Hi there!
I'm Lou, and I'm currently on a sabbatical year with my best friend. We're embarking on an exciting journey across Asia, and we're particularly interested in spending more time in the serene and beautiful landscapes of Cambodia. That's how we discovered Workaway and thought it would be a fantastic way to immerse ourselves in local cultures while giving back to the communities we visit.
A bit about me: I'm a sunny and enthusiastic person who loves meeting new people. I'm always ready to dive into a new adventure, especially if it's a bit out of the ordinary and quirky. Whether it's joining in on local festivities, trying out new activities, or just engaging in interesting conversations, I'm always up for it.
My travel companion shares the same zest for life and adventure. We both thrive on connecting with others and embracing new experiences. We're eager to bring our positive energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to help to any project we join through Workaway.

Lou Meyer
Education:
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Montreal during which I did an academic exchange at Ateneo de Manila University.
Professional Experience:
I have worked as a supervisor and waitress at Mae Sri, a Thai restaurant in Montreal, where I managed multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring excellent customer service. I also have experience as an international correspondent for student mobility at the University of Montreal.
Skills:
Trilingual in French, English, and Romanian, with basic knowledge of Spanish.
Certified Open Water Diver (Level 1).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills developed through various leadership roles, including being the president of the French Student Group (EFUM) at the University of Montreal.
Practical skills in rescue swimming, driving, and karate (1st dan black belt).
Experience in architectural practices and creative design during internships.
Interests:
I am passionate about figure skating and scuba diving and I enjoy engaging in various sports and extracurricular activities.
Agathe Beny
Education:
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Montreal, specializing in Law and Governance. I also spent a semester on exchange studying International Relations at Ateneo de Manila.
Professional Experience:
I have over two years of experience working as a supervisor and waitress at Mae Sri in Montreal, where I provided services and advice in both English and French. I also served as the Vice President of the French Students Association at the University of Montreal, organizing cultural and sporting events and assisting the French community with immigration issues.
Skills:
Fluent in French and English, with basic Spanish skills.
Certified in First Aid.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, honed through various roles and responsibilities.
Strong organizational and leadership abilities demonstrated through my role in student associations and event planning.
Interests: I am actively involved in competitive sports, including running and dance competitions, and hold an Open Water Diver certification.
Current Work Experience
We are currently working at Omata Estate, a vineyard in Russell, New Zealand, for two months. This experience has provided us with hands-on knowledge in vineyard management, teamwork, and the agricultural industry.
We are both enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to contribute our skills to new projects while learning from the diverse experiences that Workaway offers. We look forward to meeting new people, embracing unique challenges, and immersing ourselves in the local cultures wherever we go.
