Hi there, I’m Han (she/her),

I love to immerse myself in different cultures and get to know new folks with interesting stories to share. I love storytelling as much as I love listening to stories about people’s lives. I’m a graduate of Anthropology and Psychology - which means I’m pretty much intrigued by people.
I currently live on a little houseboat close to Amsterdam but with this chapter coming to an end, I’m excited to gather some new impressions this spring on the Canary Islands.

To share a few more passions of mine:
You can find me in the pottery studio where I love to experiment with clay and glazes. If you have a studio space available, that would be an absolute dream come true. But I basically love almost each and every existing kind of art. I write a lot of poetry myself and love to film and edit little clips on my super retro camcorder. Moreover, I enjoy practising yoga and do so at least a couple of times per week. I’m also a hiker and am usually hiking through some kind of mountainous parts of Europe every summer.

What’s more?
I have always been passionate about education, and I consider learning a creative endeavour. I discovered this passion for teaching as a voluntary private tutor for kids throughout high school. Fast-forward some years living in English-speaking countries, I am now an enthusiastic and qualified ESL CELTA (Cambridge University certified) teacher looking to gain some hands-on teaching experience and extend my skills. Having learned English as a second language myself, I can probably relate to the difficulties students face and try to teach in a way that motivates students and keeps learning fun. I am particularly interested in contemporary student-centred and communicative teaching approaches. So if you’re looking to improve your English, this may be a match!

All in all, I’m always happy to jump in, learn all kinds of new skills, and definitely not afraid to get my hands dirty.

I'm a certified English teacher (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) certified at IH Sydney, Australia). (I’m also happy to teach some German)

I’m a creative spirit and do pottery myself (mainly wheel throwing), so I'd love to help with any kind of art projects. If you have a pottery studio I promise we'd be a match made in heaven ;-)

I worked in the hospitality industry for many years to support my studies, so I have heaps of customer service skills, am familiar with processes in the kitchen and can deal with a wide variety of people. I also have two years of barista experience in coffee-crazy Sydney.

I’m eager to learn all kinds of new skills, especially anything regarding sustainable living as well as organic gardening.
