Description
We're an easy-going, sociable couple in our 30s with a strong interest in Latin America, which is why we want to spend time forming meaningful connections and learning about the rich cultures here. We've lived in Mexico, done various Workaways in Colombia and spent time travelling in other countries in the region. Patrick's work in climate policy has focused on LatAm, which is why we're interested in connecting with nature on this trip. We're very easy about what types of roles we could do to help out, whether it's gardening, arts projects, manual work or anything requiring English/Spanish language skills. We're excited to spend time meeting new people, learning from others and sharing our skills!
We have previously used Workaway to work and travel in various Spanish speaking countries and have had consistently good experiences. We are very excited to start our next adventure!

More details about your skills
We both have a range of skills we can offer - we've been English teachers for the British Council in Mexico City and have experience teaching English to all ages and abilities. We are both very competent Spanish speakers and have lived and travelled in various Spanish speaking countries. We are flexible as to which language the host would prefer to communicate in, and are always keen to develop our language skills and to help others do the same.
We are both very interested in the arts, and would love to bring our creative skills to a Workaway placement where they are required. Patrick studied music at university and plays a few instruments (including the guitar and piano), and has worked in various community-based arts projects in the UK before. He has also worked as a private guitar tutor in the past, so would be happy to give tuition on whatever instruments the host has available. Billie has also worked with arts-based projects, including a mural painting project in a primary school in Guatemala, as well as in various voluntary roles supporting refugees in the UK.
Billie is a keen cook and has a lot of experience with vegetarian/vegan cooking. She has previously worked on farmstays in Central America through Workaway in the past. We both have lots of experience working in hospitality, including bar work, reception work and catering.
We have a garden we tend to in London and have worked in nature for workaway projects in the past. Patrick has experience managing sustainable projects professionally, and would be interested in bringing these skills to a workaway too.
