We are a noisy, fun, busy, affectionate, loving family, non conventional with good morals and follow gentle parenting but with discipline and boundaries.
Mum is a Londoner and works in television Dad is from Scotland and a ex professional golf player. Our eldest Son Leo is 13 and very sporty and loves playing football & basket ball and being active in the garden. Alexandra is 12 and very girly and enjoys art and making jewellery. Scarlett is 10 and loves to draw, learning to read and our youngest Sadie is 6. Both parents currently work from home so you would be spending a lot of time with the parents. All children attend school around the corner from 8.45 - 3.30.
We live in North London Winchmore Hill which is a safe, beautiful, friendly green leafy village and our house is 2mins from the train station which takes you into central London in 20 minutes. Our house is 6 bedrooms with lots of space and you will have your own room.. There are lots of beautiful & parks and activities in the area and we are lucky that we l
We follow healthy living which is important to us so we also like to cook healthy meals which include meat and love being outside with nature.
We have a rescue cat called Cracker who is very dear and an important part of the family. We can only take someone who enjoys animals and will help with feeding etc, He also likes attention and someone to play with and to add he is a beautiful cat who is very chilled.
There are challenges with children as they are developing and learning so patience is important and ideally some experience with children is helpful and we always ask for a reference. Two of our children have ADHD, so parenting is challenging combined with pre-teens, you need lots of patience :)
Ideally we would like someone who can multi task, juggle and move quickly as it's a fast environment here. If you have had waitressing experience then this is a bonus. We really would like someone that would stay longer term but would consider short term opportunities.
This is really a cultural exchange and we need someone who engages and wants to get to know our family and shares culture from their country and is genuinely interested in family life.
This is paid work and looking for someone who has a visa to work in the UK.

Learn about our English/Scottish culture and practice language skills as always someone around to speak with in a safe, friendly, warm caring home. We have lots of recommendations on what to do and see whilst you are staying in London so you can make the most of your experience. We enjoy learning about your culture too and have had someone living with us for the last 4 years from different countries around the world and enjoy the company and learning something new. It's great experience for someone to learn about the world through childrens eyes and understand the importance of their development.
Helping tidy up in the kitchen after breakfast & clean after dinner. Putting on a wash and help Mum with some housework. Cooking healthy meals Monday - Friday. Playing sport in the garden with the children. Helping kids with getting dressed in the morning and bedtime too. Double room/bed with shared bathroom in large spacious house with garden which is 2 minutes from the train station.
We can buy the snacks that you enjoy for breakfast and lunch so you can make this independently but we cook and eat our evening meal together which is around 6pm. It's a noisy affair but we have a big table for all of us to sit together.

We live 2 minutes from the station and it's a 20 minute train ride into the centre of London for those that want to explore. It's a beautiful green village that we live in with lots of parks and nice walks along with good coffee shops close by.

My stay at Louise and Raymonds place was lovely! The children are sweet and accepted me within minutes and the work wasn't hard or unreasonable. I'm really gonna miss the family and I hope we'll see each other again!
Anto was incredibly hardworking and helped with any tasks/jobs that we needed help with and I felt fully supported and able to reach out when we needed emotional and physical help.
She is very kind and full of energy and the kids really liked her company and I also enjoyed talking to her . I fully trusted her to take my children out on day trips… read more and also to watch them at home .
She taught my youngest maths and really helped her to develop this skill.
I just finished my time with Louise and Raymond’s family, and I’m very happy with the experience I had. From the very first day, they welcomed me with so much kindness and warmth, and truly made me feel part of the family.
We worked together, facing the challenges of daily life. I’ll always treasure the time spent with each of the kids — cooking… read more with Lexie, organizing the wardrobe with Scarlett, making huge progress in math with Sadie, and having our morning chats with Leo.

I had a wonderful stay with this family. I spent most of my time with the three girls, who are very kind and endearing. The parents were really nice and always available to answer questions or help with any problems.

We have had such positive experiences with workaway girls in the past that are friends for life and always welcome to visit in London but this was a totally different experience. #redacted text# In her free time she would turn her back to you and just look on the phone, it was very awkward.
Jule told us that she liked children and had experience… read more but she did not engage with them and in fact anyone else in our house as a matter of fact. There was no team spirit and it felt like she treated our home like a hotel with expecting to be cooked for and not helping to tidy up afterwards or offer to help with preparing. She was unhappy to help with tasks that we had initially agreed. #redacted text#
She found another family and hopefully that worked out for her #redacted text#
On a positive I can say that she was really quick to pick up the tasks of getting the kids our the door for school with hair, pack lunches etc and her English is a good level #redacted text#.

At first, I was really excited to join this family. They were very nice and they made it seem like I could genuinely be like a big sister, as they claimed in their document. I was excited to be a part of their family.
Even though the post said I wouldn't get any monetary compensation for my work, the work environment seemed fair. The post claimed… read more I would be welcomed into a very nice family and only do light housework. This was sadly NOT the case! Not even two weeks after arriving, I had to make the very hard decision to leave this family due to the unbearable conditions.
Such as:
1. Doing physically tough housework for multiple hours per week.
2. Having to clean the parents bedroom and laundry.
3. Telling me to paint the house for one hour each week.
4. Locking the kitchen at night. So I wasn't able to drink water or have breakfast in the morning before having to start work.
5. Treating me like a live in maid and not like an AuPair (3/4 of the work was cleaning, 1/4 was childcare).
6. The in the post communicated hours I was supposed to work (4 to 5 hours) were barely acknowledged. I often needed to work more.
7. #redacted text#
8. After communicating my problems, I was met with passive aggressiveness and it was made impossible to find a compromise.
9. I was made to feel horrible for wanting to leave this toxic environment. They said that I needed to stay at least two more weeks or I was a horrible person for leaving them in a tough spot. Hypocritically, later on the same day I was pressured to move out immediately, leaving me basically homeless in a foreign country.
In conclusion, I was physically and emotionally exploited and I wouldn't wish this on anybody .

I stayed with this lovely family for almost 4 months, and I really enjoyed my time with them a lot. When it got a bit colder we spent a lot of our time in the big living room and in the kids bedrooms, colouring together (the kids are all very good at arts and crafts, its a joy), playing lego and board games. The weekends i had to myself, and i had plenty time to go into central London and explore, which I loved doing a lot. All in all my four months in London were absolutely amazing and am so grateful for it! Saying goodbye wasnt easy at all and im sure ill be visiting this lovely family when i get to!
