Hi :) My name is Eleonora - but you can call me Ele!
I'm 29 years old (turning 30 in September 😱) and I come from Italy. I have spent the last 4 years in Vienna, Austria, and a few months around the Bay of San Francisco, in California, for a PhD in computer science. As I'm finishing up my PhD, I'm looking forward to traveling, getting out of my comfort zone, and making new unforgettable experiences.
I like running (last year I ran my first marathon!) and spending time outdoors. I love any kind of water: lakes, rivers, seas, oceans, and waterfalls..In my opinion, nothing is as relaxing as the sound of water!
And, of course, traveling is one of my biggest passions!
I have done several solo trips, one group trip last year (with people I didn't know in advance - loved this experience), and many, many trips with friends! This is my first experience with Workaway, but not my first experience as a volunteer: I have helped ANT for years in Italy - a charity organization for cancer patients - and a couple of charity organizations in Southern Italy to raise awareness about the mafia.

I'm a friendly, open-minded person. I speak three languages (Italian, English, and Spanish) and have had a lot of contact with international people in my last few years, so I'm a good fit for activities where collaboration and interactions are relevant. I'm a rational and quite logical person, trained during my PhD to solve many different kinds of theoretical and practical problems. I’m a fast learner and happy to help wherever I’m needed. I enjoy hands-on tasks like gardening, cleaning, cooking simple meals, and basic DIY. I’m also comfortable working with animals and kids. I’m friendly, responsible, and open to learning new skills.
