“Chasing freedom and adventure, I'm setting out with all my heart to dive into this big, beautiful world, ready to discover, explore, and learn from it"
My next destination:
Italy - from Apr 2024 until Jun 2024 View allDescription
Hi there, future host, family, travel buddy :) :) :)
Journey Dates:
My adventures will kick off on April 10, 2024, as I set out on a journey from Zurich to Tehran, where I'll spend three months with my Iranian family (planning to be there at the beginning of September 2024). It will be my second time being with them in my life. My journey to Tehran will take me through South Tyrol, to Feltre in Bolzano, the hometown of my grandfather, which I'd like to explore. From there, I'll head to Venice, then along the Italian coast to Bari, where I'll meet a friend and spend some time. From Italy, I'll take the ferry to Greece. After visiting Athens, I'd like to hop from island to island on to Turkey. My journey aims to lead me to the northwestern Iranian metropolis of Tabriz, and essentially to Tehran.
Who I am and skills:
Raised in a Swiss family with Italian and Iranian roots, I'm generally a calm person, not always chatty but quite sociable, and enjoy being around people. I'm empathetic, helpful, and a good listener. Here are some of my interests: I recently started playing the piano, I enjoy reading, and I'm into sports like Uni-Hockey or Vita-parcour. I also started to do some yoga and would love to learn more about it. I also like playing games, especially the card game 500.
At 27, I'm a trained and experienced chef; I even cooked for a family of 12 during my previous Workaway stay in England. I'm handy around the house, skilled with crafts like painting, gardening, and building, and I'm good with kids (they seem to really like me, although I'm not exactly sure why). I'm also pet-friendly, I’ve grown up with 2 dogs. I can be quite creative and inventive, and when it comes to work, I have a systematic approach. I’m pretty sure whatever task you give me, I can handle it.
What I'm looking for:
I don't want to plan my trip too much; I'm all for letting life throw surprises my way. It'd be super cool to spend a few weeks here and there with a family or people who think alike. I'd love to learn about permaculture, how to build a house, to learn about art, or how to run a business. I travel simply, with just a stick, a hat, and my backpack. If I can't find a hostel or a place to stay, I'm more than happy to sleep under the stars, on the beach, or in a tent. My way of getting around involves walking, cycling, catching trains, and taking ferries – I just go with the flow. It would be great to hitch a ride with someone going the same way, especially if you have a van ;-)
Goal of my travels:
One of my goals is to live closer to nature and really experience it. Instead of connecting to WiFi, I want to connect with people and hear their stories ;-) I'm looking for experiences and joy in life. Waking up with the sun on my face, getting caught in the rain, playing music and games together in the evenings, laughing, and celebrating life. I hope to find places that are beyond words, places where I'd love to live.Interests
