I stayed almost 3 weeks at the Hacienda, and it was really incredible. All the people it brings in are wonderful, and within only a few days after arriving you feel very much part of a community. The work isn't anything intense, a lot of cutting wood, cooking, cleaning and some other side projects every once in a while. The location is excellent for branching off to do activities such as Rainbow mountains, 7 lakes, Pisac, and Cusco. The animals are all amazing and overall need tons of love. Thank you Luis and everyone who made me feel at home when I was so far from it ❤

Thank you so much for your beautiful words. It was a true pleasure to share this time with you. Your presence, openness, and curiosity brought so much to the space. We’re grateful for everything you contributed and so happy the experience gave you what you needed. You’ll always have a place here

Mia was so amazing and it was such a pleasure to have her around! She was good humored, easy to communicate with, honest, and super willing to help out. She was a pleasure to get to know, and great at expressing her own needs. I can't imagine a place that wouldn't be made better with her presence!

Esperamos tu visita pronto! Miguel, Anna, Leah y Elsa

From my first arrival at Mustafas place I realised it would not be what I had expected. I only received 2, very lacking, meals a day, and as the nearest shop was 10 miles away this was all I would be getting. There was no hot water for either bathing or washing dishes and the internet was very limited and could only be accessed via his hotspot, which meant a lot of the work I had planned to do, I could not. He also now lives alone. These are all things that as of applying were stated against in his profile. He expected me to cut 4 acres of overgrown garden down by hand in the hot sun and on a growling stomach, in just over a week. I also worked 7 days and then recieved criticism when I had the audacity to ask for 2 days off, despite his profile stating it would be a 5 day working week. Poor communication on his part led to some confusion on what actually needed to be removed, and when he corrected me on this he was very rude, saying that he was older than me and that I should just listen to him; yet when I tried to give him feedback he wouldn't listen to a word I had to say. When I left a cup out, that I was still drinking from, he claimed I was lazy and that if I had a wife I would want her to do everything for me(?!?). At one point, he even clicked his fingers at me to get my attention like I was some kind of dog. He is an obstinate, egocentrical and quite frankly rude man, who seems to more want unpaid labour than a volunteer exchange; which is a real shame as from the previous reviews this looked like a very good experience. I would advise anyone looking to come here to be very thorough when communicating about the rules of their arrangement.

Ivy was such a wonderful host. Though I was only there for 2 days/nights, she made me feel so welcome. When I arrived, we took the adorable dog for a walk. He is so well trained and SO loving, I miss him so much! The cat is very sweet as well. Ivy taught me how to fish and prepare the fish and cook it. She taught me many things about Faroese culture and we spoke about many things including knitting, which she is very talented at. I had my own room in the house and it was very comfortable, Ivy was attentive and made sure I was happy. The work was light and easy, just some housework, caring for the dog, and helping with an event she had organized on the island. Ivy gave great instruction and made sure I also had time to relax or go for a walk. Nólsoy is so beautiful! My favorite part was when Ivy took me to see the puffins, it was my dream. Thank you for such a great experience, Ivy 😊

This man is really helpfull. He was two weeks here with his friend Tony, and they are Nice people and handy individuals. They work with energy and keep the energy atmosphere high. They taught me to play "Scopa" and "Burraco", because they carry their "Italian package of games and Magic" hahaha Joseph is really Nice. Now I AM happy that he found his piece of land to begin with his own permaculture project (sadly that it was not close to My project, but it doesn't matter). I wish You the Best My friend in your new aventure. Here You Will be always welcome.

My fantastic stay for just over a month here in Balkanneros was such a good one! Everything worked out really well, during shifts I could chat with guests, read a book or just channel surf on the TV and it was all great. I found a local bar that was super nice to me, overall I was very sad to leave. The hostel is a small and laidback one, not a party one. If this is also your vibe then I highly recommend. Perfect location with the best bakery in town only a two minute walk up the road :)

This was my eighth workaway. All in all it was awesome. Daniele has a list of tasks to do. She gave me frequent updates and patiently followed up every time 👍😀, and answer all my questions. They are quite easy, and one at a time, makes the few hours of work pass by easily. The house is good but the garden is amazing. I have never seen such a variety of plants and trees that one person takes care of, also with help of workawayers. Daniele has a fountain of information on gardening and how to take care of plants. But most importantly for me she lent me her surfboard to try out surfing :) And thank you for the bicycle, Lacanau has a lot of bike pistes, that you can use to explore all the Bordeaux coastal area. Hope to see you again next year. Also thanks for sewing some of my clothes, that was super helpful 🤩😁

