horse farm was an amazing experience. It felt more like a relaxing holiday than a typical Workaway. He told me there wasn’t any specific job that needed to be done, so I simply helped out wherever I could. I assisted with cleaning the horse stables, cutting grass for the horses, feeding them, and washing them, among other tasks. I also had the chance to learn how to cook authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine with the caretaker’s family and play with the kids. Mr. Dharamveer was very busy with his new hotel project on the property, so we couldn’t have long conversations, but he still showed his hospitality by occasionally dropping by with some chocolate bars and small treats. The only thing I missed was horse riding. Since this is a breeding farm, there aren’t many horses available for riding. Especially with the hotel construction going on, I wasn’t able to ride his beautiful horses. But instead, I got to spend a lot of time in the stables with the mares and foals, who were incredibly sweet! Thank you so much and all the best for your future projects!

Kay came as a volunteer and left us as a friend and part of the community. He has such a good heart and nice character, and is a very hard working person, he got along with everyone just great. It was always fun to hang out with him, he even liked to play with the kids of the sisters. We had many great moments. But also while working on a project he is fully present, brings very down to earth solutions, and shows such a persistence when it comes to getting things done. He always cleanes up after himself, and often leaves spaces tidier than they were before. And he has a great skill in seeing what needs to be done, even though it might not be communicated sometimes. But mostly he is an amazing person, a kind soul, a very grounded character and such a funny dude. All in all the perfect volunteer. Everyone of us hopes to see you as soon as possible again Kay :) But still we wish you all the best for your travels

i had such a good time in Lars, Maria and Pema's home. They were super welcoming, the place just is magical and so peaceful, the tasks are easy, various and interesting. We had great talks and i got to experience the daily life in the swiss countryside. I didn't speak german but Pema has this ability to communicate by other ways. thank you so much for those moments !

I spent three wonderful weeks at this place and enjoyed it massively!! The breadth of Phil and Michelle’s knowledge is amazing, and they were always open to explaining how things work or why they’re done. The work itself was varied and I enjoyed the different rhythms of each day, sometimes it would be weeding and planting out fruit and vegetables, other times it would be scything, fence laying, or potting flowers and seeds. It was a great mix of things and I really learned so much by doing and seeing things unfold in front of me. My caravan was cosy and warm, and the red barn is a great place to cook and hang out with other volunteers :) I spent a lot of my free time reading in the sun, which was so lovely - I was lucky to come when the sun was shining! The food prepared by Phil and Michelle on volunteering days was delicious, and it was really nice sharing anecdotes and discussing ideas around shared meals. I’m very grateful to have been a part of the farm for a few weeks, and have come away with so much. All the best for the future and I’d love to come back some day!! Xx

Nous avons eu la chance de recevoir Marie 2 semaines sur son trajet en vélo depuis la Belgique jusqu'en Espagne. Marie fait partie de ces volontaires dont on gardera un souvenir charmant pendant des années. Volontaire, engagée, automne, mais surtout très intéressante drôle et agréable. Je te souhaite une bonne route et j'espère que tu feras de très belles rencontres. Buena suerte !

"Beautiful hell yeah" Mario's Workaway is amazing. As soon as I got there I felt at home. His land is so beautiful and I instantly became invested in the work, because Mario's such a chill guy and because the work itself is so satisfying. I'm looking forward to seeing the project in a few years, once everything's finished it really will be a paradise. It's not the most luxury experience (I slept on a mattress outside for example) but that's not important. This was a great place because it's so fun to hang out with Mario and the other workers, it doesn't need fancy bedrooms and electricity to be an awesome home. It was super fun playing music with Mario (luckily I had learned to play the Jambi a little bit in Morocco at my last Workaway so I was able to join in without sounding too terrible) and the food was incredible. Mario's a great chef! Overall I 100% recommend, and there's a solid chance I'll be back again :)

This place is the perfect place if you’re looking for real and meaningful experiences through Workaway. It’s a place where everyone can find their spot and help out as much as they can and want to. We didn’t get the chance to meet Gorgio and Kate (even though we would have loved to), but Andrea gave us a very warm welcome. It’s a shared space where people live together, a peaceful and lively place, open to everyone. You’ll definitely meet great people there. The three of us slept in a tent, which gave us our own space and lots of quiet. Thanks again for this lovely week! Claire, Lucile, and Maya

We had a great time at Julien & Caroles place, they are good at making you feel at home and giving people space as well as connecting with each other. The place was beautiful and the work rewarding enough, it was cool to see how they are building and creating this self sufficient place in such a considerate and responsible way. We would have loved to stay & share a bit more, but it was not up to any of us this time ;). Hope to come back some time, we would recommend this place to everyone!

