Hi! We’re Karl and Carl, both 20 years old and close friends for over 8 years – ever since we met at school. This year, we decided to take a break from our usual routines and travel together, looking for meaningful and practical volunteer experiences through Workaway.
Carl is currently in his first year of studying physics. Karl recently decided to change his academic path: after studying sports management, he will be starting a degree in economics this October.
We both enjoy staying active – we like playing football and going for a run. Karl also practices boxing regularly, while Carl spends time at the gym. When we’re not outdoors, we love to hang out with friends and play board games – it’s one of our favorite ways to relax and have fun together.
The reason we want to volunteer together is simple: we’re looking to step away from our academic lives and take part in something hands-on and fulfilling. We’re excited to contribute to a good cause, meet new people, and experience everyday life and culture in COUNTRY in a more personal and grounded way.
We’d describe ourselves as independent, reliable, and open-minded. Both of us grew up helping in our families’ gardens – planting vegetables, fruits, and flowers – so we’re familiar with gardening and general household work. We're also happy to support wherever help is needed.
