Hello, my name is Jake and I am from Oregon, United States. I love to travel and try to get out into the world as often as I can. I am a photographer, musician (guitar), occasional writer, and avid reader. Wherever I am, I will most definitely be bringing my camera with me everywhere I go. Additionally, I would love to somehow do a gallery or some sort of project with photos from whatever workaway I end up doing. I also play soccer and basketball and love most, if not all, outdoor activities. I love experiencing new things and I believe that there is no better way to do that than traveling. I have done a decent amount of hostel traveling before but I am new to workaway. I'm looking forward to getting to know the people I will be working with better than if I were to just be staying in a hostel. I've found that it's easy to meet new people when staying in hostels, but harder to really get to know them when you're only there for a couple days. I would say I can be very outgoing and social when I want to be, however I am also very comfortable on my own with a book.

I am always interested in learning a new language, or a few. I have tried to do online learning a few times but have never been able to keep with it. Learning a new language is not my top priority, but if there was an opportunity I would be interested.

I've been working in restaurants for almost 10 years now so that is where most of my work experience comes from. I have worked both front of house, serving positions, as well as kitchen work. I am good with communicating and working in team environments as well as working with customers. I have basic computer knowledge and experience with Adobe programs. I have some gardening experience and experience with animals, dogs, cats, and chickens mostly. I graduated university with a degree in Journalism, so, I know how to read and write! I am physically able and can most likely do any physical work that may be required.
