Hi, I'm Marly!

I am a 24 year old woman from the Northeast in the United States. I'm very bright, positive, and reliable, and am embarking on my first solo adventure!

I have a degree in Sociology and Environmental Studies, and have spent the last few years exploring agriculture through working on organic vegetable farms and studying permaculture design. In addition to working on farms, I have worked in museums, art galleries, and managed programs for non-profit organizations.

I love spending time outdoors: gardening and farming, hiking and exploring, rock climbing and surfing, or just simply being! I love sharing community spaces, enjoying quality food, and living intentionally. I am also a knitter and practice yoga. While I enjoy my alone time, I thrive from creating connections with others.

I love to cook and share food with others, practice new languages, and share experiences. I am excited to embark on a new journey of learning and connecting through this program.

I have worked several seasons on organic vegetable farms, doing everything from greenhouse work to field work to working at markets, and feel very comfortable doing manual labor. I also have an Environmental Sociology degree, and completed a Permaculture Design Certificate course, after which I created a design for a household on a 3 acre plot.

I have worked at an animal shelter, where I managed the volunteer program and gained valuable insight in working with animals. I have also run educational programs for non-profits, both for the general public and specifically for school children. I have also worked at a variety of museums in public facing roles.

I am comfortable with and enjoy variety in my work, from doing a variety of outdoor manual labor, to interacting with people in different settings. I am a hard worker, tough, personable, upbeat, and friendly.

I'm a super active person, with hobbies including: running, cycling, rock climbing, yoga, and surfing! I love being outside. :)

I also love to eat good food, and have experience cooking vegetarian meals for up to 12 people. I would enjoy learning more about cooking culturally diverse foods.

I enjoy knitting, and am interested in learning more about making my own clothing. I practice creative writing, and enjoy exploring other creative pursuits, such as drawing and film photography.
