  • Description

Hello there! My name is Lucas, I’m completely new here and excited to meet some of you! Currently, I’m taking a gap year from sports school, as someone who loves to go on new adventures I wanted to see the world through my eyes.
One of the quotes I live by is "No risk, no story" and I have to say my natural ability to adapt quickly to different environments helps me in those adventures, including new places, people, or even works.
To me, time is the most precious thing we have so I really put effort into everything I do, which goes from the little things such as making my bed every morning to hours of hard work in groups.
My friends would "probably" (I forgot to survey to complete my profile) as someone easygoing and careful with each other behaviors, but the first thing they'd say is I'm someone "random" because I'm always up for new experiences, well that's why we're all on Workaway right?

I can teach french as i'm a native speaker, or english but i don't think it could be useful for anyone, especially in New Zealand. And i'm not starting any other language yet beside the basics or some fun word, but i'm looking forward opportunities to improve the ones i started.

  • More details about your skills

As I’m still very young my only diploma is from graduating from high school, with good grades in mathematics and arts that were my specializations. I then went to a sports university where I passed the first year and am now taking a gap year from.
Besides that, I’ve done a few jobs in different fields of skills such as :
    - Cooking: I worked a few weeks in a fast-food restaurant, and this whole summer in catering for a summer camp, so I know how to speed up and cook for plenty of people.
    - Gardening/Farming: I worked several times on an organic farm that grows vegetables, I can say I’m not scared to put my hand in the mud.
    - Housechores: I always did the house chores, especially when I lived by myself and before my summer camp job in the kitchen I worked as a housemaid to clean the place and make it ready to welcome kids, now cleaning around the house has no secret for me.
On top of that, my recent volunteering projects around Europe helped me to strengthen each of those skills and to learn many things about general maintenance overall.

  • What else ...

If there is one thing I like it’s definitely learning, both new things and mastering the ones I enjoy. But if I had to get more specific I’d mention my love for philosophy, it’s really important to me to think about everything and to take it seriously.
About the things that fulfill me, it really can go from hiking in total nature to discovering a city; or reading my book by myself to sharing and discussing ideas, plans, and life with people. That’s certainly why I love traveling so much, I always find time for both and I enjoy discovering new cultures, ways of living, and thinking.
