I spent 5 months at the farm and it was an amazing experience! Konrad and Emmeline are great people and are willing to open up their home and businuss for you. I felt really welcome from the start. I helped out feeding and training the dogs aswell as doing tours with guests. We also did a lot of maintenance at the huge property. Besides that I met friends, did some assados, climbed the Villarica volcano and learnt a lot about the area. If you like to be busy, be arround a lot of dogs and learn new things, this is deffinetly the right place to go!! Thank you guys for everything 🙏🏻

Eszter was a wonderful person to have on our team. She was very patient and worked especially well with teenagers, creating a positive and engaging environment for them. She did an excellent job and showed great dedication in all her tasks. I can truly recommend her for any kind of work — she is responsible, punctual, kind, and hardworking. We really enjoyed working with her, and she is always welcome to come back to Colombia whenever she wishes. Thank you, Eszter, for everything! 🌟

My experience volunteering with Miki was incredible! I ended up loving it so much that i stayed there for 4 weeks! Its an incredibly beautiful area with jungle and river. The property is so big that you have to hike for 20 minutes to get to the other side (cool, right?) There is a big fruit forest and with Miki you'll get to try many fruits available there. We worked a few hours a day and I've learnt so much about farming - from how to use some tools that I'd never used before to cacao processing and making sugar cane juice. Some work could be physically demanding but nothing crazy :) In the afternoons after the work taking a dip in the river was a perfect escape from the heat. One of the biggest perks is a private waterfall and access to the river. There are also much bigger waterfalls not that far, it'll make a nice day hike. It's an off-grid farm so the access to the internet was limited. But that made the experience so much better 'cause i finally could explore the world instead of being in this social media bubble. It was nice to enjoy a chill, laid-back atmosphere. We played cards (i learnt one hungarian game and i taught him 2 russian card games), watched movies, played chess and cooked, which I've learnt a lot about like making coconut milk from scratch or preparing hummus from jack fruit seeds. And i cant help but mention 3 dogs and 2 cats that love on the farm. They are adorable! Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn about farming and enjoy being off the grid

We were so fortunate to have Salomé with us for a full month. From the very beginning she showed herself to be an incredibly hard worker, the type of person who rolls up her sleeves, jumps in, and does whatever needs to be done without hesitation. She has such a positive approach to work and life, and it shines through in every task she takes on. Salomé was a huge help with the animals, caring for them with patience, kindness, and a natural ease. She assisted with feeding routines, gave medications, and helped us weigh and health-check over 40 birds... a big job that she tackled with focus and good humor. She even helped whitewash our chicken coops, leaving them fresh and clean. Her contributions went far beyond animal care. She worked with us in the garden, helping to harvest vegetables and grapes, and made sure nothing went to waste. She was a steady hand in the kitchen, too, creative, resourceful, and always serving up something delicious. Salomé brings good conversation, laughter, and a lighthearted spirit that balances beautifully with her determined, hardworking nature. We are so happy we had this time with her. She not only accomplished a huge amount during her stay, but also brought a warmth and energy that we’ll miss. Any host would be lucky to welcome her ...she’s the kind of volunteer who truly makes a lasting difference. Wishing you safe and happy travels Salomé!!

Our family had the absolute pleasure of having Nadya volunteer with us for the last month. We cannot speak highly enough about her contributions, she demonstrated a combination of responsibility, maturity, and genuine care for everything she did. Our home was consistently kept clean and organized. In addition to keeping things in perfect order, Nadya prepared delicious, healthy meals that our family looked forward to each and every day. Nadya was dependable and willing to assist in every way possible. Whether it was managing unexpected tasks or simply being a calm, positive presence while interacting and playing with our children. The kids loved her and always looked forward to spending time together ❤️ Anyone would be incredibly lucky to have Nadya. Her work ethic, kindness, and professionalism are truly exceptional.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had Lukas with us. From the very beginning, it was clear he is one of those individuals who not only works hard, but does so with genuine care, kindness, and a sense of humor that makes every day lighter. He has such a natural way with animals and they trusted him right away. He treated each one with patience and love. Lukas is also the kind of person who sees what needs doing and simply steps in. Whether it was gardening, cleaning, helping my senior mom carry groceries, or caring for the animals, he approached every task with a positive attitude and a willingness to give his best. He has a gift for turning even routine chores into something enjoyable, and he goes above and beyond to keep the space running smoothly and filled with good energy. On top of all of that, he is funny, easy to talk to, and just a joy to have as part of the community here. His presence made a real impact not only on the daily workload but on the atmosphere of the sanctuary as a whole. We are already excited to welcome him back next year in the Spring and can honestly say that any host would be beyond lucky to have him. Lukas is one of those volunteers you never forget.

Misael & Alanah stayed with us on our hobby farm for almost three weeks in September. They were great company and fun to have stay with us for that time. They turned their hands to cleaning, painting, gardening, digging (yuk!), watering plants, guerneying, some cooking and a whole lot of other Spring jobs! They were incredibly respectful to all our farm and domestic animals and I have no hesitation in recommending them for your place! Safe and happy travels in Australia guys!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay with Sandra! She is such a kind and welcoming person, and everything was always very easy and uncomplicated with her. Even though we were traveling as two people, she spontaneously welcomed us without any problem. The work was super fair – never too long – and she was always very considerate of us. Most of the time we did gardening and weeding, which was enjoyable and rewarding. Sandra also has the sweetest animals: her lovely cats, charming sheep, and of course all the chickens made the experience even more special. She lives in a truly beautiful place, which made the stay even more memorable. On top of that, the food she prepared for us was delicious! Overall, it was a really great and heartwarming experience, and I’m very grateful for the time we could spend with her.

