Hey! We’re a couple from the South west of England and after spending some amazing years exploring our own beautiful country and Europe in our self-converted campervan we have decided to go and find out why so many people love Australia and its people.

Hi I’m Jacob! I’m calm, relaxed and a little spontaneous. I grew up surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Somerset, England and have always had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and nature. Some of my favourite things to do are hiking, climbing, cooking and getting stuck into DIY projects (especially campervans). I love learning new skills, languages or anything that could give me a new perspective on life. I can’t wait to find out what Australia and its people have to offer.

Hi, I’m Ambre 🙂 without repeating what Jacob has said I also prefer to spend my time outdoors being active. I am not one for social media but one for being in the moment!

Although I’ve spent years in an office job, I’ve always had a passion for physical, hands-on work. As a kid, I was the only girl in my school’s woodworking class, so when we converted our campervan, it reignited my love for building and creating. I’d love to continue working with my hands whether that’s through gardening, construction, or any other practical tasks.

In the past, I’ve organised volunteer events at work, including helping at animal shelters and supporting local food banks. Moving to a new place can feel daunting, so I am hoping by getting stuck into positive work and being with positive people, Australia will feel like home in no time!

Like I mentioned before, I love hands-on, practical work. I’m organised, hardworking, and always willing to get stuck into physical tasks. I have experience leading and organising volunteer projects, including helping at animal shelters and food banks.

I was lucky enough to take time off to convert our campervan, which meant doing the electrical, plumbing, and construction myself. I’m not one for cutting corners, I really put my heart into whatever I do.

Outside of that, I have a degree in Business & Management (which is where I met Jacob) and have worked in health & safety, project management, and event management.

Jacob
Similar to Ambre I have always been attracted to work that is hands-on in nature. I also have a business degree (from the same university) and I’ve gained significant experience in a variety of roles in the construction industry, whether that's hand on labour with floor fitting and floor sanding to office based customer relationship roles in project management. I’m quick to learn new tasks, always keen to learn new skills and I try to be helpful wherever possible!
