  Join us if you are looking for being a part of a substainable farm and social project.
  
  We are an agroecological farm, established in 2015, based in Niaguis, 12 km from Ziguinchor. The objective is to grow what we eat and to eat what we grow with the aim of making money in order to foster local development in such a way to create local employment especially for women and young people, to reduce poverty and illegal immigration, which are significant issues within our community. The project has already inspired other people in the village who have followed Bourama’s example and created their own farm to make a living.
  
  Bourama created this project with his friends. Bourama has a master’s degree in international cooperation and local development. After his studies in Ziguinchor, he decided to come back to his village and start with the project.

  La Ferme Agroécologique a été créée en 2015 avec pour mission de promouvoir la consommation locale de produits sains afin de réduire les importations et l’empreinte écologique des transports. La ferme pratique différentes activités de maraîchage, d’arboriculture et d’apiculture respectueuses de l’environnement en vue de créer des emplois stables pour améliorer les conditions de vie des populations locales et contribuer à la lutte contre l’immigration illégale. Ce projet a inspiré d’autres villageois, qui ont à leur tour créé une ferme pour subvenir à leurs besoins.
  
  Bourama, le fondateur de la ferme, a lancé ce projet avec ses amis après être retourné au village à la fin de son master en coopération internationale et développement local.

  Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje

  Niaguis is a village of multicultural ethnic groups with different practices. People in the village as well as the guys working on the farm have been welcoming people from all around the world since 2011. We are used to share our culture. If you want to experience cultural exchange and be part of the community, you can go by yourself to the village during your free time. We live in the middle of the forest, 45 minutes by walk or 10 minutes by moto taxi (Jakarta) from Niaguis. Ina, the mother of Bourama, lives there. Dependings on the period, we go to visit friends or family, celebrate local events such as weddings, baptism, cultural and religious meetings, … Niaguis is a small village, you are easily integrated in the community.

  Ayuda

  No experience is needed, only your motivation counts! Profiles with an interest in physical work or construction projects are particularly appreciated. Taking initiative and being able to come up with new ideas are valuable assets! The following are the tasks we can assign to volunteers: watering, harvesting, support in the breeding of chickens and participation in the construction or development of infrastructure on the farm.
  
  Others missions welcome :
  
  - Processing of local products (April to June): participating in the production of jams, juices and other products made from mangoes and cashew apples
  -Administrative management: support for the organization and administrative follow-up of the farm.
  -Communication and management of social networks: creation of content and animation of social networks, management of newsletters
  -Search for funding: help to identify and solicit partners
  -Video creation: making a video to present the farm and its activities

  Aucune expérience n’est nécessaire, seule votre motivation compte ! Les profils ayant un intérêt pour les travaux physiques ou les projets de construction sont particulièrement appréciés. La prise d’initiative et la capacité à proposer de nouvelles idées sont des atouts précieux ! Voici les missions que nous pouvons confier aux volontaires :
  -Arrosage et entretien des cultures de maraîchage
  -Récolter les fruits
  -Soutien dans l’élevage de poulets
  -Transformation des produits locaux (avril à juin) : participer à la production de confitures, jus et autres produits à base de mangues et de pommes d’anacardier
  -Éco-construction : participation à la construction ou à l’aménagements d’infrastructures à la ferme.
  -Gestion administrative : appui à l’organisation et au suivi administratif de la ferme.
  -Communication et gestion des réseaux sociaux : création de contenus et animation des réseaux sociaux, gestion de la newsletters
  -Recherche de financements : aide pour identifier et solliciter des partenaires
  -Création de vidéos : réalisation d’une vidéo pour présenter la ferme et ses activités

  Bourama studied foreign languages. We are very interested in languages and sharing. At the farm you can hear wolof, diola, manding, pular, english, french, spanish, portuguese !

  Alojamiento

  We live in a small Senegalese house built in 2021 on the farm. The farm is in the middle of the forest and surrounded by fields and nature. No neighbour, just peace and silence. Day after day we are building new infrastructures to make it more and more comfortable. Our electricity comes from our solar panel system.
  
  There are 2 rooms for welcoming our volunteers. Each room has 2 mattresses and mosquito nets. You will share the room and you will live as we do. Currently, we have 2 showers and a squat toilets.
  
  We usually share breakfast, lunch and dinner all together. We eat mostly rice and fish, sometime veggies from our garden. However, we are not used to cook great variety of meals so you're welcome to cook a special dish from your country ! Also, feel free to buy extra-food as you can / want. For example fruits, more vegetable, butter, local honey or pasta. There's a small market in Niaguis, you can go by yourself or just ask the guys to buy what you need. Also, Ziguinchor with bigger supermarkets is not far away.

  Nous vivons et travaillons sur place, une petite case sénégalaise construite en 2021, située en pleine forêt, entourée de champs et de nature. Pas de voisin, juste la paix et le silence. Chaque jour, nous améliorons les infrastructures pour plus de confort. Notre électricité provient de notre système de panneaux solaires.
  
  Il y a 2 chambres pour les bénévoles, chacune équipée de 2 matelas avec moustiquaires. Les chambres sont partagées, et vous vivrez dans les mêmes conditions que nous. Actuellement, nous avons 2 douches et un squat toilettes.
  
  
  Nous partageons les 3 repas de la journée ensemble. Nous mangeons principalement du riz, du poisson et quelques légumes. Cependant, notre cuisine reste simple et vous êtes invités à préparer des plats spéciaux de votre pays si vous le souhaitez. Vous pouvez acheter des aliments supplémentaires si vous en ressentez le besoin, comme des fruits, des légumes, du café, du miel local ou des pâtes. A Niaguis, un petit marché local est accessible à vélo. A Ziguinchor, un grand marché et un supermarché sont là pour plus de choix.

  The Casamance river is not far. You can easily go there from Niaguis to swim. You can also take a 7 places or moto taxi (Jakarta) to go to Ziguinchor where you can discover the local markets (marché Boucotte et marché artisanal). We are happy to advice you for travelling around Casamance! Or even organize tours for you (one of the guys also works as a tourist guide).
  
  If you want to get involved with children at the school (during your free time), we can discuss about it. However, this is only possible if you stay for a longer period of time.

  The main building is powered by solar energy, allowing you to charge your phone.
