Descripción
Hello! My name is Gustavo, I’m 29 years old, Brazilian and also an Italian citizen.
I think the easiest way to describe myself is that I am someone very capable of taking care of things and people. I grew up becoming useful very early in life. My parents worked constantly, so responsibility was never something abstract to me. I helped raise my younger siblings, took care of the house, learned how to deal with problems calmly and spent many years helping care for my grandmother during her illness. Because of this, I became independent very young and also very attentive to others. I am also gay, and for that reason I left home very early, at 17, not because I had to but because I wanted to live life as I felt I should.
At the same time, my life has never been small. I come from the countryside of Brazil, but I ended up studying Sociology at one of the best universities in Latin America, living in Beijing, travelling alone, learning languages, working with people from different countries and trying to understand how the world works beyond where I was born. I have always been curious about cultures, ways of life, languages, food, family dynamics, education and human behaviour in general.
Italy has always existed in the background of my life. Three of my grandparents came from Veneto families and even in Brazil the culture was always present inside my home through food, habits, expressions, values and the way family relationships worked. Recently I finally had the opportunity to spend time with my father’s Italian cousins, visit the area where my grandfather grew up and see the house where he lived. It was a very important moment for me and made everything feel much more real and personal. I also spent some time in Italy before and felt very comfortable there quite quickly.
I’ve already done Workaway and au pair experiences in Italy before and I still have a very good relationship with former hosts. For me, these experiences work well because I genuinely enjoy participating in daily life. I like useful routines. Cooking, helping, organising, driving, solving problems, taking care of spaces and talking at dinner after a long day. This kind of life suits me very naturally.
Outside work and responsibilities, I care a lot about beauty and culture in everyday life. I enjoy arts, photography, poetry, music, politics, architecture and long conversations. I love wine, cooking slowly, beautiful houses, old cafés, markets, countryside landscapes and people with strong stories. I sing since childhood and music has always been a very important part of my life.
I am not the kind of person who needs to be entertained all the time. I adapt well, learn quickly and usually become part of the rhythm of the house without much difficulty. I can be very communicative and sociable, but I also respect silence, routines and personal space.
I have experience with childcare and family routines because I practically helped raise my younger siblings. I cook very well and cooking si one of the most important parts of my life, especially Brazilian and Italian food. My mother and grandfather work with baking, so I grew up around kitchens, bread fermentation and cooking for many people.
I am extremely organised with housekeeping and daily tasks. I have been working hard since I was eleven in a farm shop and around farms, so I have a lot of experience with animals, gardening and outdoor work.
I drive manual cars confidently and have years of driving experience, including permission to drive internationally.
I worked with education, communication, marketing and international projects. I speak Portuguese, English and Italian fluently, plus some Spanish and basic Chinese. I have lived in different places and adapt easily to new environments.
More than anything, I think I bring stability. I’m responsible, emotionally mature, practical and respectful. If I commit to helping, I take it seriously.
I’m looking for new economically rewarding experiences with mutual trust, good communication and human warmth. I’m very open to long-term stays and to building real connections with the people around me.
Thank you for reading my profile and feel free to contact me if you think we could be a good match.
