We volunteered with Gabri and Francesca for about a month and a half in Pisa and had a wonderful time with their family and pets! Our everyday tasks would include getting to the house mid morning and carrying out general day to day household chores and maintenance. This would include tidying, cleaning, laundry, dog walking and gardening. The work is relatively easy and laid back and both Gabri and Francesca are very easy going hosts who give you plenty of free time and recommendations to explore the local area of Tuscany. Their children, Lara and Martino are very polite and sweet and the dog, Duccio is full of energy and affection. We had a great time exploring the local region of Tuscany and volunteering with Gabri and Francesca and wish them and their family all the best for the future! Grazie!

It was an absolute pleasure to have Gordon stay with us! He showed up at just the right time, and we knew from the start that he would be trustworthy and responsible. Gordon also proved to be very adaptable. Due to the weather (it was raining a lot) we had to postpone some of the outdoor work we had planned, but Gordon turned out to be an absolutely brilliant babysitter and our son adores him to this day. Gordon also ended up helping us with deconstruction work (knocking down some brick walls and then moving the bricks elsewhere). He's an independent worker, and you can trust him to do a very thorough, high-quality job and to always show up on time for work. We enjoyed many great conversations with Gordon, and he also did a photoshoot of our son (at my request), and took some stunning photos that I know we'll treasure forever. Thank you, Gordon! You're always welcome back in Oslen!

I am so grateful for this one week I stayed at Simone's place! I will never forget her magical home in nature, colours of the autumn, cutting wood, making fire, jumping on the trampoline with her daughter Muni. Simone is a person who makes you feel comfortable from the first moment you meet her. We shared open, fun and interesting conversations. She also helped me a lot with the beginning of my research of Estonian saunas with sharing her experience and also arranging sauna at her friend's place. She is very inspiring person! Also knowledgeable, she taught me how to use some tools, how to prepare firewood and do some building works in the sauna-to be. I wished I could have stayed even longer, but the cold days were approaching...Thank you again for your immense friendliness and sharing your authentic lifestyle with me!

this place was my second Workaway! and I preferred it a thousand times over! the place is warm and the family is very welcoming, David always makes sure you feel good! the cultural exchange is very present! and sharing and kindness too ^^ it's a farm in a quiet place far from the city but close to real locals not yet affected by tourism! the work was enjoyable! I sincerely hope to be able to return there one day ✨

I had an amazing first Workaway experience with Steffi and Brad and couldn't have asked for a better start. The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable with my own room and bathroom close to the hostel and surf school. I felt very welcome from the beginning and was given a lot of freedom and trust, both in my work schedule and creativity. I supported with social media and taught yoga at the surf school, made friends for life and created unforgettable memories (including learning how to wave surf and Kitesurf). Steffi and Brad were always supportive and helpful, making it easy to adapt to island life. I would definitely recommend this Workaway host. Thank you so much!!

Lilly and George stayed at our farm for a couple of weeks i am more than happy to drop this feedback because of the respect and love they showed to the place . They left the place in immaculate condition and sort of set a new hygiene protocols for the kitchen and garden. The farm always remembers their efforts. Thanks

Mustafa stayed with us for two weeks. He is very warm-hearted, kind, and extremely helpful. He actively supported us in the household and completed several painting jobs around the house with great commitment. We worked way more than the standard Workaway arrangement. He was always open and connected very well with my children, which we really appreciated. Mustafa is also very dedicated to learning German, which is truly commendable. However, communication was sometimes challenging, both in English and in German. Despite this, we were able to clearly communicate the most important things related to his tasks, and this worked well overall. For us, the main focus of Workaway is intercultural exchange and mutual learning, which naturally works best when communication flows easily. During our time together, it became clear that Mustafa’s focus was more strongly oriented toward finding long-term job opportunities in the country through this experience. While this is understandable, it did shape the dynamic of our exchange. Thank you, Mustafa, for your support and your positive presence in our home.

Every human interaction leaves a mark, and this is important for us, belonging as we do to an ancient Mediterranean culture. Victoria was a kind, very communicative woman and an interesting visitor. She told us about her life, and we told her about ours, and that's what gives a relationship, a human interaction, great communicative value, a truly enriching experience. Everyone has their own life plan, and lives are like rivers... flowing downstream... toward the sea. In that sense, Victoria may return another time in a less formal setting... the doors of our project will remain open for you... a hug. Nel 2023 io e il mio compagno siamo stati da Ghila per circa un mese ed è stata un’esperienza davvero speciale. Luca ha dato una mano con il giardino e alcuni piccoli lavori di manutenzione, mentre io ho supportato Ghila con i social e l’ho affiancata durante un ritiro. Oltre alla collaborazione, ciò che ha reso questo tempo così prezioso è stata la condivisione umana: abbiamo spesso cenato insieme, condiviso conversazioni profonde, momenti semplici e tante riflessioni sulla vita. Ghila e la sua famiglia sono persone davvero meravigliose, accoglienti, autentiche e dal cuore grande. Il luogo è magico, immerso nella natura, circondato da animali, silenzio e bellezza: uno spazio che nutre l’anima e invita a rallentare. È stato davvero bello stare lì, un’esperienza che porto con me con gratitudine e che consiglio a chi cerca un luogo autentico, vivo e pieno di cuore 🌙🙏

