Descripción
This is a Mixed for both boys and girls, based in Suba District.
We practice organic farming incorporated into a school curriculum through a school club. The school has a demonstration farm growing vegetables, fruit trees and also a tree Nursery. We hold talks about Permaculture and its subtopics as well as demonstrate solutions for the household and small-scale levels. The students themselves disseminate the knowledge with their peers and parents when they go back home. The school is for both boys and girls of ages 5 – 14 years. The school is the first of its kind in Kenya and will develop over years to be economically self- sustainable.
The local community is passionate about the potential to develop sustainably and with existing resources, and have been working towards increasing biodiversity by conserving and promoting a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora on the farm.
We also welcome volunteers who are interested in teaching subjects like English, Maths, Sciences (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) and Arts.
Alongside these we also have other programs together with the local community such as HIV/AIDS education, Non Violence communication, Water and sanitation, girl child, women empowerment etc

Work starts in the morning at around 9am and the duration varies from project to project i.e those who will be working in the farm will have to stop before the sun gets strong unless they are comfortable with the strong sun...... Those helping at school are free to spend the day at school. During weekends, volunteers will have time to do their own things such as reading, hiking, visiting friends, visiting the park, etc

Alojamiento
The school will provide accommodation for the volunteers. the kind of accommodation will be home based where a volunteer stay with the host family (one of the teachers) for the purpose of cultural integration and immersion.
The volunteer will be given a lockable room with bed, table etc
Volunteers are encouraged to take part in daily domestic chores so that they fully understand our way of life

The volunteer will be picked at a nearby town (Homa bay) and will be taken to the school. this will be done by the host family.
