Hello! I am a recent University of California, Berkeley graduate, with degrees in Molecular Environmental Biology and Climate Science. I was an environmentalist on campus, and a member of multiple environmental communities! I love being outdoors and learning about the world around me by getting my hands dirty. I am a hard worker, and will devote myself to any task given to me! I have a lot of experience doing environmental service work, including weeding, planting trees, removing invasive species, etc. I was an equestrian for 8 years, and have experience working in the barn and with animals. I also have extensive experience conducting biological field research in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest, on the island of Moorea in French Polynesia, and in the jungle of Trinidad - working outdoors under tough conditions is not new for me!
I am looking for a farm located somewhere where nature is easily accessible! I would also love a small, cozy farm community. I am open to any and all kinds of work - I am a fast learner!
I recently served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a volunteer in Sustainable Agriculture. I love working outside and applying my academic background in ecology in a hands on way while connecting to the land and engaging in community integration.
I would also LOVE to work in a hospitality or community living! I am a huge people person - I love to be social, make new friends, party, go on adventures...I also have experience working in customer service, as a receptionist in an international backpackers' hostel and as a barista in a cafe. I love Workaways that prioritize social events, making friends, and building community!Interests

More details about your skills
I have extensive field experience living and working in harsh and challenging conditions, particularly in remote tropical environments conducting ecological research. I am able to work independently in this context - I have completed three independent research projects which consisted of self-guided field work, lab work, computer coding, and the writing of professional research papers accessible to the public online. I also have experience working with international teams– many of my field experiences involved collaborative teamwork in groups of up to 12 people from diverse backgrounds. These experiences took place in a range of ecosystems: the Peruvian Amazon rainforest, the island of Moorea in French Polynesia, the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Jamaica, and
California national parks.
I have worked on 5 different farms across Europe via the platform WorldWide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF). I engaged in daily farm tasks such as: watering and caring for fruit and vegetable plants, weeding and maintaining planting beds and fields, and animal caretaking (goats, chickens, rabbits, cows). I loved everything about these experiences, and made lifelong friendships along the way!
I have extensive experience in hospitality and customer service, working as a private tutor for elementary to high school kids, a receptionist in an international backpacker's hostel, and a counter person/barista in a cafe!
I am organized and dependable, take initiative, and have experience being a leader. On campus, I led environmental service groups, environmental policy initiatives, and environmental education efforts. I work efficiently in a team; I collaborated with various environmental organizations on campus ranging from student clubs to zero waste facility services. I believe that my experience in ecological fieldwork, leadership, organizational skills, and experience with international teamwork would make me a valuable asset!Age
