Hi, I'm Cormac :)
I'm English but my abuela is from Madrid and so half my family are Spanish, I've wanted to get in touch with my Spanish roots for a while now and I now have the opportunity to move to Spain with my Spanish passport. I'm looking to do a Workaway for at least a month starting in February so I can get my Spanish more fluent before I look to settle down in Valencia, which is where my tía lives.

I'm not sure what I want to do with my life just yet but I have always had a strong desire to work or help animals, especially dogs. My dream at the minute would be to work in some kind of dog rescue shelter so I can spend as much time with dogs as possible while practicing my Spanish, and getting to learn more about Spain, the culture and the people.

The cultural exchange aspect of Workaday is very important to me, I'm really interested in learning as much as I can about Spain and its people as possible. Where I live in the UK has a lot of countryside around it so being able to explore the Spanish countryside and its pueblos would be ideal. For some reason I'm really interested in all the different Spanish accents and the regional expressions everyone uses, so I really want to be out there talking with all the locals whenever I can.

After having worked a desk job for a year I'm hungry to get my hands dirty and work outdoors doing something completely different that will open my mind to the kinds of things you can do with your life.

I'm an enthusiastic learner and more than happy to get my hands dirty and help out with whatever I can. I used to have a dog and so I'm very comfortable around dogs and their requirements. One of my skills is being able to speak Spanish. I enjoy cooking. I've worked as a labourer on a building site before so I'm familiar with manual labour etc. I hold a full UK driving licence. I'm very comfortable with technology, computers and computer software. I've also volunteered at a migrant support centre in Catania, Sicily, where they provide help, accommodation and assistance to predominantly African migrants who have reached Sicily.

I'm really into producing electronic music at the minute and am really enjoying this creative outlet.
Over the last few years I've been getting into my eastern philosophy, buddhism and meditation practices. And I'm also interested in other schools of philosophy like Stoicism at the moment.
I'm a lover of sci-fi films, Interstellar is my absolute all-time favourite film haha.
