Hi! I'm Max.

Traveling, meeting and connecting with strangers, being out of my comfort zone, going on crazy adventures, and helping others are all things that bring me happiness, more than any material item could. Some of my more specific interests are being outdoors, I love hiking, kayaking, running, skiing, and just being in nature. I also love to cook, play the harmonica, and make art.

I took my first solo backpacking trip right after graduating high school, spending a month in California working at a homeless kitchen and two months in Costa Rica volunteering at a surf camp and then hitchhiking around the country. Since then, I've had the amazing opportunity to backpack, live and work in parts of Africa, Europe, Asia and Central America.

I recently decided to take a break from university to gain more real world experience and explore other career options before I go back to finish my degree. I have no set plans yet, just a yearning for adventure, so if you think I'd be a good fit for your Workaway or are just looking for a travel buddy, feel free to reach out!

I love cooking and baking—some of my favorite things to make are cookies, bagels, dumplings, and breakfast burritos :)

I rowed and skied competitively in school, so I am down for hard physical work that requires endurance. I'm very passionate about art, including origami and paper cutting, so I can also do work that requires precision and dexterity.

I've also spent some time working in restuarants, as a cashier and server, so I am comfortable with customer service-type work.

Unfortunately, I can only speak engilsh but I am 100% open to learning new language(s) this year. I know a little bit of french.
