Linley and Mike are truly wonderful people. They did not treat me simply as a Workawayer, but as a real person — with warmth, kindness, and genuine care. They were incredibly patient with my limited English, always communicating with smiles and encouragement, and never making me feel rushed or embarrassed. I was given full access to all facilities, and pizza, meals and homemade bread they offered was absolutely fantastic. The work was reasonable, flexible, and never overwhelming. Even though the tasks were not difficult, they always made sure I felt comfortable — sometimes even offering a short break with tea or coffee, which I deeply appreciated. During my stay, I had a minor injury, and they kindly took the time to drive me to the hospital and continuously checked in to make sure I was okay. I felt as if I were staying with caring parents rather than just hosts. Everyone I met there — other workawayers, neighbors, the postman, their daughter and grandson — was warm, gentle, and genuinely beautiful people. Over the five weeks I spent there, I received so much comfort, healing, and emotional support. It will remain a precious and unforgettable chapter of my life. Thank you so much, and I truly hope to see you again. Even though I’m slightly worried that writing such a good review might make it harder for me to return someday, I still highly, highly recommend this place. It is nothing less than a piece of heaven.

I spent an incredible 3 weeks with Bülent, Ivett, and their lovely family. They are both such relaxed, generous, and curious people who I had many great conversations with and learned so much from. I spent most of my time in the village with Bülent's parents, where the work was very much initiative based. My days were usually spent cleaning/tidying the hotel rooms & around the property, as well as filming and editing some content for their social media page. On the weekends Bülent and Ivett would come and stay in the village, and I would help them either in their very large garden harvesting various fruits/vegetables, or with olive picking due to the season (late October/November). I also got to help Ivett start a BIG deep clean of the outdoor kitchen during my last few days, which I wish I could've seen through... I bet the place is sparkling by now😆 I would definitely recommend staying in Zeytinada with Bülent and his family. I really enjoyed being around all 3 generations of the family (their 2 young kids are hilarious and full of energy), there was always plenty of delicious Turkish food and fresh produce to go around, and I felt very welcomed from day 1! This was a great way to experience a quiet, peaceful life in the Turkish countryside.

Rinka brought the sunshine to our place with her open attitude and beeing in good mood from early in the mornings to late in the evenings. She was open to all the tasks we asked her to support us with and worked on them with great commitment. She was loved by Belinda and Odin as well and made it possible for us to visit our parents in Germany together for the first time after 8 years taking care of Belinda and Odin during our absence like she had adopted both and especially taking care of Odins special diet. We still enjoy eating the blueberry ice cream she prepared after her own recipe in small portions because we want to extend the joy eating it and remembering the time with her. Her open manner made it possible for her to stay in the mind of the owners of the bakery and the kiosk in the village who talked warm to us about her visits there by bike on her days off. We definitely would love to have her around again whenever she considers travelling again and recommend to every host wellcoming her. Hope to see you soon again Rinka.

Tom & Peace were really lovely to have here. They needed little to no direction beyond a general plan, and they immediately understood the tone, style, and vibe of what we were trying to create. They produced a great mix of social content for us: videos, photos, and a couple of short-form pieces. Their initiative was excellent; they explored the property on their own, asked smart questions when necessary, and were genuinely thoughtful about capturing what makes our place special. If you’re looking for a couple who can create quality content with minimal oversight, and who are lovely humans to have in your space, we’d happily recommend Tom & Peace. We’d welcome them back anytime.

I couldn’t have asked for a better first workaway experience than the time I spent in Kaeo with Tori, Julz and little Louie. I felt so welcome at their warm and beautiful home. I enjoyed learning tons about gardening from Tori during the day, and it was a pleasure to be out in the sun and getting stuck in! I also appreciated evening chats with Julz (even after he’d been grafting at work all day!) and learning more about Kiwi life. Louie was an absolute star, easily the happiest baby I’ve met! It was such a joy to be around him, and you can tell by his nature that he has such loving parents. I’m so glad that I made it up to the Northlands, as it wasn’t somewhere necessarily on my radar - it felt like a real slice of NZ life, and they showed me around all the local spots and allowed me plenty of time to explore the area. I couldn’t recommend them enough, and looking forward to staying with them again in then new year - thanks guys!