Maja and Paula gave us great support on our farm. They were both very open, very energetic, self-motivated and persistent in their approach to all the tasks that arise on a farm. What was particularly noticeable was their sensitive way of dealing with the animals, their caring attitude towards the team, their great thirst for knowledge and their unstoppable energy for tidying up :) We would like to thank them both from the bottom of our hearts for their wonderful energy and their very energetic co-operation. They were a true gift for our team. We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you again.

I had a very nice 10-day stay at Yusuf and Pervin's place. Pervin is kind and funny, and we spent most of our days together. Yusuf would return home from work in the evenings. There was no strict schedule—I simply followed Pervin in her daily activities. Each day began with a delicious breakfast shared with Pervin. Then I spent time painting, gardening, visiting the market, going to the house by the sea, exploring Izmir, and more. In the evenings, we all had dinner together—Yusuf, Pervin, and I—on the terrace, enjoying a beautiful view of the sunset. Thanks to a translation app, we could communicate quite easily, and they taught me a lot about Türkiye. I was lucky to meet the whole family—Basak and Onur are also very kind and welcoming. I definitely recommend this experience, especially if you want to learn Turkish. For me, it was the perfect way to spend my first days in Türkiye. I learned many new words, discovered local cooking, and gained a deeper understanding of Turkish culture. Thank you all so much!

I had a truly wonderful experience volunteering at this Workaway project in Tanzania. As a Computer Teacher and Social Media Manager, I was able to contribute meaningfully while also learning so much from the team and students. The open-door policy created a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and I really appreciated the shared meals and time spent together – it felt like being part of a big family. On weekends, we enjoyed amazing excursions to places like the Napuru Waterfalls, the Hot Springs, and Lake Duluti – unforgettable experiences that added so much to my stay. I also learned a great deal about local bird species from the students, which was a unique and unexpected bonus! I wholeheartedly recommend this project to anyone looking for a meaningful cultural exchange and the opportunity to make a real impact. Thank you for this incredible time!

I had a wonderful time staying with Lyn. She was bloody funny and cheerful! She has a lovely garden where she grows lots of vegetables and flowers. The tasks weren’t too hard—I made new strawberry beds and did some gardening. The cabin I stayed in was warm enough and gave me some nice private time. She always cracked jokes using Kiwi slang, which lifted my mood and made conversations fun and full of learning. She often took me to cafes and into town, and she even lent me a bike, so I really enjoyed cycling along the tracks. I highly recommend Lyn to any Workawayer who wants to stay in a rural area surrounded by laughter and classic Kiwi slang. She also has the sweetest dog, Doddie, who I’ll definitely miss playing with. Thank you, Lyn, for making me feel so welcome—I absolutely loved it. Until we meet again :) Let’s keep in touch!

L expérience avec Jean Sylvain a été très positive. Nous avons passé un séjour très sympa ensemble, des conversations intéressantes et une communication fluide et agréable. Le chantier entrepris consistait à faire un plancher dans le grenier sur une grande surface. Il y avait deux autres workawayers avec Jean Sylvain et le travail d équipe a été extrêmement facilité par les capacités de tous à travailler ensemble et à s organiser rapidement et efficacement. Je garde un très bon souvenir du passage de Jean Sylvain et je le recommande vivement !

Abbiamo avuto il piacere di ospitare Megan per due settimane . Una ragazza piena di energia e di voglia di mettersi alla prova! Ci ha aiutati nella gestione del giardino e inoltre ha creato delle meravigliose farfalle di argilla per i nostri workshop! Ci ha travolti nel suo mondo di arte e relax coinvolgendoci con il suo sorriso,la sua disponibilità,calma e armonia! Trovare persone così al giorno d’oggi è raro! Immensamente grati di averti conosciuta!
