Lola stayed with our family for three weeks this year, and we truly cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She was helpful in every way imaginable and quickly became such a special part of our home. Lola prepared delicious, healthy meals daily and baked with a level of skill that made us feel like we were living in a little corner of France — everything she made was exceptional. She was incredibly energetic, warm, and fully engaged with our children. Whether she was taking them swimming, going on walks, playing basketball, or having long, meaningful chats with them, she connected with each of them in such a genuine and joyful way. Our kids absolutely adored her. Lola also took on every project and task with enthusiasm and excellence. No matter what we asked of her, she approached it with care, responsibility, and a level of professionalism that truly stood out. Everything she did, she did superbly. Lola is an extraordinary person, and we miss her dearly. Any family would be incredibly fortunate to have her — she is truly one of a kind.

I had an amazing month and a half with Ana in Monteverde! We talked via WhatsApp to determine how to best communicate and the tasks I needed to do before I arrived which was helpful and set us up for a great exchange. I was happy to join the home and help with small chores daily in addition to my work on her website to make the exchange as smooth as possible and like I wasn't just a guest in her home. We formed an amazing bond and became great friends during our time together. Her animals are also the sweetest! I communicated what weekends I wanted to explore and that was no problem for her. Her garden is beautiful and she offers so much in return for your help. Thank you, Ana, for everything :)

It was an amazing experience. Karen is very kind and funny. I enjoyed all my time with her, and we had excellent conversations. She cooked really nice dishes, and was always attentive to me. It was a perfect first workaway for me, I felt at home, and I think I made a new friend. I highly recommend going to Karen's house. I can assure you it will be a great time with her.

Flore and Isee were a nice addition to our home this year. They joined us for a quick two-week visit at the end of their time in Canada. Both young ladies brought such positive energy; they were engaged and active, and this allowed our kids to really enjoy spending time with them. They also assisted with meal preparation - creating delicious, nourishing meals for the whole family, and supported various household tasks to help keep our home running amongst the everyday chaos. There were a few areas where a bit more attention to detail would have been appreciated, particularly with staying organized and completing tasks thoroughly. With a little more care and mindfulness in these areas, I believe they will continue to grow and be even more successful in future placements. Overall, we enjoyed having them with us and appreciated the enthusiasm they brought to our family! :)

I very much recommend this host if you are looking to have some quiet time to wind down in nature while also wanting to learn about mexican culture and dive into mexican life in a pretty small untouched town (15 min by foot). Thank you so much Flores and Samu for making my first workaway such a lovely and wholesome experience. Hope to see you again, either in Switzerland or during my next trip. Much love from Basel Tara

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit bei Anne und Moriz! Die Arbeit war sehr abwechslungsreich und es hat uns großen Spaß bereitet mit Valentin zu arbeiten. Das Traktor und Bagger fahren war unser persönliches Highlight und wir bedanken uns für das Vertrauen dass uns kontinuierlich entgegengebrachte wurde! Die große Menge an Gastfreundschaft und das sehr gemütliche Tiny House führten dazu, dass wir uns von Anfang an wohlfühlten. Jördis und ich werden das fantastische Essen und die tollen Gespräche sehr vermissen!

​SJ and Diwr stayed at our home through Workaway, taking care of the house while we were away. They are a very kind and polite young couple, easy to communicate with—English was our main language, as they are still learning Spanish and making an effort. They are trustworthy and respectful, although a bit reserved for our local Uruguayan culture, but always correct and friendly in their manners. Regarding their responsibilities, they completed part of the tasks we had agreed on. They are willing and have good intentions​. They​ are gaining experience and ​need clear guidance and step-by-step instructions​ as we all do when we are learning. ​ ​They are honest and well-meaning people, reliable in looking after the house, and ​we truly wish them the very best in finding their place in the world.

This place feels like a second home to me now. It really is a great community with a lot of open minded people and it is great for unwinding and being more mindful. I met amazing people there which I'm still in contact with. Overall it really was a great first Workaway and I learned a lot of things about myself and also new skills as we did very interesting workshops. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I'm really grateful I was able to stay there for two months. Thank you so much for everything. :)

A contagious smiley and energetic personality that gave us a beautiful sense of lightening and harmony! Very well mannered and sociable person who has a particular positive energy that is being very welcome! Emma is a very funny and expressive girl. Every night we were dining together and we always had a good time laughing and chatting with Erika, her roommate (trailer mate). She is been very committed and in every task she had always made an excellent job! I also have to mention that she's among the few workaweyers who spontaneously offered to open the gate and constantly helped with drying the dishes! Fantastic girl! Good job Emma! This was such a special place to stay, I can't recommend it enough! The work was rewarding but the people really made it, they are a fantastic bunch who are such fun to live with! The animals are the cherry on top, you'll leave wanting dogs, turkeys, horses and maybe even ducks

