Ciao Workaway community!

I'm Maria, originally from the romantic canals of Venice, Italy, but currently soaking up the sun in Spain. Armed with a degree in International Relations and Human Rights, I've found my groove working at a migrant welcome center. Last year, I chose to step away from the familiar and embraced a solo travel journey that has been full of surprises ever since.

My first solo trip was two years ago in the Netherlands, where I immersed myself in the vibrant hostel life. Since then, I've been on a perpetual adventure, constantly seeking new experiences and connections. I love staying with people, learning their stories, and sharing a piece of myself in return. This is why I find myself savoring arepas and sipping mate—it's my way of embracing and appreciating diverse cultures.

When I'm not jet-setting, I love spending my free time in the kitchen. If I were to compare myself to a dish, I'd say I'm like a slide of lasagna—layered with experiences and seasoned with a pinch of humor!!

Soy Maria, originaria de los románticos canales de Venecia, Italia, pero actualmente disfrutando del sol en España. Con un título en Relaciones Internacionales y Derechos Humanos, he encontrado mi ritmo trabajando en un centro de bienvenida para migrantes. El año pasado, decidí dejar atrás una realidad conocida para adentrarme en una nueva aventura de viaje en solitario, una experiencia que no ha dejado de sorprenderme desde entonces.

Mi primer viaje en solitario fue hace dos años en los Países Bajos, donde me sumergí en la vibrante vida de los albergues. Desde entonces, he estado en una aventura perpetua, buscando constantemente nuevas experiencias y conexiones. Me encanta quedarme con la gente, aprender sus historias y compartir una parte de mí a cambio. Es por eso que me encuentro saboreando arepas y tomando mate, mi manera de abrazar y apreciar diversas culturas.

Cuando no estoy viajando, me encanta pasar mi tiempo libre en la cocina. Si tuviera que compararme con un plato, diría que soy como una porción de lasaña, llena de experiencias y sazonada con un toque de humor!!

Beyond my professional life, I am a cooker (According to my friends a Chef! ahah ), turning my free time into a culinary journey. I am currently involved in Italian cooking workshops and woorking on a sustainability project. This project focuses on incorporating eco-friendly practices into culinary experiences, reflecting my commitment to a greener and more sustainable world

Experienced in Childcare:
In addition to my advocacy work, I have valuable experience as a babysitter, bringing a caring and nurturing approach to everything I do.

I have diverse professional experience, including roles as a waitress and housekeeper. As a waitress, I honed my hospitality skills, ensuring that every person I encountered felt valued. In my role as a housekeeper, I learned the importance of attention to detail and creating a comfortable and welcoming environment.
