Malina and Yade were really incredible. They were very well prepared, even thought it was their first time to Asia. We are going to look for this trait in our future Workawayers. We have done many trips, but yet as a first-timer in Japan, Malina and Yade can still surprise us with their local knowledge to help us made this trip such a great success. As I also did some business meetings in Japan, I brought Malina to help me with the meetings, as well as a chance for Malina to see some real-world business interactions. Hopefully Malina got some useful insights. In the future, we will also give opportunities for students to do business internship. We think those opportunities can help students expand their business networks. My business partners definitely are all very impressed with Malina. Thank you Malina for joining us.

We spent 3 weeks in May due to a retreat. As its name suggests, it was a place of peace and work. We worked in nature, met locals and had a good time with volunteers. The manager, MD was very nice, always present and listening despite his long working days he always came to take the time to go to the resort and discuss everything. We will come back with pleasure ☺️

This was a great time here. Misael is a great guy, relaxed, easy to get along with. I mostly helped him and his dad with some cunstruction work. Nothing complicated, anyone could do it. Great way to learn. Every now and then we did some field work: cleaning with machetes, harvesting corn, etc. If you know Spanish and English you could probably helped with translation on some tours. That for me was by far the best part. Like this you get to know the area, flora, and fauna really well. You also get to meet more people, the guides, the travelers, and potentially some community folks. The house was nice, maybe 20m or so by bus from Tena, super easy. There are two smaller towns nearby. Bus runs right by the house. Unsurprisingly, the area around is super beautiful, especially the river, which you can walk to from the house.

Inda came and stayed for just over 2 weeks ,he is a quiet unasuming guy socialising whilst keeping himself to himself ,gets on well with other workaways. He was given the talk of making a chicken house out of pallets ,a bit of a chore but he just got on with it without any complaints the result was a rustic chicke house which is exactly what it was meant to be so well done .Saddly he has now left us ,we wish him well with his new venture and he is welcome back anytime .

This is my first workaway experience. I couldn't be more grateful to this Nepalese family. The lady of the household, we call her big sister, is such a patient, compassionate, resilient, kind, and powerful woman. I feel safe, and empowered by her side. Her husband, her children, their spouses, her grandchild, are beautiful people, that I see as my family. The family dogs are adorable. The family cows, chicken, goats, frogs are also wonderful on their own. The neighbors are sweet and lovely. The the view of the place is stunning! I could sit for a long time, just looking at the mountains, the valleys, and feeling content. I learned a lot of how farming works in Nepal. It is hard work. And I met some very interesting, very friendly and supportive workawayers there. In fact, in this place, I never felt lonely.

Edwin had planned to stay two weeks with us. He stayed one. Strong and willing - he helped us with a lot of tasks, like digging, carrying wood, cleaning etc. He communicated his needs clearly and assisted with everything needed. He even prepared a tasty curry for us. Thank you for the help!

We had a wonderful experience hosting Katie and Sam, who joined us from Australia. From the very beginning, they were warm, friendly, and eager to contribute in every possible way. They played an important role in our painting project, showing great dedication and attention to detail. Their efforts truly helped in improving the learning environment for the children. Alongside this, they were always willing to lend a hand with household tasks, making daily routines smoother and more manageable for everyone. One of the most valuable contributions they made was working with the children. They actively helped in teaching English, engaging the kids with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm. Their interactive approach made learning fun and enjoyable, and the children quickly built a strong bond with both of them. Beyond work, Katie and Sam brought a lot of positive energy to our space. They spent quality time with the children, playing various card games and participating in activities that created joyful and memorable moments for everyone involved. Their presence was not just helpful but truly inspiring. They showed genuine care, adaptability, and a strong sense of responsibility throughout their stay. We are incredibly grateful for their support and would be more than happy to host them again in the future. We wish them all the very best for their journey ahead and hope they continue to spread kindness and positivity wherever they go.

I had a really great time with Ghassab, the sheep and his family in the mountains surrounding Petra. Getting there was very smooth! Ghassab is extremely communicative and he arranged the pick up from the nearby station to his lovely pink house. I felt immediately so welcomed by the kindness of everyone I met - be it Ghassab himself, a great person and gifted storyteller (amazing for our times around the fire at camp!), his sister Waheeda, who radiates such sweet kindness and makes the most delicious food, their very respected and formidable mother Noora, the other volunteers I was with, or by the other shepherds. They even helped me greatly with my arabic! Ghassab and the other shepherds invited us into their daily lives and taught us about the sheep with such admirable patience and skill. After a week surrounded by mountains and sand dunes, under rain or shine caring for the animals, I felt incredibly connected to the earth and grateful to have had this experience. There’s a magic in this place. My stay has given me memories I’ll hold onto forever. Thank you ♥️

The bestEST host on Workaway. I felt grateful every single day staying in Pablo's home, surrounded by beautiful mountains. Pablo is funny, open minded, and fun to be around. I received SOOO much inspiration from him. I feel very lucky to have experienced the beauty of rural Spain through this stay. These memories will always have a special place in my heart:)

