The property is in the heart of the Karangahake Gorge. A sharply winding canyon formed by the Ohinemuri River, that runs between the Coromandel and Kaimai ranges, at the southern end of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand's North Island. In this area there is a range of activities for those looking to enjoy the outdoors; The Hauraki Rail Trail Cycleway from Thames to Waihi borders the property. Explore the rocky terrain and rich mining history of Karangahake Gorge Historic Walkway, carved by the boulder-strewn Ohinemuri River. Hike or bike along the old railway line, inspect the remnants and ruins of the gold mining industry and delve into some of the former railway and mining tunnels. Several old bridges span the foaming water, including a wire suspension bridge.
