Hi I'm Kamryn! I’m 22 years old (female) and have just finished up school at Columbia University with a degree in Sustainable Development. Before planning my next step, I’m taking some time off to work, travel, learn more about myself and others. I have had an inclination to work on a farm or in a mutual live/work relationship for a good while and to see what doors it opens for me on a personal, mental, spiritual, whatever level it may be.

I grew up in and near the water, near lots of nature. The natural world is very near and dear to my heart and I am very eager to learn to love your corner of the world as well. And take care of it--

I am a hard worker and quick learner, having worked in high paced food service for many years there is some grit baked into me. I'm quite social but also prefer to listen and observe the world around me a good part of the time. I'm active, not afraid to get my hands dirty, sweat, bake in the sun a bit, all those things. I love dogs, kids, and any sort of good chaos and fun.

I am most interested in working on farms with permaculture / sustainable processes, animals or animal refuge, or those with a variety of tasks available, but really I’m not picky if it seems like a good fit! I'm very keen to learn about handiwork, building, and agriculture. Thanks for checking me out and let me know if you have any further questions.

Having just finished university, I do not have much workaway experience under my belt yet. I do believe, however, that I have a good understanding of the values, mutual connection, and work ethic that a work/living agreement requires. Good news is that I am a quick learner and self-starter who would be happy to dedicate themself to understanding and sharing whatever vision you may have for your home/project !! I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty, facing challenges, etc.

Animal care: I have 2 years experience as a dog walker and sitter while doing school. I've also fostered young dogs twice, one of whom I nursed through an illness. I have a strong affinity and care towards animals that seems to come naturally without feeling like any sort of chore, a life blessing indeed. If an animal is under my care I can ensure it will have my close attention and care. That being said, any location with pets or animal care/refuge is a great plus !

Childcare: With a big family, I have grown up around children of all ages and have a high comfortability caring for them. Have also had plenty of experience watching over children in a more formal way. Attentiveness, compassion, and lots of good fun are key :~)

I'm into sports - soccer, rugby, snowboarding, but will get behind just about anything. And I like a good beer, card game, etc. Like I said, I really enjoy having kids or pets around too, creativity, open-mindedness, all those things.
