Hey there!
My name is Frederike and I am 26 years old. Currently, I live in Rostock and just finished my master’s degree in secondary education for Biology, German, and English. I love to travel, to discover new places and to learn new things. Through an exchange year to the US after 10th grade, a weltwärts – volunteer year to Tanzania after I finished high school, and many other travels, I learned about the importance of a fair cultural exchange. In my opinion, it is, especially in today’s time, extremely important to reduce prejudices on both sides, because we already have so many political conflicts all over the world. I am looking forward to meeting all the amazing people out there, exchanging ideas and getting to know new ways of thinking!
Besides traveling, I am very passionate about environmental sustainability and working with children and animals. In my free time, I love to team children- and youth camps in the outdoors and to go on hiking or kayak trips. Besides that, I love cooking, baking, swimming in the nearby Baltic sea, reading, creating new things, jogging, horseback riding, laughing and much more. I think workaway is the perfect way to find new friendships and project all over the world and am happy to be a part of this community!
I am a flexible, open-minded and uncomplicated person, so I will have no problem accustoming myself to an unfamiliar way of life.

In my free time, I volunteer as a teamer for children and youth camps (the camps are organized by a nature protection association, the NAJU) and as a teamer for a political educational institution to educate in schools about racism and discrimination. Thereby, I have some experience in working with children in different contexts and environments.
Furthermore, we always had animals at home and my uncle owns a horse farm. Therefore, I am familiar with working with animals and I really love spending time with them. I do have some experience in farming, I do not mind getting dirty and working with my hands. I am a quick learner and I am looking forward for new skills and experiences ;)
Besides that, I love cooking and baking, painting and being creative. I am easy to motivate and do almost everything with joy and a smile. :)
