Mike is such a great guy and i really enjoyed having him stay and help out. He’s very easy going and flexible. Always willing to help out with any task and does a great job everytime. We managed to get many things done and also had a nice time hiking in the national park, sharing meals and great conversations. I would highly recommend Mike to any future host. Thanks mate !

We spent three wonderful weeks staying with a truly special family on their self-sustaining eco-farm in Colombia, and we can’t recommend them highly enough. The hosts— Luz and her daughter Dana —are not only incredibly kind and welcoming, but they also have the spirit of sustainable living in the most authentic and inspiring way. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with open arms and genuine warmth. The farm is a peaceful paradise in nature, where every corner tells a story of care, patience, and harmony with the land. The vegetable garden is absolutely beautiful and the animals—1 chicken, 1 parrot, 2 goats, 2 pigs, 2 cows, 2 cats, 7 dogs and plenty of fish — add life and joy to the daily rhythm of the farm. We loved helping with feeding the animals, weeding and planting fresh veggies, and learning about organic farming practices firsthand. The mother and daughter are deeply passionate about their way of life, and they shared their knowledge (like for example making coffee by hand, patacones or the best colombian sweets) with such generosity and humility. We always felt included and very much valued. They made sure we had everything we needed, and their hospitality went far beyond the basics—there was a real sense of family and connection. What stood out most was how effortlessly we felt at home. There was no pressure, no rigid schedule, we were treated like part of the family. We left with hearts full of gratitude and memories we’ll cherish forever. If you’re looking for a meaningful experience in sustainable living, surrounded by nature and kindness, this is the place. We’re so grateful for the time we spent with this incredible family and the lessons we learned about community and living in harmony with the nature. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! My time here has truly been one of the best experiences of my life! The month I spent there flew by, and I made some of the most wonderful memories ever. From the very first day, I immediately felt like part of Akino’s family and the community. As a volunteer, my role was to speak English with the kids, play and cook with them, and prepare fun activities for them to enjoy. Once a week, we also held a session for younger children and their families, which included a variety of different activities. Engaging in all of these experiences was incredibly fun, and talking with the moms, sharing ideas and perspectives, was deeply enriching. It was also amazing to join the day trips in and around Isahaya, which allowed me to experience so many unique and special things. As for Isahaya itself, it’s such a lovely and peaceful city. It has everything you might need, and it’s close to some beautiful seaside cafés, my favorite place to relax during my free time. The house was a traditional Japanese home, cozy and fully equipped with everything I needed. I want to sincerely thank Akino for giving me the opportunity to be part of this amazing project, as well as her wonderful family and all the moms for the warm welcome they gave me. This place will always have a special place in my heart!

Staying with Jo and Peter was a truly beautiful experience. From the very first day, we felt warmly welcomed, not only by the hosts but also by the entire community around them. It’s a very special place with a unique atmosphere that makes you feel at home right away. The hosts were incredibly kind, funny and supportive, always ready to help us, even with our own projects. Working with them was a real pleasure: communication was always clear, the environment relaxed, and the tasks enjoyable. I’m very grateful for the time spent there and for everything we learned. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming Workaway experience!

I've been near 2 months with Anna and Lope and I can say I consider myself lucky to find Anna as my host. it was a pleasure to being with her and I'm happy for sharing my time with her. I learned a lot from Anna and I'm thankful for the understanding that she had. Lope is wonderful and lovely. for some days he needed extra help but I was happy to be helpful and in the end Lope recovered again. Also I want to mention that Carlos is a great soul and I really respect him. I hope I can visit Anna and Lope in the future as well.

Lilly was a pleasure to welcome into our home. She is a very positive person, warm and friendly, eager to learn, open and honest. She worked hard at heavy pruning in the garden, house cleaning and general tasks helping on the farm. We enjoyed her company and have no hesitation in recommending her to other hosts .

Thank you so much for having me stay with you guys for three months. We bonded like a family. I can't thank you enough for helping me experience as much of New Zealand culture as possible. The family provided me with a perfect environment to build a healthy lifestyle and quit my phone addiction. I've found God again, along with peace and joy within me. I've become more aware of my feelings and senses—I think this is the way to love myself. I used to be too busy working to do this before. I've learned so much，and these experiences are incredibly valuable to my life. The family lives on a beautiful beach. The scenery of the sunrise at 6 a.m. in November is absolutely stunning. I loved cycling to town and spending the day looking for cookbooks in op shops. Reading the family's collection of cookbooks feels like watching YouTube cooking videos. I adore the family's daily routine. When I was fully in charge of taking care of the kids, the routine helped everyone get through the day without hassle. Because I stayed long enough to bond with the kids, I could even handle all the baby care for the toddler when the mother was away. All these experiences will be useful if I ever work as a nanny in the future. Thanks to the family, I found God again. God truly made everything go perfectly in these three months. I hope I can come back and catch up with the family again one day!