Ange and Sharpie provided the best experience on Aotea/Great Barrier that I could have hoped for. They have a beautiful house on a stunning site, and are deeply tied to the island and its culture. I felt welcome and cared for from the start, and I really appreciated their kindness and generosity. They're also very much wired into a network of friends and family, and because of that I came in contact with a diverse group of people who I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to meet. Communication about work expectations was clear, and I spent time in Ange's extensive gardens and helped Sharpie with renovating a cabin on their land. All the meals were excellent - from Sharpie's breakfasts to Ange's lunch feasts. The property is within a short walking distance of the cafe, grocery store, pub, and beaches, and they have an ebike available, which makes most of the rest of the island easily accessible. I'm really grateful that I had the opportunity to spend the time on the island and to live and work at their place.

I tried several times to write this because the three weeks I spent here really were priceless. The kids are amazing. They’re funny, disciplined, and genuinely interested in learning. I never heard them complain, and spending time with them was always a pleasure. From beach clean-ups to classes and training, they constantly made me feel welcome and appreciated. Alvin and Alice are truly special people. What they’ve built here says everything about how much they care for the kids. The way they talk to them and look after them is something you feel immediately. I had so much fun with both of them, and they took great care of me. Being here for Christmas and New Year’s, I honestly felt at home. This place is special because of them. I’ll definitely try to come back — hopefully with better kickboxing skills next time ❤️

I absolutely loved working at the Theatre last summer! I worked at the bar for 3 weeks in June (I was only meant to stay for 2 weeks but loved it so much I cancelled my flight and stayed another week!) I also got to support a week of workshops for local children on the island. I learnt some Greek and was immersed in the culture and the performances at the theatre were fantastic! I went back in September to see the end of the summer season and am excited to work there again this summer. I met so many amazing people that I have kept in touch with and Ben and Phaedra were lovely hosts and I had a great time staying with them and seeing the wonderful impact they are having on the island.

Sam was a great volunteer! He joined us for 3 weeks in September/October and quickly settled into our busy, international household. Communication was always clear and positive, he approached the work with enthusiasm and made meaningful contributions. With so many people living together, his respectful and cheerful attitude helped keep everything running smoothly. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting him and would be happy to have him back.

I volunteered for over a month, and it was one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences I’ve ever had. Vic is a very kind and deeply human host. When I needed to take care of an injured toe, she was understanding, supportive, and generous. She is also very clear and organized with instructions, which makes volunteering easy, respectful, and harmonious. Volunteers have access to sound healing and meditation sessions, and there is always music here. It is truly a place of healing and self-care. There are always events and music happening, creating a beautiful and uplifting atmosphere. In the mornings, Vic meditates for two to three hours, which naturally invites us to slow down and appreciate the depth and seriousness of her spiritual work. I also had plenty of free time to explore Pipa and its beautiful beaches, which made the experience feel very balanced. We start work at 6 a.m. caring for the beautiful garden, which is everyone’s pride 🍃 I couldn’t be happier with my time here. For me, it was a place of healing, connection, and deep spiritual growth. Vic, darling, you will always be in my heart and soul. Your dedication to spiritual practice is a true inspiration. Thank you for your guidance—I will miss you all dearly. Much, much love. It was great to have Twan and Romy stay with us. An interesting and fun couple who loved our Tommy dog. Twan is strong and hardworking and helped pruning, clearing the land , burning cuttings as just a little carpentry & concrete work although I think he is capable of more. We hope to see them again would welcome them back ...

We took care of the Finca and the animals for a week! Mel and her family were absolutely adorable, she gave us a really warm welcome and safe feeling with everything! The communication was great, the finca is a special off grid place with everything you need and a huge amount of cozyness what was enriched by the lovely animals. It was a pleasure going on walks with Panda the dog or playing with the cats! Thank you for everything!

Staying with Laci was a great decision; I spent three months at his house. He and his family welcomed me very warmly. Laci has a lot of patience to explain things, he also cooks very well and adores his animals. I ate so much during my stay there that I gained weight. I helped him collect firewood for the winter and also in the kitchen. He has a large forest for going for walks or jogging. His house is cozy and only 40 minutes by train from the center of Budapest; trains run every 30 minutes and the station is within walking distance from the house. In addition, Laci always offers to take you to and pick you up from the station by car. It’s not only about helping him with his project, but also spending time with his family—we went to the stadium and to Budapest for events and activities. Being there feels like being at home. I 100% recommend going, and of course I would return. Thank you, Laci!

Ludo was our first work away guest and we feel so lucky to of had such an amazing experience. Ludo fit into our family instantly and effortlessly. Ludo was a fast learner and had great work ethic and initiative - she didn’t need to be asked to do things she would just observe, notice and do. We were so sad to see her go! Ludo, you are always welcome back here and we hope to see you again in the future!

Axel was always happy to help us. He took responsibility for caring for our animals and looked after them diligently. He had a truly positive impact on the home and the farm and worked very hard. We hope to see you again.
