Carolyn was with us for only a week (unfortunately) and she fit in our family very well. Polite, tidy and easy to live with. After completing her daily tasks she was doing activities and go explore around . Her free time was well spent and she made the most of it! She joined us for movie nights , sunset and walks. We all had good chats and nice time together . Such a sweet girl. All the best Carolyn x

Gaetano was an absolute pleasure to have stay with us, he was interesting, fun and we had great conversations. Gaetano helped Geoff with wood collection and splitting, putting bird netting on the pear tree, helping in the house and around the yard and paddocks. Gaetano is the best Italian cook I know, he made from scratch gnocchi and carbonara, it was so, so delicious. I would highly recommend having Gaetano as a Work Awayer, and wish him safe travels and great adventures in Australia. Thank you, your the best. Cheers Mel and Geoff.

Nim fue una voluntaria muy servicial y dispuesta a ayudar en todos los desafías que le poníamos. Nosotros quedamos encantados con ella la verdad queríamos quedarnos con nim para siempre en nuestra familia. Es como estar con alguien que has conocido toda la vida y eso nos hacía sentir que estábamos con una amiga. La recomendamos mucho como voluntaria, ya que siempre tiene buena disposición para ayudar, muy minuciosa y atenta en sus deberes. Tuvimos muchas conversaciones muy buena con ella, es muy buena para hablar al igual que nosotros. Nos ayudó en la conducción cuando hacíamos viajes a escalar y también cuando salíamos a las compras del día. La verdad no ayudó en todo lo que pudo y más. Por eso este no es un adeu es un hasta pronto.

Lila, JayaSri and their daughter Dami are very warm, welcoming, and generous. I spent one week at the farm and had a great time. The rooms were cozy and JayaSri's cooking is absolutely delicious! The work I did was mostly chopping wood with a hydraulic press, cooking, and picking flowers with JayaSri. I particularly enjoyed the flower-picking :) On the weekend we had a karaoke session and went to an ecofest in a nearby town. The property is quite remote, but the area is gorgeous. There's a beautiful, pristine waterfall close by (if you can find it) and some lakes where you might spot a platypus. I wish I could stay for longer, but regardless I'm glad I met such lovely people in Tassie <3 I wish them all the best!

Ida is an absolute gem. She is reliable, hard working and meticulous in her work. We loved having her and we wished she could stay forever. I knew I could trust her with any task. She really cared for the horses and this showed in her work. She also really cares about the other jobs and how well she does them. She gives 100% every time. She was a clean, courtesy house mate in the the staff apartment and makes delicious Sourdough. Any host would be the luckiest to have her. I would recommend her to everyone.

Ben was a wonderful house guest and did some fantastic work around my property. He came socialising with me and made a great impression on my friends and was a great at NZ style bowls. Highly recommend Ben

Estar con Cathy, Víctor y Damián ha sido una experiencia increíble. He ganado una nueva familia en Melipilla🫂 Las tareas son distintas cada día y nunca sabes que va a pasar, es una sorpresa! También proponen actividades para los días libres y si tienes ganas puedes ir a escalar a la roca. Ha sido la manera ideal para conocer la cultura chilena des de dentro. Espero poder volver pronto❤️‍🩹

Orto is a truly magical place, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys peaceful countryside life, gardening, and restoring old houses. I stayed there for three weeks in mid-February and honestly wished I could have stayed longer, but I already had other plans booked. I know I’ll be back. It’s one of those places I felt connected to instantly. Bartolo has a wonderful sense of style, and that really shapes the atmosphere of Orto. When he showed me around and shared the past, present, and future of the farmhouse, his vision brought the whole place to life. Does it match the profile? Honestly, it’s even better than I expected. Every day at Orto felt special. I appreciated everything there: the garden, the beautiful room, the well-equipped kitchen, the cutest animals, the amazing team, and of course Valentin. I worked closely with him, and he always gave clear instructions while making sure everyone felt comfortable with their tasks. He made both work and daily life feel easy and enjoyable. I’m also very grateful that I had the chance to share my cooking with the team, and sometimes with the guests too. I’m not always the best at expressing myself with words, but food is my love language, so that meant a lot to me. Thank you, Bartolo, for creating such a special place. I truly wish you all the best, and I’d be more than happy to come back and help again in the future.

We stayed about a week with Javier and Nana and had an amazing time. Everything was as described in his profile. When we arrived, we stayed one night in his apartment, and the next day he took us to his land (super easy to get to from Valencia by bus), where we stayed in a camper van with everything we needed. We helped out a bit with some tasks around the land and his small garden, and it is honestly a very fair exchange. Javier gives you your own space, but at the same time he really enjoys showing you the local culture. We shared music, paella, and some nice hikes :) We’re really grateful for the experience Javier, thanks so much! We hope to cross paths again somewhere in the future. Ellie was an outstanding volunteer. She supported our English education project by leading speaking activities and teaching several of our students, always showing great enthusiasm and dedication. She is a very respectful, friendly, and warm person, with a positive attitude that easily connects with others. Ellie is also highly committed to the program, consistently willing to help and very flexible in adapting to different needs. Our students truly enjoyed spending time with her and were very happy to learn from her. She made a meaningful impact on both their learning experience and the overall environment of the project. I highly recommend Ellie as a volunteer.

Great experience on the farm with Dionny. The work was clear and manageable - about 2hrs the days we worked mostly weeding corn . There were regular days off as well as the days I went hiking to nearby lagunas and even the 4 day Santa Cruz trail which Alan helped organise.