I stayed at Vita’s home for 3 weeks, i was originally meant to stay for 4, but i had last minute commitments to attend to and Vita was understanding about the whole situation, so I really appreciated that :) Getting to her place is simple, and her listing is very detailed. She’s clear, communicative, and always replies promptly. She also checks in to make sure you arrive safely, which I really appreciated. Vita is incredibly helpful and truly takes care of you throughout your stay! On my first day, after she picked me up from belgrave, she immediately helped me to set up both my bank account and TFN! We even went to watch the sunset at Sky High Mount Dandenong afterwards which was a very lovely welcome. You will be very VERY fed there, I missed my asian food, so Vita brought rice for me (it was the most rice she has ever had HAHA), not to forget all the delicious recipes she has; she made lasagna, bacon cheese gnocchi, mango banana smoothie (perfect after a hot day of working in the garden) chocolate banana ice cream (yummy sweet dessert after our meals). She always says, you work hard in the garden she works hard in the kitchen :) The work itself could be physically demanding (but anyone who normal fitness would be fine) i mainly did mowing, weeding, raking, pruning. On rainy days we cleaned and organised the barn. Work hours are clear, fair and flexible; usually 7am–1pm or 8am–2pm depending on the weather. If you want a specific day off, you can simply work a bit more on another day as long as you complete your 25 hours per week. During my time here, I got to see so much of the area: Puffing Billy, Sky High Mount Dandenong, the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden, Olinda village, Belgrave town, and even some big shopping malls (Knox, Eastland) where I settled my mobile data. When she isn’t too busy, Vita sometimes drops you at Belgrave Station if you want to go to the city. She has a lot of love and passion for her garden, and has taught me many new flowers and the little critters in the backyard! I got lucky to be there during spring time and watched many of the flowers bloom (including lilly of the valley)!! She even prepared small vases for me to display the flowers I picked which was very sweet of her. As for accommodation, the barn and house aren’t available at the moment, so it’s currently best for solo travellers; there’s a single bed in the kitchen. Vita makes sure you’re always comfortable and warm, even preparing hot water bottles for you at night. I will really miss our banters and conversations over meals, thank you Vita for taking such good care of me and for being so much fun! Looking forward to see how the garden and barn will develop in the future!

I spent 3 weeks at the abbey in September and it was such a beautiful experience, I wish I'd stayed longer! I really loved the communal way of life here and it was easy to connect with others. The work was generally peaceful and enjoyable, I mostly worked in the orchard or in the kitchen. You have plenty of free time to relax, explore or spend time with the other workawayers. The food and sleeping conditions are very comfortable. I was really impressed by how well-organised the community is. I remember saying to the other volunteers that I felt like I didn't need or want for anything while I was there, like the communal way of life surrounded by nature met almost all of our needs. We all said that we felt genuinely happy and we still miss it now. It's a lovely environment and I'd love to come back or visit another one of the abbeys belonging! Merci beaucoup 🌸

Even though I only stayed with Tara for a week, I’ve never felt so warmly welcomed in any of my previous Workaways. He helped us with the bus tickets to reach the town and even arranged a tuk-tuk to pick us up and bring us to his home. Living in his house with him and his family allowed me to enjoy all the small details of the slow life I’ve always been searching for. Planting potatoes in the morning was surprisingly fun, and visiting the school, although sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming, filled my heart with the children’s laughter and joy. I had the pleasure of meeting his wife, Anjana, an incredibly beautiful woman. We talked about the differences between our cultures, and sometimes we cooked together. One evening my friend and I made pizza for the family; I truly hope they enjoyed it, even though we’re definitely not expert chefs! I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to reconnect with that part of themselves that is easy to forget in the rush of everyday life. Thank you Tara!

