Such an amazing experience!! I got to learn more about sailing, navigation and the sea, interact with indigenous communities and learn about their culture, eat the mooost amazing and freshest food, dive, swim in crystal clear waters, swim with sharks and marvel at the dolphins escorting our boat in the open sea, enjoy paradisiac virgin islands, meet people from all over the place. André is a very kind, generous person and a great host, making sure everybody is having a great time and most of all, he is a great and patient teacher.

We had such a lovely experience on our 5 week Workaway here, and are really sad to say goodbye. The owners Catalina and Leo, Sol who looks after the volunteers, as well as all of the staff were all so kind and welcoming, we felt right at home there, we even extended our stay because we didn’t want to leave! They own two hostels in El Poblado, one in Manila which is the bohemian, more “chilled” district, and the second in Provenza which is in the heart of the party district. Both hostels have a different vibe, Manila being much less party orientated, as well as serving mainly local people in the cafe, and Provenza catering more to backpackers and tourists who are keen to party. While the work was based across both hostels, we stayed in Manila, which we were really happy about as it's relaxed, super green and has lots of nice bars and coffee shops which matched our energy. It wasn't very busy with other backpackers during our time there as it was the quiet season, but we still met some great people, and it provided an excellent base for us to enjoy Medellin. Both hostels are really well taken care of, super clean and comfortable. The breakfast which was included, was tasty and filling, it is a great start to the day! The work that we had to do was very reasonable, Yehser worked on the reception/cafe in Manila for 25 hours a week with a roster, and Tess looked after the Instagram account making posts, stories and reels during our time. We would often go over to the other hostel in Provenza to touch base with the other staff and guests which we enjoyed. Overall we felt that the exchange was very fair and we were super happy with the accommodation, breakfast and workload. We also absolutely loved Porro, the beautiful dog who lives at the hostel and was an absolute pleasure to get to know! We took him for walks every day, and got to spend lots of time with him. No doubt, if you come to the hostel, you will fall in love with him too. Thank you so much to the team here, we are really appreciative of all their kindness, generosity & great company. If you are thinking about volunteering here, go for it! We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a Workaway in Medellín.

I've spent 3 amazing weeks with Natalie and Rose. The property is absolutely beautiful and I've loved having daily contact with the geese, chickens and the other animals. There's lots of places to relax and enjoy the day. Natalie was always trying to give me tasks I liked to do, and giving me a lot of freedom in redoing garden beds and planting things. I was always treated with a lot of kindness and respect. I also really appreciated getting to come along to different beaches in the area, community barbecues, family visits or into town. Lots of different people with interesting conversations! I will certainly miss my morning walks with Jane the dog and baking sessions with Rose. If you don't mind a bit of chaos, this is a wonderful place to stay!

My time at this School was deeply rewarding. Sarann is a kind, thoughtful, and open-minded host who genuinely values the input of volunteers. While I was given a structured lesson plan to work with, there was also plenty of room to adapt and try new approaches. I taught children, teenagers, and even teachers, which kept each day varied and engaging. A bit of flexibility is needed, but that’s part of what makes the experience meaningful ;) The younger kids are lively and curious, the teenagers are sharp, witty, and full of potential; having conversations with them was one of the highlights of my stay. The accommodation is simple but sufficient. Beyond teaching, I shared daily meals, laughter, and long conversations with Sarann and the team. I even had the chance to attend a Khmer "housewarming party", which, between the sheer number of people, the food portions, and the endless dancing, almost had naive me wondering if I’d stumbled into an Indian wedding. In the end, I learned just as much as I taught (except how not to mispronounce Khmer, still working on that). If you’re looking for a place that will allow you to simultaneously give and receive, this is the one. Guillerme stayed at our farm for two weeks, and we truly wish he could have stayed longer! It was a real pleasure to host him. Guillerme has a genuinely kind heart and was always ready to lend a hand, often offering help before we even asked. He is very methodical, reliable, and takes pride in doing a good job. He helped us with installing our irrigation pipes, which was a big help. Beyond the work, we shared many lovely moments during our free time. He's easygoing, respectful, and great company. We highly recommend hosting Guilherme - your project will be lucky to have him!

Emilia & Esteban son unos voluntarios increibles !!. Desde el dia de su llegada la pasamos genial gracias a su chispa y buena onda. Nos ayudaron mucho en nuestra plantacion de cacao y pudieron aprender del proceso completo para obtener chocolate casero. Tambien Emilia es una muy buena cocinera y junto a Esteban nos prepararon platillos muy deliciosos que comen en Argentina. Respetaron totalmente las normas de la casa y nos llenaron de alegría durante su estancia. Los recomendamos a ojos cerrados para cualquier proyecto. Mucha suerte en su viaje y esperemos verlos de nuevo pronto!! Gracias Emilia & Esteban !!!

I can't say enough great things about Honoka! She was everything and more that l was looking for in help. Her main responsibility was to tutor my older son in math and my younger son in Japanese. Honoka created a positive learning environment by making my boys feel comfortable in their learning. She is very fluent in English and was able to explain difficult math concepts quite clearly. Honoka was also very helpful in the garden. She was very diligent following her schedule and did gardening tasks or housework in the morning and tutoring in the evening. I liked how Honoka was sociable and enjoyed spending time having fun with my family. She also accompanied me on bike rides and we shared many good times in the kitchen cooking together. I hope you can visit us again in Canada You are truly welcome anytime!

