My next destination:
İzmir, Turkey - from Aug 2025 until Sep 2025 View allDescription
Hi! I’m currently exploring Nepal, Vietnam, and Indonesia on a three-month journey, and I’ll be landing in Turkey in late August—ready to immerse myself in the culture, the people, and the daily rhythm of life in one of the world’s most dynamic cities. I am looking for a workaway in Istanbul or Izmir from August 30 - September 11.
I’ve always been curious about how people live, connect, and care for each other. I’m especially excited to experience Turkish hospitality, share stories, and contribute wherever I can—whether that’s in a family home, a cozy guesthouse, or a language café.
I’ve been teaching vinyasa yoga for a year and a half, and bring a calm, grounded energy to whatever I do. I also love music (especially jazz and dance music), books, thoughtful conversation, and being part of a team. I’m hard-working, friendly, and genuinely enjoy helping others feel at ease.
This is my first Workaway adventure, and I’m looking forward to offering my presence, curiosity, and willingness to jump in. If there’s tea involved, even better. ☕️ Before Turkey, I will have visited Nepal (trekking the Annapurna circuit), Vietnam, and Indonesia. I will be doing an ashtanga yoga retreat in Izmir starting September 12!Interests

More details about your skills
I bring a mix of practical skills, curiosity, and a grounded, thoughtful approach to everything I do.
My academic background is in psychology and global public health (BS, 2018), followed by a law degree (JD, 2022). I’ve worked in a wide range of settings—advocating for widows’ rights in the UN system, interning with a university dean, working as a secretary, and advocating in the New York State legislature. When I was in school, I worked in a woodshop focused on building toys with and for children, so I'm handy and comfortable with kids. For the last 3 years, I have been practicing as a commercial litigation attorney in New York City.
Through all of these roles, I've developed strong communication skills, deep empathy, and an ability to stay organized and calm in fast-moving environments. I’m comfortable working with people from all walks of life, and I take pride in being reliable, thoughtful, and easy to work with—whether I’m managing logistics or just showing up with a good attitude.
Beyond work, I’ve taught yoga for over a year, love to read and write, and enjoy helping others feel welcome and at ease. Whether it’s helping with guests, supporting a retreat, teaching English, cooking, organizing, or just being a kind and calming presence—I’m here for it. I'm someone who genuinely enjoys helping out—whether that’s welcoming guests, tidying up, lending an ear, or being part of a daily routine.
I speak English fluently and studied Arabic in college—while I only know the alphabet now, I love languages and would be excited to help with basic English if needed.Age
