Description
Hi there!! My name is Max Koenig and I am a 22 year old American from Wisconsin! I love working with and around kids and have been volunteering with children in the United States as well as abroad for most of my life! Additionally, I am super into being outside in nature, adventures, sports, music, learning about other people and cultures, etc!
I am very motivated because of my desire to better the next generation and empower them to be more self aware, open-minded, compassionate and accepting of other people and cultures!
The major things that being me a lot of happiness are connecting with people, good meaningful conversations, exercise, music, learning, nature, adventure and helping people to name a few!

Some of my skills include childcare, teaching, youth development and work with children! I volunteered; with an underfunded minority school, Mendota Elementary, for 3 years doing after school programing for 3 years in Madison WI, with an organization named Play and Learn in Accra, Ghana, providing one on one instruction and assistance to a child from a low income community, was a resident camp counselor in Northern Wisconsin at Camp Menominee, was a resident Outdoor Education Counselor at the Americorps site of Camp DREAM in Northern Vermont, was an English Teacher with GHJ International in Munakata Japan and finally was a volunteer at an elementary school, named 3 Mariposa Montessori in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. I have my TEFL, Youth Development Training, Sexual Harassment and Assault Prevention K-12, Certificates.
Additionally I have vast experience in outdoor maintenance, farming, building, lawn care and landscaping from a lot of my summer jobs as a teen. I worked for the Parks and Recreation Department in my hometown maintaining, fixing and building things for the local parks in my city as well as doing the yard work and lawn care/landscaping for all of the parks. Additionally, I worked at Devils Lake State Park doing maintenance and trail work in the park. Finally part of my role at Camp DREAM in Vermont and with 3 Mariposas Montessori was as a sustainability guide/teacher/mentor. I would teach the kids about sustainable agriculture and farming techniques, we would learn how we can be sustainable with the food we eat and the land we use on a day to day basis, etc.
I have worked, volunteered and lived abroad in many different countries and continents and pride myself in being able to adapt and learn so much about other cultures and peoples. I feel I have an ability to connect easily with people and love having conversations where i can learn morea bout the other person and their thoughts beliefs and ways of life!

I love to play cards and any and all board games! I am a HUGE music guy and love hearing learning about music and would be super interesting in learning how to play the guitar or any other instruments. I love to play any and all sports, basketball, soccer, football, frisbee, baseball, etc. Additionally, I am a big runner, biker, hiker and surfer and love to do these activities in my free time!
