If you love nature and being up in the hills away from the big town! *NEW PROJECT : help dig a walipini. The project: Permaculture, making coldframes, puttying greenhouse doors for cabin or the walipini. Garden in need of digging after the hot weather- you could plan what happens in it! Are you musical? Great opportunity to have some fun jamming :)
There's a wood-fired pizza/bread oven at the house and a solar oven for the gardens. All veg gardens are on the outside of the rampart walls southside. All help with repairs etc very welcome. The plaster & paintwork needing attention after the heat! Previous Workaway volunteers have participated in local fetes & festivals, concerts, language exchange... *chestnut festival 25th October 2026 and 4000 visitors!
Castelnau-Pegayrols at 750m altitude with views over the gorge & Larzac plateau to Mont Aigual.
*Rural community in the Grand Causse National Park, mountains, Roquefort, Couvertoirade, Peyrelade, Peyre, Compregnac are all within 30 mins.
You won't be helping with the guests, no reception, no bar, no restaurant.
***20km from the town!!! ***NO bus! ***NO shops! I cannot accept smokers! And no animals or children in my home until October, but in season, nomads with campervans can be accepted onto the designated parking zone outside the village, and your dog or cat will need to be there while you are helping.c -

Helping me dig and make a walipini, permaculture,making coldframes,potting seeds & planting out,pergola posts for greenhouse doors etc Watering from a natural drip-fed stone well, prepare beds,sourcing natural material from the forest etc.One garden area still in need of digging- you could plan what happens in it! Helping with some light maintenance and cleaning in the house where you'll be staying. You won't be helping with the guests in the reception, bar, restaurant ie no cooking or waitering etc.

Gallo-Roman site Graufesenque, Roquefort cheese, gorge du tarn, Bouloc 4km:grocery store.Saint Rome-du-Tarn 15km:pharmacist,doctor.100m Waterfall,local beaches,swimming.Compregnac 7km;truffles and vineyards! lakes 20 mins.
