Hi there! We’re Karla & Hannah

We’re Karla (23) and Hannah (24), best friends since we were just four years old. We love meeting new people, learning new things, and sharing good times while working together.

A few facts about us:
- Karla works as an occupational therapist in a child and adolescent psychiatric clinic.
- Hannah is a nurse on an Intermediate Care Unit specializing in stroke patients.

Even though our jobs keep us busy, we always make time for the things we love—especially being outdoors and spending time with animals.

Our Passions

We’ve been riding horses since we were 10, and while we each have our own style, we love working together on the ground and learning more about horsemanship

- Karla is currently diving into show jumping and enjoys working with warmbloods.
- Hannah prefers a laid-back style, like trail riding with draft horses.

We’re also no strangers to stable work and are happy to help with mucking out, feeding, grooming, or any other barn chores. We know what it takes to keep a barn running smoothly and aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty!

Hiking and exploring nature are also a big part of our lives, and we’re always up for an adventure!

Experience With Animals

We both have dogs at home, which sadly won’t be traveling with us, but they’ve taught us a lot about animal care.
- Karla has a lively Labrador who loves to sneak food out of your hand when you’re not looking.
- Hannah has a rescue dog from Romania who’s incredibly sweet and loves nothing more than cuddles.

These experiences have given us a deep appreciation for animals and a good understanding of their needs.

What You Can Expect From Us

We’re mostly hardworking, adaptable, and easy to get along with. Whether it’s taking care of animals, helping out in the garden, we’re happy to roll up our sleeves and get to work. We are also happy to help with childcare or some tasks that align with our professional skills ( this trip is supposted to be a little professional break ;p).

Food Preferences

Karla is vegetarian, and Hannah is vegan, but we’re super flexible and happy with simple meals—no stress about catering to us!

Our Travel Plans

We’ll be traveling through Canada during April, May, and June and can’t wait to explore this beautiful country. We’re excited to meet new people, experience Canadian culture, and spend as much time as we can outdoors.

More details about my language interests
While we’re not traveling specifically to focus on language learning, we’d love to improve our English and French skills during our time in Canada. We see language as a wonderful way to connect with people and immerse ourselves in the local culture. At the same time, we’d be happy to share our own language! If you’re interested, we’d love to teach you some German, whether it’s through casual conversations or more structured lessons. For us, language exchange is more of a bonus to the cultural experience we’re seeking, and we’re excited about the opportunity to learn and grow together in this way.
