I stayed 2,5 weeks with Hannah, Erik and their 2 lovely kids. It was a beautiful time together and I felt like a part of the family. I could learn a lot about permaculture, natural building and the life in the far north.Highlights was also the trips to beaches and gatherings. I spend a lot of time with the kids and it was so much fun! I can definitely recommend to stay with this beautiful people!

We stayed with Anthony and Tanya for three and a half weeks and genuinely enjoyed every single moment. We were quite sad when our journey had to move on and we had to leave this place behind, even after extending our stay a bit. They are truly lovely people, warm, welcoming, patient and very reasonable. At the beginning of our stay, a clear list was provided of tasks that needed to be done, or rather could be done, always taking the wild Tasmanian weather into account, so it was never uncomfortable for us. The work itself was varied. During our stay, we helped with collecting fallen leaves and branches to improve fire safety, did lots of weeding, prepared the polytunnels for new plantings (even more weeding!), collected and stored sheep feed and sawdust, did bush cutting, cut bamboo and so on. When the weather was bad, we did some indoor work such as light housekeeping. We were trusted to work independently and at our own pace, with plenty of free time alongside the work. Anthony and Tanya encouraged us to explore Tasmania and shared many great travel tips. One morning we had only just started working when Anthony came to tell us to drop our tools and go visit Cradle Mountain since it was on our list and it appeared to be a particularly great day for the time of year. We ended up having an amazing hike under a clear sky and are very grateful we took that opportunity thanks to him. We loved the balance between being active and having space to rest and explore. We definitely grew some muscles on the farm! At the end of each workday, sometime in the afternoon, Anthony was always there with a cup of coffee made exactly to our preference, accompanied by a sweet treat made by Tanya (sorry for eating all the caramel slices, they were simply too good to resist!). We shared brunch and dinner together every day, had some good laughs, and the food was simply amazing. The property itself is truly a little piece of paradise. We loved staying in the private cabin, surrounded by animals and the wonderful dogs. Even though we could do our own thing whenever we wanted, we also had the chance to meet many locals. Anthony and Tanya’s place feels like a small community hub, with people regularly stopping by for fresh produce, a chat and a cup of coffee, sometimes even several times a day. We were very inspired by the way Tanya and Anthony live and will forever cherish the time we spent here. We will definitely visit again before leaving Tasmania behind! :) Thanks again!!

Johanna was a great help and is a lovely person. She was house sitting and pet sitting for us for about a week. She is great company, easy to live with, has excellent English, was very good at communicating her plans, is very kind and efficient with the animals (and people) and is tidy and organized too. She is a no fuss, mature and responsible kind of person, and we felt very happy to leave her in charge of our property and animals. We would welcome her back any time with open arms. We highly recommend Johanna to workaway hosts.

It was a pleasure to have Stella come and stay with us. She is polite, courteous and friendly. More than happy to help in anyway she could. She took the time to observe and see how best she could help taking initiative. She was respectful of the house rules built a good rapport with the children and helped around them house. She was trustworthy with our car also. Thank you so much Stella! 💖

We took on the project at the resort on the basis that the owners would be leaving the island in our care while they travelled overseas for a month or two. Due to their various personal issues and circumstances, they never left so we were with them for 3 months. Once the last guests (and all the staff) left at the end of the whale swimming season we started the clean up operation, the place was in great need of it. As well as cleaning, Lib painted the inside walls of the falles and did an inventory of the linen and bedding. The standard jobs were not enough to keep us busy so we offered to do more to pass the time. Andy demolished half the kitchen roof which was leaking badly. He did a fantastic job replacing it and also improving the previous bodged jobs so the kitchen had a fully watertight roof with decent overhangs when we left. Mark is not physically or mentally able to do much and Vero was always busy in her office. The work we did was not so much helping them but doing everything ourselves most of the time on our own initiative. We worked passionately whether it was noticed or not. Andy is a competent and qualified boat driver but Mark was reluctant to let us use any of his boats so getting off the island was restricted. We loved kayaking to other islands but the only way to get to Neiafu was in one of their power boats. This is a beautiful island, we enjoyed swimming, snorkelling and walking around it but it's small. We left saddened by their lack of appreciation and interest but were glad to have experienced a tiny bit of Tonga.

