My next destination:
Ecuador - from Mar 2024 until Jun 2024 View allDescription
I'm a French student backpacking in South America during a gap year. I want to discover the wonders of this continent and discover the local cultures through volunteering.
I love outdoor sports such as rock climbing, hiking, mountaineering, camping and slacklining. I also enjoy listening to and playing music (guitar, piano, percussions, and I'd love to learn to play the quena flute).

[English]Languages are the gateway to foreign cultures. They allow us to communicate with people from different parts of the world, understand their customs, and learn about their history. During my studies, I took courses in Spanish, English, Italian, Russian and Arabic, and also learnt a little Icelandic during a three-month stay in Reykjavik. I believe that learning a new language is a challenging but rewarding experience which broadens our horizons and develops new perspectives. Teaching a language can be equally fulfilling, as it allows us to share our knowledge and help others discover different cultures. It is a challenge I haven't yet taken up, but I'd love to have the opportunity to do so. Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

Feedback
I spent one week there along a friend and the experience was simply amazing. The place itself is a magical, colorful and ingenious composition of handmade constructions, plants and repurposed objects. Sergio and Gabriela are adorable and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. The tasks were very varied, ranging from gardening to… read more
