They are very kind. All animals in their farms are very sweet, and trust humans without any fear of pain cause they never use it. Animals understand all you want, you can teach they your own language with the use of "music of your voice" attributed to an existing order and just change phoneme. Some of their horses agree to learn just with affection and time, but not all : Lara teaches me we need carrots or little aversive stimulation and remove it when the animal does what you want. For short : they are very peaceful with their animals and know many things about free pain/fear animals education. In this family, some may look rude the first time, but hide a big heart deeply. They are very cultured, and have lot of tolerance. Their library includes many, many language, like a little drop of all the European ocean. Their communication is also a strange mix of different using : sometimes they don't speak at all, other time communication is very complex, with many uncommon and explained concepts. I hope I will adapt myself more easily the next time I meet this communication type. Their house is like a museum, and all is trapped : an old doors blocked and you can open it just with the good tips,... But don't worry we quickly accommodate ourselves and it is funny. I really loved this experience on Dogs island (Mayreau Island), I was able to meet Gill and Steven who was there at that time, very nice peoples who are trying there best to help the dogs and give them better life... There are 2 houses one in Dogs House and Gloria house (very near each other) The volunteers take care of the dogs walk them, o feed them and give them medicine to those who need it... I recommend at 100% for dogs lover... A tip bought all your food for your stay before to take the ferry...

Mia stayed with us for 2 weeks and was a great help at the centre. She would do the requested tasks in a very timely manner. She was very flexible, adapting immediately to the daily changing tasks and took initiative when needed. She was also friendly, warm and great to have conversations with. She is a great asset to anyones team.

Pasé dos semanas inolvidables en Valparaíso en el hostal! Felipe y su equipo son acogedores, disponibiles y flexibles. el hostal tiene buena onda y pronto me sentí parte de un grupo de trabajo y amigos. gracias a Miguel, el administrador, las tareas son bien organizadas y claras, el trabajo es bien explicado y hay un muy bueno equilibrio con el tiempo libre. Recomiendo seguramente la experiencia si estas en Valpo

Valentine and Emile are a wonderful couple: always available, willing, they helped us a lot with the work in the garden and in the house and they prepared delicious crepes for us. Too bad the weather wasn't very sunny... we look forward to seeing you for a next stay. Thank you very much, have a good trip to new workaways.

Rob was an absolutely outstanding Workaway volunteer, hands-down the best we’ve ever hosted! His incredible handyman skills meant no issue was too big or small for him to tackle—whether it was fixing a leaky pipe, leveling furniture, or troubleshooting a dryer, Rob handled everything with expertise and efficiency. He was always ready to lend a hand, day or night, with a positive attitude and unwavering reliability. His dedication and willingness to go above and beyond made him an invaluable part of our team. We can’t recommend Rob highly enough to any host lucky enough to have him!

We absolutely enjoyed hosting Zsombi and recommend him as a Workaway. He was really friendly, engaging, and hard working. Zsombi helped us with general manual labor on our urban farm - everything from digging up raspberry shoots to planting to extending our drip irrigation. He was always up to the task, a quick and diligent learner, made sure to check in and ask questions, and didn't need any supervision. We enjoyed having him in our home, learning about him and his journey, and his excellent guitar playing. He was comfortable around and friendly with our children, they really enjoyed having him around.

I spent an amazing week with Brigitte and Stefan. They are very kind and interesting people. We had long chats over meals, what were always amazing, both of them are great cooks! Always 3 course meals, i am very impressed, we were very well fed! I loved listening to their stories and they were also interested in us. There was two other helpers during my stay,Josh and Anna (I shared a room with Anna for 3 days), both of them are very nice people we went on a hike together and visited Menton. I believe the 5 of us were a great team! We helped in the garden and around the house, cleaning some cabins, chairs, weeding... After dinner sometimes we played rummikub. The location is amazing to explore Monaco, Eze, Menton,Cap Martin...etc a lot to do and see in the area. If you will not have a vehicle you must love walking, there are a lot of stairs to go down on to get to the bus stop, but it is an amazing walk with nice views. I really enjoyed my time with Brigitte, i feel very lucky that i had the chance to stay and be hosted by her. The whole family is super kind and includes the helpers in everything, they are also very well travelled and have the best life experiences/stories to share. Thank you

Lorenzo was a fantastic guest — he mainly helped with gardening and some construction tasks, always eager to learn and ready to lend a hand with anything. He worked independently and with care, paying close attention to what was needed. He’s also very respectful and easy to live with; we shared many great days, deep conversations, and delicious meals he cooked. I’d gladly host him again anytime!

I stayed for one very peaceful month with Fred and his family, Fred would invite me and the other workaway everywhere he went and we saw many many beautiful parts of France with him, but my favourite place to pass the time was sat in his beautiful garden Tasks changed day to day from gardening, cooking, or just helping Fred with the odd job. We always had huge and delicious meals from all the family and Fred made sure we never went hungry. They are an open minded, welcoming and very funny family who I would recommend to any workaday seeking an immersive experience in rural France. Thank you Fred and all the family, I hope to see you all again in the future :)

Staying with Jan and Kristine was an absolute pleasure. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with such warmth and generosity that we instantly felt at home. They went out of their way to make us comfortable, sharing some delicious meals with us, including traditional Norwegian meatballs. Beyond the great food, Jan and Kristine shared a lot of knowledge about the area, giving us tips that helped us make the most of our time in Bergen. Thanks to them, we explored some areas we wouldn’t have that ended up being the highlight of our time there. Work-wise, we painted the deck, some outside walls, and cleaned some windows. The tasks were clear, and they genuinely appreciated our efforts. The location was another highlight – just a 30-minute bus ride to the heart of Bergen, making it super easy to explore during our downtime. All in all, Jan and Kristine were incredibly gracious hosts, and we can’t thank them enough for such a great experience.

