Description
Hi, I'm Fliss! Travel for me is the most exciting way to learn about the world, people and cultures, and also yourself. There's such a vast world out there and so much to experience and explore. I just love meeting people, conversing, finding the similarities and cherishing the differences between us as individuals and also cultures, what is life for if not to experience? I enjoy philosophy, art, learning about the natural world, discussing human nature and the mind, animals and insects, and hands-on outdoor work as well as academic discussions and research. What motivates me is probably a wonder for the world and everything in it! People describe me as optimistic and adventurous, and I believe I can find joy or reward in any job or experience. I grew up in a small village in England, and as a result, exploring far and wide around the world became my motivation as soon as I was old enough to.

English: FluentMore details about my language interests
I would love to learn particularly Spanish or French! I did GCSE French and a beginner's Spanish course at University, but I have always struggled with learning languages in the classroom. I'd love to try and learn in a native country. I am a native English speaker who has done various Language and Literature courses at various levels throughout my life, and I have no formal teaching qualifications or instruction, but I have a fluent and good understanding of the language and would love to help anyone trying to learn, whether conversationally or grammar-focused.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
I have quite a random and varied collection of skills, picked up from two very different and creative parents, as well as my own passions that have grown over time. In terms of education, I did Fine Art, English Literature, and Biology A-Level and am currently studying Liberal Arts with a major in Philosophy at the University of Bristol. This course allows me to focus mainly on Philosophy but also integrates other humanities subjects in an interdisciplinary course. I love essay writing, analysis, research, and broad and deep thinking, connecting different disciplines and specialities to get a more holistic understanding of the world. I'm a native English speaker, and I studied both English Language and Literature at GCSE level and still love my writing modules. I love creativity, doing art, and drawing. I want to do a tattooing course/apprenticeship after Uni, and would also love to explore pottery and sculpting as well as large-scale installation art at some point. I have always loved reading, and currently enjoy Greek mythology, novels, non-fiction about philosophy, particularly metaphysics, and psychology.
As well as academic and research-based passions and skills, I also have limited knowledge of hands on physical labour I would like to deepen. I've worked on horse yards for years, so I am used to heavy physical labour in sweltering heat or knee-deep snow early in the morning! I also have had my own horse for a bit, and have always loved being around and working with animals.
I've also worked with my dad in various forms of eco construction and building, from mud and clay roundhouses to eco Airbnb treehouses. I have helped with cladding, installing things like toilets and ovens, and different types of fencing, and have also used power tools, e.g., jigsaws, sanders. I would love to expand these hands on skills.Age
