we really enjoyed the company of this couple. It was a joy to have them around. We hardly had to ask them doing things, they had already seen it and started doing it, although the weather was very inclement. They were with us for 10 days together with other helpers and it for made a very harmonious and pleasant time and at the same time we got a whole lot done. At the end we were sorry to see them go, wishing them both the best for their future life and travels.

We spent three weeks with Fabienne and Kabire. During that time, we mainly worked in the garden but also took on a couple of tasks in the house. Fabienne and Kabire are very nice and friendly people with whom we had great conversations and were able to exchange about our cultures. We had a wonderful time and wish them both all the best.

This is such a beautiful place, exceeded my expectations! I was taking Spanish classes and my volunteer hours were for photography. I stayed for 2 weeks. This photo volunteer program is really self guided in terms of how you spend your hours, there is no strict schedule, but working around my Spanish classes, and the many activities run here, I found this system worked well for me. The 1 on 1 Spanish classes are so good. A really refreshing and engaging style of teaching, I was able to learn more grammar but also have conversations about topics i'm actually interested in. All the teachers are great and bring their own personality and flavor to the classes. The owners Jesse & Carlos are super super sweet people, dedicated to making this place and the experience for students/volunteers/guests as easy and comfortable as possible. All the staff here are so lovely, always willing to help or answer questions. The food in the restaurant is really tasty, but I did find that for me, the portions were a little small. I adjusted to this after the first week, and also bought myself some snacks to supplement. I swam in the river every day, did my own yoga, walked around the local area and thoroughly enjoyed my free time here. One thing to note, depending on what room you are placed in, you may not have access to a hot shower. If I needed it, I just asked one of the Volunteers in another room if I could use their hot shower, no problem. Would highly recommend!

I honestly don't know where to start. My boyfriend and I left another Workaway in Thailand after having a bit of a bad experience and took a risk on an expensive flight to Chiang Rai to volunteer at a hostel. Two weeks later and we are crying on the next leg of our travels, wishing we could have stayed for longer! We are already planning our trip back. This hostel is amazing. If you're lucky enough to get a volunteering spot here, go! Some things I love about the hostel: 1. The chill, social vibe. You're on shift for 5 hours, either morning, afternoon or evening. You actually work for about two hours (hanging up laundry, check ins, emptying trash, making beds and checking soap / shampoo supplies, organising day trips) and then the other three you're just chilling, chatting in the garden getting to know people from all over the world! 2. OMG the beds! They are SO comfortable, the sheets are so soft and the volunteer dorm is so clean, has lockers, shelves and privacy curtains. It's so cozy. Perfect place to escape if you need to recharge your social battery for a bit! 3. The evening activities! Every night it's some form of game or activity or trip to the reggae bar (but never pressure to drink). I was laughing every night and always getting to know new people. My favourite was definitely the social bingo! Most of all, we had the most magical experience. The "social but not party" vibe is perfect and hits the best balance. We met people from Iceland to Venezuela, saw so much of Chiang Rai, and even watched the sunrise on a mountain looking over Laos. The guests, other volunteers, V and Kanoon (and of course Natthida, Luma and Lucy) are really what make the place what it is. I feel like I have a home away from home, where I will be welcomed with open arms, always. I am so grateful for this amazing experience. Thank you guys, we will see you again ❤️

Charles came with his friend Guillaume, they were fantastic! Having studied civil engineering, they fitted exactly into what we had to do with knowledge and ability. Among several other jobs, we put up a small solar pannel system on a bank below the house and built a small technical room out of concrete blocks. They were excellent helpers, very motivated, good company, very social and we had a lot of fun with them, discussing and playing games. Charles speaks very good english and is a very good cook, they produced some very delicious french meals. They stayed 3 weeks and we were very sorry to see them leave.

Alessandro is an incredibly warm and likeable person — versatile, curious, and gifted, someone with whom it would never get boring. He is wonderfully easy-going and was absolutely kind and responsible with the horses as well. It was truly beautiful having you here, Alessandro, and you are welcome back anytime. We hope life lets us meet at least twice!

The olive harvest here was an immersion in an authentic and supportive community environment, where we all shared both hard work and laughter, culminating in an exceptional quality extra virgin olive oil 🫒✨. Giovanni excels in organisation and leadership, skilfully managing relationships and wisely delegating according to each person's abilities. The trust he placed in me by assigning key tasks – not always delegated to others – made me feel an integral part of this winning team, an unforgettable experience! 🙌🌿

It was an absolute pleasure having Charles with us for almost 7 weeks. He was a great worker getting stuck in to a wide variety of tasks, wood processing, plastering, painting, woodwork etc all with a willing attitude. He was easy going and a great addition to the team socially, making us laugh and sharing music! He was also wonderful with our 8 month old baby keeping an eye on her at mealtimes and playing with her. It was great to have you with is Charles! Good luck with your next steps ✨

Martje and Malte volunteered with us at the school for one month, teaching German to our students. From the first day, they were reliable, punctual, and very well-prepared for their lessons. They quickly built a positive rapport with learners of different ages and levels, creating a friendly and motivating classroom atmosphere. Their classes were dynamic and engaging, combining clear explanations with practical activities, games, and real-life communication tasks. They adapted well to our context, were open to feedback, and showed real commitment to helping our students improve their German. Outside class time, they were always respectful, easy to communicate with, and integrated very smoothly into the daily life of the center. We are very grateful for their contribution and would gladly host them again. I fully recommend Martje and Malte to any future host looking for responsible, kind, and dedicated volunteers, especially for language teaching projects.

This guy is incredible! Extremely knowledgeable and one of the most useful volunteers we've had here. He helped us design systems to improve our water setup—including treated water for guests—and created plans to upgrade our water treatment system and biofilters. His expertise made a real impact here. We’d love to have him back anytime.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to know Lawrence well since I was sick during the week he volunteered with us. But Carlos had great things to say—he mentioned that Lawrence was always happy to help and a genuinely nice guy to have around. We’d happily welcome him back whenever he wants to return.