I hosted Carmel in my home to help my children, Cristian (12) and Asia (9), improve their English. She spent the Christmas period with us, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve, and she integrated very well into our family from the very beginning. Carmel showed great commitment and responsibility. She immediately understood how important it was for me to support my children in learning English and she always prepared her lessons carefully. Every day she involved the children with different topics and activities, keeping them interested and motivated. Carmel is a great and tireless worker. She always respected schedules and the tasks I assigned to her. She is a calm, polite young woman who consistently respected the rules of our home and behaved in a very respectful and cooperative manner. It was a very positive experience, and I highly recommend her as a Workawayer, especially for families looking for a reliable and dedicated person to help children learn English.

The best way to start a Brasillian journey. Christiano and Marie are so kind, respectful and balanced. They made me feel super welcome, they did everything to make me feel comfortable and get involved in Brasillian life. The work was low-pressure but worthwhile, we helped construct, repair and clean. There was plenty of fun, lots of lovely people and just a wholesome experience overall. I would recommend this to anyone. I consider Chris and Marie good friends and people I really hope to meet again in the future. Best of luck to in your endeavours! Até logo!

Yamuna and Tyag are a really lovely couple who welcome you in to heart and home. They were very generous in their sharing of spiritual-cultural and culinary knowledge, as well as leading some of the best yoga classes I have ever been to. They are working hard and expect the same from you. The work was in the garden along with responsibility for preparing and clearing the shared meals. They also prepared some of the meals and their food was incredible with organic ingredients. My only drawback is within this routine of cooking and gardening I didn't find time to go off and explore, however I think that could also be a selling point for some people and I did get into the rhythm of life with this pair. If you don't have a car, I would recommend this experience to someone seeking a bit of retreat. It was really exciting to be involved in work that has meaning - what they are building with the community yoga space and the wonderful music.

What can I say, Lauren and Lou are two of the most generous, thoughtful people I have had the pleasure of meeting and staying/working with. I only stayed for 4 days but look forward to getting back one day. This was my first WorkAway experience and I couldn’t have asked for a better one.

We had a wonderful time staying with Santiago and Pipi. They're wonderful people, who have an amazing vision for the house they're building. We helped them with landscaping and painting tasks and they always made sure we were taking breaks, were well and that we were enjoying our stay. They gave us some recommendations for some stunning local areas and were even generous enough to give us some tango lessons. We were genuinely sad to leave and highly recommend the experience.

I'll be brief and write in Spanish, my native language, but any workawayer can contact me in Spanish or English for more details. And if anyone from the Workaway team wants to contact me, they're welcome to do so as well.

I spent a truly special month at Rosa and Jens' house. I arrived there on the recommendation of another host, and the experience far exceeded all the good things I had been told. From the very first moment, I felt very welcome and at home in their house. Their place is spectacular. They have created a small oasis full of life and tranquility, with beautiful views of Santa Cruz, which is also close to the city and well connected to other parts of the island. In addition, there are Yoga classes very close to their finca, which was also an important plus for me. Rosa and Jens have been excellent hosts. They are honest and very caring people, always making sure that my stay was pleasant and comfortable and that I had everything I needed. We had very good and varied conversations, and they were always very patient in answering all my questions about their project and the interesting world and process of speciality coffee's cultivation. It's fabulous to see people so passionate about what they do and so involved in the details, something that you can see into the result of their excellent coffee. I also loved seeing the beautiful and sweet relationship they have with their animals, especially Jens, who is genuinely an animal lover.I appreciated that they trusted me to do house /pet sitting too, while they went away for a few days.I really enjoyed the company of their beautiful animals. I stayed in a lovely apartment with private bathroom and direct access to the kitchen and dining room, so I had complete privacy and comfort there. It was a pleasure to share meals every day, and even some dinners with their friends, as they are both excellent cooks. Jens makes fabulous pasta and Asian dishes, and Rosa's cooking reminded me a lot of the delicious home cooking I grew up with, and her desserts are fabulous! The work was varied and well explained, and they were always very grateful for all the tasks I did. Some farm maintenance, painting, plant care, fruit picking, and coffee harvesting, among other things. I was lucky to learn about the interesting process of coffee harvesting by being part of it and get involved in some of its different stages. All afternoons and weekends were free to enjoy the island, relax, or spend some time with them. If you are looking for a place where you can learn about the history and customs of the island, get to know the interesting world of speciality coffee firsthand, live with people who really care about you, and share your stay with adorable animals, don't hesitate to visit this place. Thank you very much, Rosa and Jens, for welcoming me into your home as one of the family, for your trust and your affection. I hope to see you again so we can enjoy together one of the best coffees in the world! Sending you a big hug to both of you and lots of cuddles to the furry ones: Brandi, Lili, Peige, Maxi and Mari Pili!!