Lucie is “ooh la la” — a true delight! From the very first meeting, everyone on the team adored her and didn’t want her to leave. Even on her first day, Lucie fit in seamlessly, as though we had known her for years. Her hand-sewing skills are impeccable — she even put in new seams on one of my kaftans with precision and care. Beyond her craftsmanship, Lucie was often the glue that held the team together, helping create a warm, cohesive atmosphere as new members joined in the stay. Thank you Lucie for helping make a very large team a dream team. Lucie has a big heart, and glad to be part of our family. She always shows gratitude and kindness in everyday. And seems happy to be in the kitchen cooking, baking prepping etc. She has an exceptional eye for detail, a great sense of humour, and a naturally social, easy-going personality. Lucie also picked up English quickly and communicates beautifully. I was able to confidently send her away with a small team to our Newcastle home…and was so glad she got share that experience. Lucie is one of those rare, special young women who bring both skill and spirit to everything they do — an absolute joy to work with and host.

I really enyojed the stay with Kylie, the girls and their dog Molly. There was not to much to do, so I had a lot of free time to visit Mornington, Frankston and the beach. The family is very open, so it was very easy for me to arrive and have a good time. All in all I can extremely recommend this host! Thanks for the stay:)

(I don’t know why my review doesn’t appear anymore, so I repost it again ☺️ - maybe shorter this time! 🥲). Staying with Anja, Pipo and Alberto was honestly magical ✨. This was my very first Workaway and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better start! 💗 Their home in Terrigal felt like a little cocoon from the moment I arrived. Ania has this warm, gentle way of making you feel instantly at ease. I felt safe, welcomed, and almost like part of a family, and that meant a lot while travelling so far from home ❤️. The tasks were simple, clear, and really well explained. The whole place carries a soft and caring energy, which I’m sure comes both from the beautiful environment and from the lovely souls who live there (humans and dogs included 🐶🥰). Anja looks after dogs during the day, and for anyone who loves dogs, it’s honestly a dream. Her own dog, Pipo, is a lovely golden doodle! I also met her partner, Alberto, over the weekend. He has such a kind heart and made me feel even more included. Even though I stayed only a few days, this experience with them really touched me. I left feeling lighter, calmer, and deeply grateful 🩷. The house is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and about a 20-minute walk to the beach, perfect for recharging 🌊✨. I 100% recommend staying with them. If you’re looking for kindness, authenticity, and a home filled with gentle energy, this is the place 🍃. Anja truly has a big heart, but I’ll let you discover that for yourself 💛🧡❤️.

Owain was a pleasure to have around. From the moment he arrived, his good nature and easygoing personality was clear. He was great with our baby and incredibly helpful around the house, even outside of his allocated work hours, pitching in with dinner preparations and cleaning up afterwards. He was a fantastic worker, consistently going above and beyond. Owain didn’t muck around! He got the job done efficiently and without complaint. He often did more than what was expected and took real pride in his work. He is a lovely young man and is always welcome in our home. You won’t regret hosting Owain.

We had two great weeks in Sawai’s place and couldn’t be better. We spent one week in Jaisalmer helping in the deep cleaning activity (because the hotel was still in construction and not open to the public) and one week at the camp (serving tables, cleaning, collecting garbage and helping in the kitchen). We immediately felt part of the family, both in the town and in the camp. Sawai and his brother are very nice, helpful and kind men. In the desert we had the opportunity to join some tours (stargazing and camel safari). The tasks were simple and flexible, we had a lot of free time. We truly recommend this workaway if you have time to spend in Jaisalmer.

Very cool peeps and excelled at what I thought they could do. Tom is great with sorting computer systems and streamlining with AI/ bots and other tricky tech business while Lou is excellent at crafts and DIY. Was a pleasure to host them and I was sorry to see them go. Very much recommend.

One of the best staff I ever had! Even though he is very young, Jacob is incredibly mature and responsible. After hearing instructions or feedback just once or twice, he immediately improved. I was especially impressed in the beginning — after receiving feedback on check-ins, he quickly started adding small talk on his own and handled check-ins like someone with years of experience. He also tried to help everyone even outside of his working hours, and each of his actions was genuinely touching. Just yesterday, he proactively helped carry a guest’s luggage. Many people only notice these things after I point them out, but Jacob did them naturally, without being told. That meant a lot to me. I don’t know what career path he’ll choose in the future, but I’m sure he’ll succeed anywhere he goes. Thank you, Jacob.<3<3<3<3<3<3 You will always have a home here in Hiroshima — come back anytime.
