Description
We are Alex and Tammy, a German couple just finished travelling New Zealand for 6 months in our camper van. After finishing our master’s degrees in Vienna, we decided to step out into the world and stopped first in Japan for 2 months until we came to NZ. As we talked about our plans for the summer, before we return to Vienna in September, we decided we wanted to immerse ourselves in the culture and language of our beloved Italy, which we traveled a few times together, but never found the time to do a workaway before. There is no time like the present so we would love to learn, work and enjoy Italy with time on our hands. We both enjoy good movies, series and music and talking for hours about these topics. Concerts and festivals are a big part of our free time, sometimes Alex even plays some tunes at the stages. We both enjoy the company of both humans and animals alike and spend time outside in nature hiking and biking. Tammy can be found doing stuff with her hands like knitting, doing pottery and trying new recipes. Alex is a very active person, always motivated with a hands-on mentality, playing music, doing different kinds of sport and organising community events on Danube Island in Vienna.

We are both quite handy people since we build our own campervan „Wolle“ during covid. We’ve build closets, a kitchen corner, a bed and did the insulation, electricity including solar panels and the water system by ourselves without any prior knowledge. Since Alex has a civil engineering background he is also good with planning projects and visualising them via softwares like Revit or Archicad. Tammy is into gardening and has a lot of knowledge about plants and how to use them. We are both big fans of animals and have been sitting dogs and cats a few times.
At our workaway stays in New Zealand we also helped put up a yurt and built the wooden deck as base for it. We also worked at a forestation project, planting trees and smaller plants and taking care of the nursery.