Sabrina, Mirko und die Kinder sind eine super liebe Familie. Sie sind sehr verständnisvoll und ich konnte mich bei Sorgen problemlos an sie wenden. Die Küche ist wunderschön und man hat alles zur Verfügung. Die Vorratskammer hat auch alles was das vegane Herz begehrt und man findet sich nach etwas Zeit gut zurecht, weil alles sehr organisiert ist. Ich hatte eine schöne Zeit da und wenn man gerne wandern geht und die Natur mag, ist die Umgebung perfekt. Vielen Dank, dass ich da sein durfte. :)

Liz is an amazing person with so much knowledge about the Interlaken region and gardening, always willing to share it. I had such a great time helping with small construction projects and gardening, wish i could stay longer. The surroundings are amazing, the food was fresh and good, and we had a great time together.

Jan and Jenske were my very first Workawayers, and I can honestly say I had a fantastic time with them. They exceeded all my expectations, and I would have loved to host them even longer, but unfortunately they already had further travel plans. I can wholeheartedly recommend them to any future host. They are hardworking, fun, educated, tidy, and incredibly loving with my dogs. There is truly nothing I could criticize or would have wanted any differently. All in all, an amazing first Workaway experience! Thank you guys! :)

My stay with Nixon and his family was just beautiful, I could not wish anything better. They live in a peaceful village, many awesome kids around.. I am so grateful for the time I spent with them. Wish I could stay longer... Nixon shared with me many useful, interesting and important information about Luo tribe, their culture and how it has been changing... about Kenya and Kenyans too. I loved listening to him and wrote many notes. Thank you so much and wish all the best :) ..especially with the tailoring project! Big hug to the whole family

My experience at the Hostel was my first workaway, and I think it was the perfect place to start. Not gonna lie, the place can seem like a lot at first, big dorm, repetitive shift some days, and it takes some time to really dive in. Communication can be hard at first but when you get the place, when you understand the people and how it works it's just a pure blast. Just the hostel in itself is an amazing place, and one that gather amazing people. The perfect placement of Sofia brings travellers who are crossing from Europe to Asia/Asia to Europe, people who are working in the area, weekend tourist, people from all around the world travelling Europe. And the hostel brings the perfect atmosphere to just share stories, laughs and moments with these people. I had the chance to do a bit of everything, starting from cleaning the toilets and showers to helping at the reception, to taking the lead on the pub crawls. This helped to make everyweek different from the last. It's dumb to say but I learned a lot about myself and what I want to bring to the world thanks to this experience and the people I met there. It really ended up as a new home. So thanks again for everything, I'll definitly be back someday to renew the experience!

Seriana and Fabian stayed with me for two and a half weeks, and they were an absolute pleasure to host. They helped with general maintenance around the house and worked hard to get everything ready for winter. They were reliable, practical, and not afraid to take initiative — truly very handy and capable. They approached every task with a positive attitude and were always willing to help. Their kindness, friendliness, and easygoing nature made the whole experience enjoyable. It was wonderful to share meals, stories, and reindeer experiences with them, and I’m very happy they got to learn more about life up north. I can highly recommend Seriana and Fabian to any future host. You are both welcome back anytime!

We have been really lucky for the fantastic help that Erika gave us during her staying! Very energetic and handiwork girl, she helped both with the olive harvest and the garden maintenance. Determined and motivated to break the record every time we were filling the bins with olives she has been working autonomously and efficiently since the beginning! Definitely a pleasant company and an amazing help! Thank you Erika!!!

I loved staying in this house! Niall and Maya are incredibly friendly, and I spent my days with the cats — Mamo, Winston, and the four adorable kittens. They all loved sitting on my lap, although Mamo, the matriarch, definitely preferred having the lap all to herself! The place is truly a dream: beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by long scenic walks. On rainy days, I enjoyed staying cozy inside and watching the kittens play. This was my very first Workaway experience, and it honestly couldn’t have been better.

This was my very first Workaway experience, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything better. The hostel provides everything you might need, and Sara, the manager, is always available and ready to help. The tasks require some focus, but they’re enjoyable and never really feel like “work.” The compensation is fair for the tasks required, and everything is explained clearly at the beginning through a proper contract. The hostel is near the airport but it's well connected to the city center and the beaches . You’ll meet people coming and going from the hostel every day, and their stories will definitely enrich your experience. Sara is always supportive and makes sure everything is explained clearly from day one. You’ll receive papers with all the information you need, and training is also provided by the Workawayer who was there before you. The hostel is beautiful, welcoming, cozy, and truly a great place to stay. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
