I am building an Artist Residency out of a property in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. We hope to eventually offer a stay in this Desert Oasis to artists coming to TorC for the inspiration of the desert and the healing hot spring water that runs under the downtown district of our town. Our property is a half mile walk to the hot-spring district.
Truth or Consequences has a growing artist community and I would love my property to be somewhere artist can come to be inspired.
We would like to have an urban farm with organic beds and a mini orchard and offer meals to our artists that are organic and locally sustained ... And in our big dreams we eventually want to be able to use the property for small community gatherings, sweat lodge, and more.

Truth or Consequences is a very special little town, almost a step back in time, a smaller community, a diverse and artistic town, rich in history. It is historically a healing place because of the hot springs, our water is some of the most ph balanced hot spring water in the world and it used to be prescribed to people to soak every day for 20 days to cure almost anything.. It is also nestled in the heart of New Mexico where a few hours drive in any direction will take you to small towns and places that are sought after from around the world, Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, The Gila National Forest, Lincoln, NM home of Jesse James, Silver City and more .. You will truly be nestled in the heart of the Wild West.. where cowboys, rednecks, artists, musicians, and everyone in between gathers at the same watering hole. An important thing to see in this modern time, that people of many backgrounds can come together and agree, especially over art and music.
We will work together on projects and learn from each other, that is our biggest priority. We have learned unique building skills that are required for the desert, and are open to learn more from our guests the best practices for creating a space in a way that is sustainable, and earth friendly. The desert is a rich land, and we are always learning more about plants and wildlife, and weather systems that shape this land. We would also love to learn about other cultures and have guests that can teach us what they know as well, anything from how to help change our yard into a place where art and music are made and inspired, to how to cook a meal.. etc. I am a great cook and would be happy to teach paleo practices.. or we'd love to learn from someone how to cook vegan or vegetarian as well!
