Help with dry stone building and landscaping at our off-grid home near Cascastel-des-Corbières, France

  We are a Franco-Scottish couple; she is a handweaver, spinner and natural dyer, he is a documentary film maker. We have two small and friendly dogs.
  We are now living full time in our former shepherd stone house, which we have restored over the years and is nearing completion.
  We are living fully independently of the grid with our own water supply and electricity from solar panels.
  Our very old house is in an isolated location, in the garrigue, safe and very peaceful, with breathtaking night skies (total absence of light pollution)
  
  We are now at the stage of wanting to create several outdoor spaces, landscaping the garden in a free and creative way, build some dry stone walls, plant trees (we already have 20 young olive trees, planted 16 years ago), create shade with shelters etc.
  We see it as an opportunity for people to exercise their own creativity, and to participate in that adventure with us.
  
  We have a small one person corner bedroom, a big caravan with double bedroom and 2 sofa beds and two spaces for camper vans. A family could also stay here and we have a big trampoline.
  
  We can cater for any diet (though we are vegetarian + fish) and would prefer non-smoking people. Pets are welcome.
  
  Nous sommes un couple franco-écossais, réalisateur de films documentaires et tisserande à bras, fileuse et teinturière à base de plantes.
  Nous avons deux jeunes petits chiens très amicaux. Nous vivons à présent à plein temps dans notre bergerie en pierre que nous avons restaurée au fil des années et qui sera bientôt finie.
  Nous vivons de façon totalement indépendante, ayant notre propre forage et installation solaire.
  Notre très vieille bergerie est isolée dans la garrigue, sûre et tranquille, avec des cieux de nuits qui vous coupent le souffle.
  
  Nous aimerions maintenant créer plusieurs espaces extérieurs, aménager et organiser le jardin de façon libre et créative, créer des terrasses, monter quelques murs en pierre sèche, planter des arbres (nous avons déjà 20 oliviers, plantés il y a 16 ans), créer des espaces ombragés et des abris.
  
  Nous voyons cela comme une occasion pour des personnes d’exercer toute leur créativité et de contribuer à cette aventure avec nous.
  
  Nous avons une petite chambre boudoir pour une personne, une grande caravane avec chambre séparée (lit double) et 2 lits banquettes, et deux espaces pour camping cars. Une famille pourrait donc aussi venir ici et nous avons un grand trampoline.
  
  Nous pouvons répondre à toutes sortes de régimes alimentaires (nous sommes végétariens + poisson), et préférons avoir des non-fumeurs. Les animaux de compagnie sont les bienvenus.

  We can share our activities with them (photography, film editing, textile design, weaving, spinning, music, tinctorial plant garden etc.) in exchange for manual and creative help with the garden.
  We are both bilingual and also speak other languages which we are happy to share.
  We will also show them this wonderful area full of history as we are in the middle of the Cathare castles and 40 minutes away from beautiful Mediterranean beaches and windsurfing areas.
  
  Nous pouvons, en échange de participation manuelle dans le jardin, partager avec eux nos activités ( photographie, montage de films, design textile, tissage, filage, jardin de plantes tinctoriales et teintures etc.).
  Nous sommes tous deux bilingues et parlons plusieurs autres langues, que nous serons contents de partager.
  Nous leur ferons aussi visiter cette merveilleuse région pleine d’histoire, car nous sommes situés au-milieu des châteaux cathares et à 40 minutes des plages de la Méditerranée et des lieux de Windsurf.

  We are looking for individuals who would like to create spaces, shelters, landscape as if it was theirs. We can provide directions of course, tools and guidance. We both followed a dry stone wall training in Scotland and there are plenty of stones here in our Occitan garden to train with!
  
  Nous recherchons des personnes qui seraient intéressées par la création d’espaces extérieurs, d’abris, l’aménagement du jardin et du terrain en mettant leurs propres marques. Nous pouvons bien sûr guider et fournir les outils. Nous avons tous les deux suivi un stage en Écosse pour monter un mur en pierres sèches et il y a tout ce qu’il faut comme pierres dans notre jardin en Occitanie pour s’entraîner ici!

  We speak both French and English on a regular basis. Dominique speaks also Spanish, German and Swedish and Jonathan (used to) speak Italian

  Alojamiento

  Bergerie, old steading, one person corner bedroom inside, a big and comfortable outside caravan for 2 + 2, two outdoor spaces for camper vans. Special catering possible. Delicious breakfasts. Meals and dinners provided at times to suit everybody. Can be taken inside or outside. Siestas places with hammocks.
  
  Bergerie, un boudoir une personne, une grande caravane très confortable pour deux personnes + 2 , 2 espaces extérieurs pour camping cars. Repas pour tous types de régime. Super petits déjeuners. Déjeuners et dîners fournis à des heures qui conviennent à tous, pouvant être pris dehors ou dedans. Coins de siestes avec hamacs.

  We live in a remote place, which is a green tourism area, with many places to visit on foot and by bicycle. Step out of the house and straight into the garrigue for a walk. The sea is approximately 40 minutes away by car. During July and August there are swimming pools in nearby villages. History is big here with the former presence of the Cathars. We have a huge bilingual library too, a piano, a cello, flutes and djembés.
  
  Bien que nous vivions dans un coin reculé, c’est un lieu pour le tourisme vert, directement depuis la maison - promenade à pied ou à vélo. La mer est à 40 minutes environ en voiture. En juillet aout il y a des piscines dans les villages environnants. L’histoire est très présente avec les chateaux autrefois occupés par les Cathares. Nous avons aussi une très grande bibliothèque bilingue, un piano, un violoncelle, des flûtes et des djembés.

  We are located four km from the nearest village, and the house is equipped with a signal booster for the 4G signal which feeds an Orange box, giving us sufficiently fast Wifi to watch films. The 4G signal works also in the parking area.

  There is a flat area close to the main house where camper vans can be parked. There is plenty of water from the well.

  We have two young dogs, brother and sister, who are very friendly after initial introductions have been established. They play together all day and they play with dogs of visiting friends.
