Hi! I'm Rebecca, PhD eager to explore the world by sharing experiences and creating connections. I think that even a brief encounter can leave a big mark, and I'm ready to learn new aspects of life by this means.

I enjoy simple things like dying my hair blue or petting my dogs. Other than that, I like nerdy things (such as animes and board games), working in the lab, art and crafts, music and nature. I also love making friends, singing out loud in concerts and dancing at parties!

When I was a teenager, I began to take care about what is dear to me or things I wanted to make better, like my town, children in need, social issues: the abilities I've learnt there might now be of use. Anyway, most of my skills come from a long lasting experience in theatre and the fact I'm used to travelling and adapt to new places and cultures.

My scientific education and post graduate studies in pharmaceutical chemistry allowed me to be at ease working alone in the lab or in team with my colleagues and do public relations during lectures and conventions.
My experience in theatre gave me access to communication skills, management of dramatisation and activities for children.
During the years I had the chance to help organize events both in the social and scientific field.
I am fairly good in creative and manual tasks.

Long story short: I’ll be back as soon as I can! That should say enough about how much I enjoyed my time there.
I won’t get too philosophical—Raquel and Ludwig already know how deeply grateful I am for them, the project, and the people I was lucky enough to meet.

I had the pleasure of spending a month at this place, usually working in the… read more mornings in the fields, just because during this time of the year this is required. At times it was physically demanding for me, but there was never any pressure to complete tasks within strict deadlines. The work environment is relaxed, and thanks to that, I could finish everything without stress or worry. At the end of each day, I felt so satisfied!
House chores are shared among everyone living there, and I helped whenever needed. The dynamic of the house encourages sharing of space, food, and time. The pantry and fridge are always full and accessible, and all meals are shared, which gave me the perfect excuse to experiment a bit in the kitchen too!

I had a single room (just because there weren’t too many volunteers at the time), but it can become a shared room like the other two. The house is located outside the town, right next to the fields and facing the forest, which I sometimes walked to.

But beyond all the practical details, this place is so much more than just a work/food-bed exchange. It’s a space where you can connect—both with new people and with yourself. The house is filled with laughter, love, and acceptance… and two beautiful children who truly lit up my days ◡̈

In my free time, I spent lots of moments with the people in the house, but also took time alone to wander around or explore the forest. I even got to better my crochet skills eheh.
I got to know not only the people sleeping in the house and the patio (in tents or caravans), but also those just visiting, and this truly enriched my time there.
I was curious about the philosophy behind the project, and after learning more about it, I fell in love with it. That’s why I chose to take part—and why I will again.

I recommend this place to anyone looking to breathe some fresh air—literally and metaphorically. If you’re open to it, there’s the opportunity to touch something deeper within yourself. Either way, it’s a beautiful chance to discover a different reality and meet wonderful people.