Aitor was the perfect host, friendly, interesting, inclusive, relaxed and outgoing. we did lots of different things together during my 10 day stay, from projects on the house ( new sink, front door improvements, plastering, back gate fitting etc) but we also did a lot of cultural experiences together too, walks, Fiestas, mushroom picking cooking and playing music together. He was very patient with my limited Spanish. And I learned lots during my stay. Overall an excellent experience.

For my first Workaway, i could not have wished for a better place then with George, Sophie and the kids. Their homestead is absolutely amazing. An old Italian stone mountain house hidden up in the hills of Tuscany in the middle of nowhere, and yet it feels like the middle of everywhere at the same time. So much to do, see and learn. George and Sophie try to live as self-sufficient as possible, with help of their animals. Goats, chickens, a cow, a friendly dog... they even have a panda which i got to nurse! You'll have to go and see and ask to believe ;-) Thank you so much for giving me the time of my life. All the best, and keep up the good work! And also a big thank you to the other Workawayers there, such a lovely small group of people! Take care and see you, Michaël

I had a truly wonderful experience staying here. From the first day, I felt welcomed and included as part of the household. The communication was clear, expectations were fair, and the tasks were meaningful and well-organized. The accommodation was comfortable and cozy, and the surrounding area was peaceful and beautiful — perfect for walks, relaxing, and connecting with nature. What should be a week it expended to few weeks, maybe a month. It really felt like we are roomates and friends sharing food and what happened in a day. Most of all, I’m grateful for the kindness, patience, and generosity of my host. He created a warm, respectful atmosphere where I felt valued. One thing is for sure; I left with good memories and one more friend in my life.

Rahel was here for four weeks and she was part of our „workawayers family“ from the beginning. Always there to help and a lot of really difficult work done - renovating a big chair in bad condition, sanding an old door with layers of old paint, paint it after primer and sanding again - and there was more wookwork ! Rahel tries new work with caution and planning, getting confortable on the way with stunning results - a whole old stonewall in the cellar had the gaps and holes filled and stabilisized. Rahel is a pleasure to be with, she is participating in all group activities - we cooked together and dinner in the evenings were a happy moment - new recepies and interesting discussions in French or English. I learned a lot about her studies and she explained also some medical issues, very interesting for me. I highly recommend Rahel with her sunny smile and her outstanding way to work. Rahel, I would love to see you again!

Charlotte and Her Two Amazing, Talented Children Charlotte arrived with her two teenage children. I was at first worried how it would work, as I hadn't hosted a family before, but Charlotte is so easy to talk to that we quickly found what would work best for us. It felt like we had known each other forever, and the entire stay was a wonderful experience. Apart from all other work, such as cooking and gardening, we had massive help with our little miniature horse, as Charlotte is a horse whisperer. We are now able to use the pony as a work horse. The children "locked" themselves in the workshop for two days and made us this amazing wooden gate that looks like it was made by professionals. They even designed it all themselves. Such dedication! My kids loved them, especially since the boy, who has neurodiversity, is a little genius who mastered programming and the 3D printer. The children were very quiet and polite but had amazing skills. I can only highly recommend Charlotte and her two amazing children. I would host her anytime again.

This was our first Workaway experience and for sure we can say that it set the bar high for our next ones. Nadine and Andrea are wonderful hosts and we are very greatful for the 3 weeks we spent together at the Finca. We shared many amazing stories and laughs. Every day we had the privilege to enjoy the delicious and original meals prepared by Nadine (honourable mentions - the homemade sourdough bread and the pesto). We learned a lot, having the opportunity to participate in different tasks around the Finca. The working hours were respected and the tasks were well explained, often performed together. We stayed in a well equipped and comfortable tent with a view of the ocean. It would be a pleasure to renturn, we already miss Nemo and Gnocchi (the cutest cats on the island according to Vili).

Thank you, Aurelia, for becoming a part of our family during this time 😊 You truly enjoy gathering new experiences and made working with friends in the team full of smiles and warmth. Most importantly, we are very grateful that you were willing to teach us how to cook European food, which allowed us to exchange cultures and learn new things together. The time we spent together on the farm passed so quickly, yet it was meaningful and filled with happiness. It was a wonderful moment where our family and the volunteers could share time together warmly. We feel lucky to have known you and spent this time with you, and we hope to meet again in the future

I booked a 2 night stay here before heading out to Lago de Atitlan. When I drove into Xela (Quetzaltenango) I had a good feeling and this feeling grew bigger when I entered the hostel. I immediately knew that my 2 night stay was way too short. After some talking with the previous volunteer and Javier (such a great guy) I found out I could work here and simultaneously learn spanish. And yes, this worked 100%! The work was chilled and an easy way to meet fellow travelers in the hostel. I had spanish lessons before or after work (or sometimes even during) and could study while welcoming guests at the door. Doing other stuff like laundry, cooking or reading was all possible, so I would say the work is very flexible! In my free time I did lots of hikes around, which was absolutely fabulous. After a good hike I could make some great food in the well equiped kitchen with the fresh groceries from the market in town. In the end I stayed almost 6 weeks and had such a nice time in Xela. I could definitely recommend it!

Jana and Mattia are incredible hosts. I had the pleasure of staying with them for a week, but I would have loved to stay with them much longer! In their splendid farmhouse I was able to savor the tranquility of country life... but if you decide to visit, know that you won't only be waiting for country chores (under Mattia and Jana's patience supervision) like taking care of the animals and the garden, fixing the road or restoring old equipment, but also lots of village festivals, trips with your hosts, great food and so many incredible stories to listen to. I recommend everyone come and breathe the atmosphere of Cascina Ghinghetta! Thank you so much for this experience, Jana and Mattia ✨