Annabelle is like a super happy sun, always shinning. I miss words to express my gratitude for having met her in my life. She is such a good company and lovely to be around. I was very sad when she left. My house is always open for you Annabelle, thank you for all the light you brought into my house. Madame Chat says hello ;-) She misses sleeping in your bag ;-)

Jennifer and Chi Li graciously accepted me same day after a bit changing dates and the number of people coming. In the end, I went alone and was picked up about 3 hours after arranging things from the station. The bedrooms and bathroom shared by workawayers is clean and comfy. When the 2 double rooms are full, the extra room can be a bit chilly at night in the winter but they'll provide plenty of blankets etc. We cooked food every evening and I had the offer of more food than I've had for a while. When I stayed it was largely gardening, then feeding the horses in the afternoon. As long as you yourself are flexible; you could get to do a whole range of things with different tools. Everyone was accommodating and relaxed, despite their busy lives. As mentioned, I'd say it's likely I'll be back again when I'm in the mines. Maybe I'll meet another workawayer for more silly matching piercings. Thank you so much for having me and especially on such a short notice. - Laurence :)

The whole crew is creative, talkative, courteous and above all ambitious. The boat project is taking shape every day and there are small concerts and jam sessions from time to time. In the centre of Berlin, you still feel like you're in a world of your own! I am really thankful for this accomondation and Chance to have met these inventive people!

Staying at Quinta was my first workawayer's experience and, indeed, a great one! I stayed in the farm for two weeks. Yoav accomodated me in the small house which was like the one from the fairy tales - so cosy, offering beautiful shadows and view of a small river murmuring its secrets day and night. Yoav is a man with the heart of the gold - very sincere, wise, with a vision that inspires. I loved our chats about the plants, the birds and how he envisons the place in the future. Yoav is a wonderful cook and enjoys doing that so I had a pleasure to enjoy delicious food too. I enjoyed the jobs - some gardening, painting in the house, watering the plants. Especially grateful I am to Yoav for taking me to the ancient castle with incredible views to the vastness of the area and trips to the lake and river for a swim. Overall, really wonderful experience! Thank you!

Paloma and Santiago came for 2 weeks from Guggisberg to Oberhofen. The sunny disposition of Argentina immediately greeted us. They work very conscientiously and precisely. My garden looks now beautiful, and all the pots are planted. For my birthday, they surprised me by baking two wonderful cakes and they were a great help at the party. Santiago played beautiful songs on his guitar, and they sang songs for us — simply lovely. A birthday, I never forget. They were also a wonderful support in the kitchen, painting and with cleaning. Unfortunately, they have to move on because of their visa. We would have liked them to stay with us longer, but we wish them that their wishes and dreams come true. I can only recommend these two young people.Our house is open for you. All the best, Regula

Mike was with us for a couple of weeks and he helped us with the garden and then looked after the house, the hens, the garden and cats while we went away for a few days. Mike was a great person to have around. He did really good work in the garden and was happy to just get on with things and enjoy being in the garden. When we went away we had complete trust that all was in good hands. He was not a very experienced gardener but was a careful and thorough worker. We would highly recommend Mike.

I had a wonderful time with Frédérique and Ronald! They are kind, generous, fun and interesting people who runs a beautiful farm. We ate amazing healthy local food, some from their wonderful permaculture garden (I eat vegan and always had great options) , took care of the horses and other animals and spent good times together. I really appreciate this experiance, thank you for being part of my journey.

Staying with Linda and Lars was immersing myself into Swedish country life. Tasks included caring for the animals, working in the garden, doing maintenance work on fences and painting the house. I was given a lot of responsibility and often worked independently during the day. I enjoyed the fine Swedish countryside, swims in the lake and the contact with the animals. Lars and Linda were very helpful and friendly, patient with my attempts to speak Swedish and gave me lifts to the nearest bus stop or train station when needed. I really liked being at their place. Thanks for this great experience!

Melinda was a fantastic Workaway. She was a great sport in that the majority of work to be done during her stay was weeding. She was thorough, doing a great job each day. I had to leave for work many days during her stay but I would always return to everything be completed! Melinda is very easy to get along with and we had some great chats while she was here. Would love to have her back anytime!!

this farm hidden away in the netherlands was a remarkable time, it's an incredibly beautiful place to spend your time. i had a lot of fun while i stayed and enjoyed meeting a frits, henk, and cathy and so many others. everyone was very kind and helpful in teaching me different things, where to visit, and stuff to do which made traveling around very diverse. spend my time helping renovate an apartment, tending to animals, taking frits for walks, chopping wood, and a some of roofing. all in all a great way to embark on my travels.

Thank you so much to Ivan, Paula, and their dog Asia for a wonderful month. Ivan has a deep understanding of organic farming and an impressive wealth of knowledge. He generously shared so much with me during the work, and his instructions were always clear and logical. His dedication to soil building was especially memorable. Working on his beautiful and expansive land was a truly valuable experience. Paula’s cooking was absolutely exceptional — every meal felt like dining at a fine restaurant. It was such a joy to enjoy her delicious dishes every day. I’m very grateful to both of them for their kindness and hospitality. It’s a place I would love to visit again someday. I hope they will have another great harvest of tomatoes and olives this year!

If you want some relaxed guys who are willing to work, and are determined to find a solution when all hope appears to be gone (Like putting up a wardrobe which appears to be to heigh to fit a room). These guys got your back. We so much enjoyed Paul and Ben. We loved their laughs, and their sunny mood, when we on our mountain were facing a week of rain. Besides the good company and openhearted conversations. We also managed to get things done. We admired your perspective on life. And we're pretty sure you'll manage to continue having a very exiting beautifull life. I wonder where it takes you. Keep us posted. If you ever pass by in the valley, just drop by... We are verey greatfull for you guys to pass by as our first WorkAwayers and open the doors for others. All the best.
