Hello!

I live in Asheville, North Carolina, USA, where I work as an outdoor program coordinator. I have a break between contracts, and I am interested in using the time off to improve my Spanish and snowboarding skills. I am looking for a workaway close to a ski area that I can get to via public transportation. My ideal work would involve some time outside, using my hands, being creative, and sharing time with others.

I have lived in Spain (Vigo) and Costa Rica in the past, and am able to communicate well most of my ideas. I am very excited to improve my Spanish, and help others with their English.

Vivo en Asheville, Carolina del Norte, EE. UU., donde trabajo como coordinadora de programas al aire libre. Tengo una pausa entre contratos y estoy interesado en utilizar el tiempo libre para mejorar mis habilidades de español y snowboard. Estoy buscando un workaway cerca de una zona de esquí a la que pueda llegar en transporte público. Mi trabajo ideal implicaría pasar tiempo al aire libre, usar las manos, ser creativo y compartir tiempo con los demás.

He vivido en España (Vigo) y Costa Rica en el pasado y puedo comunicar bien la mayoría de mis ideas. Estoy muy emocionado de mejorar mi español y ayudar a otros con su inglés.

What else ...

Most of my work experience has been in the outdoor industry. I have worked as a zipline guide, summer camp counselor, adventure trip leader, leadership instructor, and program coordinator. All of these jobs have allowed me to practice compassion, patience, and empathy. Because of this, I am an exceptional communicator and teacher. I am a fast learner and problem solver, and quick to make friends.

I learned Spanish in high school, and lived in Costa Rica for 4 months in 2016. There I lived with a host family in the mountains, volunteered in a hostel in San Jose, and explored Panama and Nicaragua with breakdancing friends. I studied abroad in Vigo in 2019, and traveled around Europe the following summer.

La mayor parte de mi experiencia laboral ha sido en la industria al aire libre. He trabajado como guía de tirolesa, consejera de campamentos de verano, líder de viajes de aventura, instructora de liderazgo y coordinadora de programas. Todos estos trabajos me han permitido practicar la compasión, la paciencia y la empatía. Por eso soy un comunicador y profesor excepcional. Aprendo rápido, resuelvo problemas y hago amigos rápidamente.

Aprendí español en la escuela secundaria y viví en Costa Rica durante 4 meses en 2016. Allí viví con una familia anfitriona en las montañas, fui voluntaria en un albergue en San José y exploré Panamá y Nicaragua con amigos que bailaban breakdance. Estudié en el extranjero en Vigo en 2019 y viajé por Europa el verano siguiente.