What can I say.. Mariana and Andre are the most kind and welcoming people in Portugal. There home is very cozy and they make sure that you feel as confortable as possible. Here, your ideas are very much welcome. This is the perfect place for people that wants to get creative, learn different crafts and get in touch with nature.

Jim worked for three weeks as a farmhand on our olivegarden and during this time became familiar with the olive harvest as a new area of ​​work. His tasks included laying out the nets, working carefully between the trees, stripping the olives from the trees by hand and with abbacchiatore with care and collecting and gathering them in boxes. He also prepared the meadows under the olive trees. In addition, he actively assisted with forest and tree maintenance, cleaning up and burning tree trimmings, and preparing and planting new seedlings. He quickly and diligently familiarized himself with the various tasks and demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility in handling tools, equipment, and nature. Jim displayed an open personality, good manners, and a keen interest in the people, the culture, and the surroundings. He was also consistently friendly, helpful, and reliable in his interactions with family and friends. His positive attitude, enthusiasm for his work, and social skills made working with him particularly pleasant. Jim discovered that in order to deliver the required harvest quantity to the mill within the designated timeframe, working hours had to be adjusted flexibly after prior mutual agreement. In this way, we were able to offer a healthy work-life balance. We thank Jim for his dedication and wish him all the best for his future endeavors.

Nic was a cool guy, it was his first volunteer position. He adapted to the city and helped out throughout the house. He became a fellow fan of Rio, the dog. He helped Elisa with many items around the house. Trato a mejorar su espanol en la casa. Era super bien la experencia. I highly recommended Nic for his adaptivity and social skills. We will drink a Belgian beer one day...in neighborhood.

Ohhh, Gurmeet! We are missing our far eastern friend in the familly already. Your stay with us was incredible. We had such good conversations and the food!!! Gurmeet has been of great help processing all the fall harvest. We did some canning, drying and fermenting together. She treated us with delightful exotic meals from her childhood and even though us how to make some of her cuisine with our local ingredients. Her time spent with Zéphyr was precious. She was a true friend to our little toddler. Gurmeet is resourceful and attentive. She puts great care in any given task and she is tidy and respectful. It was a very nice experience to have Paolo around. He's very communicatif and social but he also likes to retreat silently with an interesting book or for a nap in the hangmat. His strong hands were extremely helpful with the restauration of the chicken house, stacking of wood, brushcutting and maintenance of the permaculture beds. Also the animals were quickly confident with him and came running out welcoming him at the time of feeding them. Thanks a lot Paolo, for having shared so much with us. We really hope to cross trails again some time, somewhere in this beautiful world. Gerd

Jordie and Yasmine were able to acommodate me on very short notice and I will forever be grateful to them for their generosity and kindness. They live the most idyllic and beautiful life I have ever seen, and their home/the surrounding views are just stunning. I will miss drinking tea and taking in the breathtaking vista of the mountains, smelling the early morning dew on my way to feed the chickens, playing with their dogs and cats (especially crazy boy Zed!), dinners with the kids, and so much more!! Work is varied and fun; Jordie is a great leader and will always make sure you are well equipped for the tasks. Harvesting hemp was definitely one of my favorite projects :) My only regret is that I wasn't able to stay longer than just 3 weeks! Jordie, Yasmine, Nour and Blue: I wish you all nothing but the best; thank you so much for everything, and I hope to see you again when I'm back in Italy! <3

Rob and Lia were excellent hosts and very kind to me during my stay. We had great philosophical discussions and the work I did with them was enjoyable! They even offered to help with transport for day trips to Ottowa and Montreal. I can highly recommend them as workaway hosts!

Yuri has been with me for a month. She has a very nice personality. Very nice and interesting to talk to. She is genuinely interested in organic farming. She works with enthusiasm and always does her best. It has been a pleasure to have her on the farm and I can recommend her highly.

Do not let their age deter you, Jamie and Annabel have everything that many of the youth of today lack; organisational skills, a sense of responsibility, solid work ethic and social skills beyond their years. And above all they enjoyed every task and as a result gained hugely in confidence and ability. They were always keen to offer more and to learn new skills. We trusted them implicitly to complete a multitude of jobs involving our animals which is no mean feat as we keep alpacas, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys and peacocks in considerable numbers. They had full responsibility for all the morning duties and perhaps to their surprise as time went on they carried out much more specialised jobs like medicating the animals and cutting the horns of sheep. They stayed for a month and we appreciated every moment of it. Enjoy your travels around the world and hopefully we’ll meet again in the future!

I had an incredible experience at this animal sanctuary! The team is amazing — professional, friendly, and very organized. There’s plenty of free time to relax or explore, and the food is absolutely delicious and vegan. Everyone on staff is warm and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves animals and wants a well-run, supportive environment