I spent about a month and a half there starting in March! (Sorry for the very late comment!) I truly feel from the bottom of my heart that I’m so glad I came here. I was able to experience so many things I couldn’t have if I hadn’t come to Saskatchewan — and especially on Sandra and Keith’s farm. There were so many first-time experiences for me. First, I got to enjoy staying alone in a lovely cabin for a few days (haha). Then came caring for the animals. Right around when I arrived, the first lamb was born. I was so happy to witness a lamb being born. More and more were born, and when the lambs and their mothers moved from the barn to start life outside, it was such a beautiful scene. Feeding milk to the lambs was fun — they were so cute! I pray they all grow up healthy and strong. I also loved the friendly horses, and the magnificent cattle! It was my first time seeing this breed of cows, and seeing them live in the snow was amazing. It was also my first time seeing peacocks and turkeys up close. Taking care of goats was another new experience! I was able to do so many things for the first time. Riding a snowmobile through beautiful birch forest trails and snowy landscapes at full speed was awesome! Learning how to shoot was also a valuable experience. And I even got to see the northern lights. Sandra and Keith also took me to town and many local events, which helped me feel the local culture and get a real sense of what life in Saskatchewan is like. Living in a place with so much snow was truly special. Sandra and Keith, thank you so much! I already miss Sandra’s cooking — every dish she made was delicious! I hope we can meet again someday if there’s another chance.

Moxi was open and clear with communication from the very beginning, making sure I knew my way around and was comfortable. The work is straight forward, the same way you would take care of your space or home, while being free to organise your own time. The cats are adorable! The views are stunning and being in Yunquera is definitely a great cultural exchange. I stayed for two weeks as my first workaway experience and would recommend to other workawayers if you'd like a chill, relaxed time :) xx

"I spent the final chapter of my life in Canada here, for about a month and a half. There was a variety of work to do, so I was never bored. Even though there was lots of work, there was still plenty of time to relax! You can spend time with friendly dogs, watch ponies in the wide, beautiful grassy yard, or relax on the sofa with a cute cat. At night, you can even sleep with the cats! (For someone like me, who loves cats but can’t have one, this was incredibly wonderful!) Most of the work was garden-related — picking up branches, pulling weeds, organizing things, cleaning the horse barn, and painting the walls of a room. The most fun and my first job here was painting a boat (I think?) and chopping firewood for the next winter! Chantal also gave me so many chances to meet people and have amazing experiences on my days off! She took me to house parties, we spent days on the boat, went out for ice cream, and had campfires using the branches we collected. All of these were truly special memories. Going to an island by boat and sleeping overnight on it — I could never have imagined that in my life! haha I wonder if I’ve forgotten anything… Anyway, I just want to tell all future workers that Chantal is a super friendly and absolutely amazing host.

Even though it was raining a lot, I still had a great time at Andres place. He is very welcoming, easy going and very considerate about your well-being. The place is in a stunning landscape and there are many things to do and explore. I´ll definently recommend visting Andres and I´d love to come back myself one day. Wish you all the best!!

This was the easiest Workaway I’ve ever done! The “work” felt more like socialising, and I met so many amazing people through it who even showed me around Istanbul. I had an amazing time with them and others who I met through their social network. Everything was exactly as described in the ad—very clear and transparent. Mustafa is a good host who gives you lots of space and time which is apperciated. Also as a woman, I also felt completely safe in the building and the surrounding area. I made many friends in Istanbul and now have a reason to come back to Istanbul! Many thanks for the opportunity!!

Leanne and her daughter sallie came to dog/house sit for 2 weeks whilst I went to work. I had one day settling them in and giving instructions which were quickly absorbed. Leeanne is a lovely bubbly open person and easy to get on with. I left feeling confident that all was well. They took very good care of my dogs updating me regularly. They left the house clean and tidy. I can recommend. Always. Welcome back.

Suelane has been a fantastic guest here. From the moment she arrived, she took it on herself to clean the house top to bottom, including the refrigerator and pantry that hadn't been cleaned in years. She helped with cooking and kept the kitchen spotless, helped out whenever I had a project or task to do, and cleaned up after. Her English is rudimentary, and she attended ESL classes weekday mornings. It has been great practice for my Portuguese, but she's also fluent in Google Translate, so there's been no problem with communication. In fact, we've had many lovely conversations about her kids and her life in Brazil. Sue is warm, friendly, and always eager to help out. I recommend her highly!
