I'm Hélène. I'm a primary school teacher. My English is rather poor, but I will be happy to practice it again. My husband is an engineer. We have 3 sons : Corentin (18), Antonin (16) and Félicien (13). We all practice scuba diving. Corentin is a fencer, Antonin practices Viet vo dao (Vietnamese Martial Art), Félicien practices theatre and circus.
We live in the south of France, in a small town named Romans-sur-Isère (~40000 inhabitants). It is less than half an hour from Valence (not in Spain), 1 hour far from Grenoble and 1 hour in the south of Lyon, at the feet of Vercors mountain.
Discovering the world is something we are passionate about, so talking to people from all over the world is very enriching for us too. I would like my children to become workaways when they come of age.

Nearby, depending on the season, you can visit some remarkable caves, go for walks in the mountains or hills, admire ancient remains...

While my husband speaks English and German fluently, the rest of the family doesn't, and we need to practice!
We really need someone who speaks English and/or German (mother tongue), but who also has a little practice of French (not perfect ;-).
We are looking for someone who is good at DIY and is self-sufficient, as the house is old and often needs to be renovated. For example, we have to plaster the walls with cement and move some partitions.
The small garden is also in need of maintenance (mowing, pruning, cleaning gutters, watering plants, weeding...)
If you are a carpenter, a staircase needs to be completely redone.
You'll also need to maintain cleanliness in one part of the house, but it won't take much time.
Workaways who love to cook are welcome! We are not allergic to anything and eat everything ;-) Of course, I'll also teach you some French specialties, if you wish.
The rest of the time and on weekends you can do what you want. Bring your culture with you, and we will show you ours !

The regional and bus stations are a 5 minute walk from our house.
We live 20 minutes from the Valence TGV station by car or bus (2h30 from Paris). Our regional station provides quick access to the TGV station.
