I grew up in Minnesota, and my family is from a rural dairy farm in Australia. I work in marketing/advertising in New York City, but true to the stereotype, I dream of reconnecting with the earth and one day having a little self-sustaining plot of land.
I have wwoofed/worked-away at a biodynamic tuscan vineyard, an Italian hotel/garden, a closed-loop learning center in the Sierra Mountains, and a permaculture agroforest in Portugal. I love continuous learning and meeting the fascinating people that are drawn to this work. I am a responsible, soft-spoken guest and very adaptable to the demands of the space.
I'm interested in deepening my knowledge of self-sustaining living, playing games, gardening, and having eye-opening conversations.

More details about your skills
I have significant farming experience and a small about of building experience, in both California and Minnesota, where I am from. Last month, I helped to build a deck for a healing tent and restore a watershed for a farm, and I have taken classes that instruct on soil management, agroecology, chickens, composting, and more. I work in solar as an electrical engineer, so have technical skills to contribute if that's helpful! I have experience working intense service jobs, both as management and general staff, which included significant physical labor such as trail maintenance, working in industrial kitchens, and scrubbing toilets. I have experience working at a Stanford alumni camp and as both a counselor for 5-6 and 9-10 year olds and as the Children's Program Director, and I have tutored and babysat kids of all ages 2-18. I love children, so much!

What else ...
I have lived in close-knit communal settings (houses of 10-60 people) for the past 5 years. From this, I’ve learned so much about efficient cooking, financial management, organized job systems, and house norms. We all shared the values of compromising personal space for communal well-being, taking things in stride, being there for each other’s day to day, understanding how people show up to a space differently based on their identities and experiences, adapting our needs to those of the group, communicating through conflict with grace and compassion, contributing moments of joy and magic, building community and building a home. As a guest in your home, I would love to carry forward these values. I am a hard worker, clean and very polite!