Me and my partner Jubi spent almost 2 weeks in Michiko, Jensen and Sarasa's home. There is so much potential to learn very useful life skills in this place, from eco-friendly farming, through good food preparation and conservation to crafts and alternative approaches to education and learning process. I don't want to spoil it for future Workawayers, so I just say that I definitely want to come back here and contribute to the heartwarming project of very knowledgeable, kind, hospitable and healthy family. Thank you so much and take a good care of yourself and each other. See you! Eli and Jubi

I can only use superlatives as feedback for Andrew and Kaleigh. This was their first Workaway experience, and they were fantastic as helpers and home guests. Despite many cold and windy days, we made great progress on the boats, including difficult deck scraping, rearranging of boats and trailers, and thoroughly cleaning a boat and trailer that had been in storage for several years. Plus they did a deep clean of my home, did great meal cleanup, and cooked a very tasty stir-fry meal last night. Perhaps above all else, they were easy and fun to be with. I completely enjoyed their stay with me. I highly recommend this dynamic duo.

Emily came to us from very far away, NZ so we started communicating well in advance before her travel. She is a young person on a travel adventure, and we really hope she will find her place at university in France in the next year or so. Emily started out a shy and quiet person, but quickly gained confidence. She and Noah, the other young person we had here, became good chess partners (well, he taught her, and then she started beating him), cooks and horror movie enthusiasts.... We know how sometimes a new environment can be challenging, especially if you are like 18 years old, so it was great to see her get more comfortable. Emily enjoyed hiking in the mountains, doing all agricultural work, and helping us with all the general farm maintenance tasks. She followed instructions and was a motivated team member in our group. We wish Emily lots of luck with her studies, many wonderful trips around Europe, and continued progress with her chess game! Come back and visit us!

The hostel in Valle de Anton is just an amazing place with amazing people! I spend one week there as a volunteer organizing activities such as morning yoga, Panamanian dinners, hikes, etc. The hostel staff is overly friendly and sympathetic and will make you feel part of the hostel right away. The workload is super chill with 4h/day 5 days a week. You'll have lots of time to explore el Valle on your own terms. It's a perfect place for digital nomads, as there is peace, space and great WiFi. Thanks Allan, Jakob, the girls & my colleague Danna for the short but amazing time!

Juliane and Colin, two young French people, came over during the very very early spring season. We were at some point 9 helpers plus Gabriel and Helen around the dinner table, so we had lots of people (and kitties), lots of laughs and many many wonderful moments to cherish. Juliane and Colin both are totally awesome people, ready to help, full of curiosity and initiative. Juliane got to drive the tractor (she was fierce and funny at the same time) and Colin took out all his aggression on the weeds, and came back relaxed and smiling. These two are wonderful cooks, very dedicated to anything you throw at them in terms of tasks, and very motivated to learn new stuff, ask questions and make the world a better place. Ah yes, they are also motivated to cook well, taste jams, and caress the kittens.... We have so many memories from their stay with us! We got to see Juliane (with Colin's help) do puzzle marathons, try to figure out how to navigate the world with her glass lenses switched (long story), read philosophy books and play the guitar, We had Colin teach Noah (with moral and professional support from Pete) how to improve his cooking, give expert, nuanced feedback about jams, and invent amazing slogans for anything possible (on kiffe a Vif!).... They both enjoyed taking walks in nature, going to the villages around us and so much more... We hope they got some good memories and new skills to take with them, and most importantly, new friends. Next time they come over, they will see their little plants big and strong, and they will be happy to see all cats jumping in the fields.... THANK YOU for all the help!

We had a significant backlog of farm tasks, but Ana and Brandon arrived exactly when we needed them most. They were incredibly helpful with trimming the date palms, managing suckers, and deadheading flowers. Between the date maintenance and the rock pool cleaning, we accomplished far more than I anticipated. Both were exceptionally focused and dedicated, and I highly recommend them to any Workaway host.+++++

Gordon was a wonderful host! Very knowledgeable about growing dates and other fruits. It was really interesting to learn about running a small-scale date operation, as well as hear his stories from growing mulberries and other varieties in Ojai, California. He knows the area well and can point you toward some great hiking spots if you’re into that. The work was engaging, and the conversations were just as rewarding. Overall, a great experience.

Noah is one of those amazing young people who is ready to help with anything. A waterproof Dutch man, he is unphased by water, wind, or mud. Noah is extremely reliable, disciplined and responsible. He follows house rules and is always there to lend a helping hand. We were so happy to have him with us, and so were all the cats!!!! He was excited to learn a lot of new stuff about agriculture, plants, various tools and also.... well.... cooking! We found out that the young gentleman is a keen kitchen enthusiast, so we got plenty of inspired recipes, from tiramisu (miammmmm) to pasta (also miammmm) and anything in between.... Noah is also a keen chess player, and spent many an hour in front of the fire playing against Emily, while caressing various furry kitties..... For some reason, he is also into horror movies. OMG the screams from the computer! We were extremely lucky to get Noah to come and help us during his gap year. We hope he will come here again to see how the plants and the whole farm is developing. Big hugs and so many thanks!!!!