I had an amazing time here. I volunteered during april which was the low season (middle of fall) which was really nice as it allowed me to spend time painting the walls of the hostel, going on many walks with Moka and discover the beautiful town of Rada Tilly and the surrounding area. Lau was super nice and gave us a lot of freedom to organise and work in a way that worked best for us, he was very understanding and always made me feel welcomed. I highly recommend this workaway!

This was an amazing experience. As my first Workaway, I was a little apprehensive but Daniela is really great, she helped me with anything I needed and was always making sure we we're enjoying ourselves. She valued our input and made me feel super welcomed from teh first day. I higly recommand this workaway to anyone who shares her passion for animals, if that is the case, then even the work you have to do will be super enjoyable as it mainly consists of walking and playing with the dogs. Daniela also speaks great english which was really nice since I spoke very little spanish when I arrived. Overall a 10 out of 10 experience, I miss all the dogs so much and really admire Daniela for all the work she does for them.

Contrary to the little time i have spent here, i have learnt and done so much. It felt like an island in the mountains with its own way of being. Max brings a warming atmosphere for people and for questions, with patience and humor. I have also fallen completely in love with the four dogs, who always seemed to be happy and welcoming hugs and cuddles. And the funny chickens and gang of geeses. The blossoming of the place, and the good atmosphere, show the soul and heart that has been, and are continued to be, put into it. Thank you so much for having us, it was a great experience.

Mara & Ben are simply the sweetest couple we had the luck to receive. Although comunication was not 100%, as our English was not perfect, i managed to explain what we wanted and even if they were not specialists in country life they realized all tasks almost to perfection. There sweetnes transpired over us and the house ambient was really tranquil. We loved their presence and good work and reafirm that they will allways be wellcome should they come back our way. We hope that any future host might apreciate their stay as much as we did.

I worked at the hotel as a dishwasher for almost four months. It's a family-run hotel. They work alongside you. I had a single room at the hotel, and they provided all my meals every day, including my days off.It helped me a lot in learning Italian. It's a shame I couldn't experience the town in the summer, because it must be very beautiful.The whole family was always very kind to me, especially Miriam and Silvia. I recommend it. A big hug.

Our two weeks in Ischia flew by. This island is truly amazing, full of beautiful places to discover and fascinating vegetation. Claudio has a deep knowledge of the island, and it’s clear how much he loves and appreciates its nature. Claudio also cared deeply about making sure that everyone staying with him understood the purpose of their time there and had clear, shared expectations. He has great respect for his guests, and just like for us, clear and understandable communication throughout the entire experience was important to him. We got to experience hiking in the mountains, riding electric bikes, and kayaking – unforgettable adventures and a surreal experience. Claudio also taught us how to prepare different Italian dishes that were simple yet incredibly delicious. It was a memorable and eye-opening experience for us. We hope that open-minded and understanding people will cross paths with Claudio – those who genuinely value his way of life- simple living where shared joy becomes greater. Grazie 🙏

If there were a prize for the best Workawayers of 2025, Sophie and Søren would undoubtedly take first place. It had been a long time since we felt such a natural connection with a Workaway couple—with them, it truly felt like we were living as one big family, sharing not only responsibilities but also laughter, stories, and many special moments. Over the two months they stayed with us, we had the pleasure of enjoying a number of cultural outings together, adding depth and joy to our time. Sophie and Søren are thoughtful, intelligent, and incredibly respectful. They are exceptionally clean, organized, and proactive—qualities that made our daily life run smoothly and helped us accomplish a great deal. Thanks to their presence, we were able to move forward with several important home and garden projects: we worked on preparing the area dedicated to art and music events, pruning and organizing the garden, repairing the wood shed, and oiling the doors. Every task became lighter and more enjoyable when done alongside them, thanks to their enthusiasm and teamwork. One especially touching memory is how Søren’s passion for film photography inspired both our neighbor and Pippo to begin building a darkroom to support his creative journey—an example of how their presence brought inspiration into our home. We already miss them and truly hope to welcome them back to Giaveno someday. Dear Sophie and Søren—may your path be filled with beauty, love, and light. Keep being exactly who you are ❤️

Fue una muy buena experiencia poder vivir y trabajar aquí. Disfruté mucho viviendo con Pili y José . Y el chef José cocina bien ;) El sentimiento de comunidad dentro de la familia, con los amigos y los habitantes del pueblo fue especialmente importante para mí. Gracias por el buen rato.

They were very kind and reliable. For example when they stayed all night to catch a cat and so on. They were also respectful and hard working. I wholeheartly recommend them and it was a pleasure to have them over here.