Anna stayed at my home to take care of my cat, Shadow, and she was a great Workawayer. We only saw each other briefly, but she was kind, friendly, and very respectful of the space. She followed all house rules, kept everything clean, and left the apartment in great condition. She spent a lot of time with Shadow, kept him company, and made sure he was well looked after. I especially appreciated her communication - she regularly sent updates, photos, and videos, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. I would happily recommend Anna to other hosts and would welcome her back anytime.

Tamsin is one of those great volunteers who is easy to have around, works well as part of a team or on her own, follows instructions, asks sensible questions, and is happy to get stuck into any task and do it well. She has a wide range of skills, and she was also very supportive and mindful of another volunteer we had here at the same time. Highly recommended!

I have spent almost 2 months at Manu and Uwe's house and I had a great time there. They are lovely hosts, who made me feel welcome and my help was appreciated. Every day we sit together for breakfast and dinner, occasionally we went out for lunch or dinner. They have a young horse (Dalgo) and a donkey (Kido), which I took care of. I helped with feeding, mucking out, grooming, lunging and building new fences. Besides that, I helped with various work around the house and yard that was required, such as painting or cleaning. I enjoyed my stay at their place and can recommend them as great hosts. Take care and THANK YOU!

¡Experiencia fantástica! Anke es super simpática y acogedora. Estuve varios meses en su cortijo y disfruté mucho del trabajo en el campo, especialmente cuidando de sus dos adorables perros. Un auténtico paraíso con piscina, huerto recién creado y vistas impresionantes a las montañas más altas de España. ¡Contando los días para volver! 🌞 ------ An amazing experience! Anke is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I stayed for several months at her cortijo and really enjoyed the work, especially taking care of her two adorable dogs. It’s a true paradise with swimming pool, a brand-new orchard, and breathtaking views of Spain’s highest mountains. Counting the days until I can return! 🌞

I stayed with Michaël, Charlie and Lowie for four weeks and it truly felt like home. From the start, there was such a welcome feeling and I integrated in their family very fast. I really appreciated the trust they gave me, with the tasks of work, leaving me alone at the house for a few hours or let me to take care of Lowie. I also could take part in every family-action if I wanted to. They were really caring about my needs and feelings. The camper is very cosy and a nice place to stay. It is a good mix of having privacy but also living together in the house. I learned many new things, like baking, building, and photography. In the freetime I loved to take baths in the River or just go for a walk in the beautiful nature around. Last but not least, the food was so good! Fresh, healthy, varied and plenty of it. So, thanks for the great time, the good and funny conversations and the opportunity to experience the good swedish way of living.

I loved my time teaching at this academy. It was hard at first, as I’ve never taught English before and there were a few moments where I felt like I was being thrown into the deep end with little information or structure to carry on from… but after about 1 week I began to get into the swing of things. I LOVED the students I got to teach, and miss them dearly. So many fantastic discussions were held with some of the most thoughtful and mature teenagers I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking with. The other teachers at the academy are lovely as well, and it was interesting getting to rotate throughout all of their classes and learn from their different teaching styles. Ultimately, I bonded the most with the students I got to teach on my own, but assisting in the classes with the adult students never failed to be a highlight in my day. Once, they even brought in a bunch of Colombian snacks and candies for me to eat in front of them so they could see my reactions!!! It was like a live mukbang experience. You get a curriculum every week that gives you a basic idea of what you’ll be teaching, along with some material/slideshows, but I usually had to spend a good bit of time figuring out and planning extra activities for the students to fill up our time together. This position definitely feels like a proper job as it comes with a fair amount of responsibilities, but I’d say the payoff of being around these students makes it completely worth it. I stayed in a really nice flat with Alejandro’s mom and two different volunteers during my time in Zipa. I really loved this aspect of the workaway, as it made such a big difference to have another person to share in the experience with!! Definitely another highlight was meeting them. So many moments and memories made in Zipa that I can simply never forget, and so many people who have touched my heart here. I’m extremely grateful.

¡Fue una experiencia increíble! Me quedé 10 días en la casa de María, Aldo y sus hijas. ¡Lo pasé genial! Te hacen sentir como en casa. Son muy amables. Fue un placer contribuir a su proyecto. La comida de María, en una o dos palabras: riquísima y hecha con mucho amor. Si quieres vivir una experiencia humana, compartir, reír y aprender, ¡es el lugar perfecto! Me quedé 10 días en la casa de Sandra y David y lo pasé genial. Son muy amables, la comida era riquísima (el pan de David, los jugos con naranjas del jardín, los platos a la tailandesa…). Pasamos mucho tiempo jugando y charlando de todo, sobre todo de viajes. Además, el trabajo no fue difícil. Gracias por todo, cuídense y hasta luego 😊

Voluntering at Marie's and Patrick's place for 3 weeks was a wonderful time. I felt very welcomed and included from the start. They showed me places around the area and helped me a lot with planning trips for my days off and also with other things, such as giving me a lift to Bantry when I needed to send a letter. The work in the garden and some indoor cleaning was very enjoyable, even if the weather was a bit unpredictable at times. Patrick and Marie explained every task to me, and were very kind and understanding when sometimes I'd misunderstand something due to being a non-native speaker. Some days I'd mostly paint or weed (quite relaxing) while on others the tasks were shorter and more varied. Having my own room and bathroom was great, and I had a fantastic view outside the windows. If you volunteer at their place and like hiking, I very much recommend hiking to Glengariff on one of your days off. You're going to see an epic landscape! Seriosly, it's breathtaking. I'm also gonna miss Toffee, Meow Meow, and the hens, who somehow managed to keep escaping no matter how much we worked on the fence. Thank you Marie, Patrick and the rest of the family! I couldn't have wished for a better volunteering experience.
