  • Description

Hi, I'm an Irish student who has just finished my degree in sustainable civil engineering and I'm about to head off to South America for an adventure!

I find joy in being outdoors and surrounded by nature. Hiking, camping, and exploring new environments are some of my favorite activities, and I'm excited to see what South America has to offer in that regard. I also enjoy playing sports and being physically active, which helps me maintain my physical and mental health.

Socializing and making meaningful connections with others are important to me. I value spending time with friends and family, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. I'm also passionate about sustainable engineering and preserving our natural environment, so I find fulfillment in working towards a healthier planet.

More details about my language interests
As a sustainable civil engineer with a passion for working with diverse communities and contributing to sustainable development, learning Spanish is important to me for a number of reasons. Firstly, Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, with over 500 million speakers worldwide. By learning Spanish, I can communicate more effectively with people in many countries and regions, particularly in Latin America, where I am interested in working and traveling. In addition, learning Spanish would allow me to better understand and appreciate different cultures and perspectives. I believe that cultural exchange is an important aspect of sustainable development, and that learning another language is a key way to facilitate that exchange. Being able to communicate with people in their native language can help build trust, foster collaboration, and deepen understanding. Furthermore, being fluent in Spanish could open up new opportunities for me both personally and professionally. For example, it could enable me to work on projects in Spanish-speaking countries, collaborate with international organizations, or pursue further education or research in Spanish-speaking contexts.
