Hello not yet met friends! I am Øystein (Austin in English) from Norway, queer, curious and ready to take on the world (with open arms)! As of September 2023, I am blessed to have had 10 wonderful cultural exchanges. Thank you dear friends for the good times and for helping me grow!

So who am I? Still trying to figure that out hahaha. I currently work at both a care home and sometimes a primary school, but my real calling is to work with plants. That includes:
* Cultivating food and medicine, especially following the principles of permaculture (or syntropic farming and the like).
* Designing permaculture systems.
* Herbs and their medicinal and spiritual uses.
* Foraging.
* Stewardship of land.

Other interests:
* Building sustainably (cob, earth etc).
* Yoga and meditation.
* Earth revering practices
* Ancient ceremonies and rituals.
* Indigenous healing (sweatlodge etc).
* Personal growth.

All of the above are topics I am a beginner at (if even that haha), but it is something I am interested in and working on.

Other than my curiosity about people's day-to-day lives around the globe, I am looking for my place and purpose in this world, and somewhere to call home. My dream is to live in a community or commune that focuses on self-sufficiency, sustainability, cooperation, acceptance, love and peace. A place to shed toxic behaviour from the troublesome society we live in, grow into a better self and do our best for a promising future. I recently had my first spiritual experience at a Temazcal ceremony in a community in Ecuador, and am looking to explore that connection to people and the Earth more too.
