  • Description

I was lucky enough to grow up on an off-grid homestead in the Canadian wilderness with a big herd of horses. A connection to nature, a deep love of horses, and an appreciation for the fun that can be had while doing hard work has stayed with me...as has a yearning for the community feeling that comes from sharing meaningful tasks.

I was also fortunate to earn a scholarship to attend a 2 year IB program at an international school where all the students and staff lived on campus (Pearson College, UWC)...living and working with other young people from 75 different countries was an incredible experience that created enduring connections and a love of cultural exchange.

  • More details about your skills

I am an artist with multimedia skills and my work as a graphic designer that focuses on nonprofit communication and marketing materials is rewarding and has helped me develop tools that are often useful to other creative people, entrepreneurs, community projects, or small businesses. I am looking for meaningful travel experiences where I can contribute my skills and connect with people who are living authentic lives.

Outside of my professional graphic design and photography work, I have experience wrangling horses on mountain pack trips, cleaning and doing office work at resorts, cooking for workers and guests on a community farm, picking cherries, planting trees, working with children in art/activity camp settings and in a therapeutic riding program.

I am not a chef or an expert gardener or a real carpenter...but I have enough skills to be helpful and useful with making meals from scratch, helping with harvest, taking care of or helping to build gardens, helping with small building or reno projects, taking care of animals (esp. cats, dogs, horses), and I'm always open to learning and trying new things.
